(I'm) my DD is watching pats special delivery service, and he seems to continuously loose/misplace all the things he is supposed to deliver. AIBU to think he isnt that good at his job?

YANBU, was muttering the same to myself the other day. And whilst we're on the subject, sort of, the railway in Thomas the Tank engine is a disaster zone. My mum bought DS the box set from Christmas and there's a crash or accident of some in pretty much every one of the books.

This thread has made me laugh lots. Grin

I haven't noticed Pat since he went special delivery service, and that awful wrong song.
My kids like him. He's better than Waybuloo.

Old Thomas, the proper one with ringo star was lovely! The fat controller telling the engines they were useless and lazy and needed to buck their ideas up. Now it's all confusion and delay! What about your a lazy oaf Gordon pull your pistons out and crack on with it and Henry you are a train you won't melt in the rain so get the hell on with your job, you useless lump of iron? That would be better and for gods sake get rid of Michael Angelis and his well done Thomas, well done Emily nafness.

It has always disturbs me that Postman Pat's nose fits exactly into Jess the Cat's bottom (try it). I imagine he must waste a lot of time pulling it out and this may impact on the postal service he provides.

Oops - 'It has always disturbed me'

Tbh the residents of Greendale aren't much better. Why do they post that urgent thing to someone over the other side of the village, instead of just dropping it off personally? They usually get involved in the rescue effort anyway!

DH has just said that he thinks Pat is running a cartel - why else would everyone 'need' things delivered across the village?

I could buy into the cartel thing. That would explain all the 'special deliverys' and why everyone in greendale is a bit odd.

Bob is not just a good builder - he's invented instant-drying cement too! How else do you start work on a building in the morning and move in by teatime?!?! The only thing that took longer than a day was a bridge!!! Grin

And let me guess, Alf had a go at mending it Amd made a pigs ear of it, then pat swooped it, messily super glued it and was hailed as a hero who saved the day?
I've just realised he Amd Cheryl Cole have a lot in common

Maybe its a cult. Have you seen the episode where he wears robes and talks to them all about how he's the true son of god?

I like the fact that in the SDS episodes, Ted Glen has his own theme tune. He is the real star. Apart from jess, obviously, who spends each episode thinking 'why do I have to put up with this twat?'

Oh rosie I was just about to say that! Doo doo doo doo......TED GLEN!
He is the best.

I find some of the characters a little unlikeable tbh.
Particularly that doctor. Why doesn't she just get a car that works? Or join the RAC instead of just standing helplessly at the side of the road, waiting to distract Pat from doing what he is supposed to be doing.

I do think putting the postie through a car, motorbike, HGV and helicopter licence just to deliver to 1 Yorkshire village is a little excessive.

[yes PP is a hot topic in our household too]

I have realised recently that he is hopelessly inept. And yet somehow last week he got a gold star top performer award because he's always on time. [hmmm]

Obv he bribed his boss with sexual favors for that gold star....it's the only explanation. Also I am not sure he is actually licensed for all those vehicles.....he certainly doesn't drive them very well, says she, thinking of the episode with pat, water tower, helicopter and the greendale express

It seems to go on forever because there is no plot. Plus no one is allowed to leave Greendale the village of the damned. I remember an episode (not SDS) where the policeman applied for a job somewhere else becaue there wasn't much crime and so nothing for him to do. The locals then all invented things he needed to 'help' them with and the kids made up a song and and he was persuaded to stay, in his boring unfulfilling job, after all. I felt quite bad about it.

One day they'll burn some unsuspecting interloper in Greendale. Just like WhickerMan.

Sneaky and there was an episode where he got his van stuck in the mud because instead of driving on the road like all the other vehicles he decided to go through one of the fields. Clever.

People do leave Greendale - where is Granny Dryden now? Dorothy Thompson?

Don't ask that question in green dale as the locals will attempt to silence you
