Hi,

Sorry to talk about another site, but I was confused thinking NM and MN were similar. I know now that NM is full of bright colours and pictures, and this one is blue. I've been on NM for 5 years and used to go there just to seek advice, and look for penfriends. The worst thing I did was drift off to their coffeehouse area. I wanted to get to know others a bit. I didn't think I did anything wrong at first until I posted. I discovered a massive clique of people who all agree with the same thing. They targetted me with online verbal. I wud come away from NM and let things cool, then go back again a month later.

I got bullied on NM by 50 of the members. I tried ignoring them and made lots of reports, pressing the Report button. Either admin did something or didn't. Because of this the admin started picking on me! I later found out they've had me monitored for some reason. I didn't do anything wrong. I was a bit scared when admin sent PM's harasing me for posting on their Lounge forum and daring to disagree with others. I was never rude or nasty.

One male poster on NM stalked me and tried to locate me elsewhere. A group of others threatened to kill me, ect. It was all really grubby. The worst thing I did again was go back! I returned 3 months later. This time the members might've forgot me but admin certainly didn't! They banned me from using their general forums. I asked them why and they didn't answer except tell me they were checking into my personal info, monitoring my activities, get this - not wanting me to use their report buttons and they didn't want me expressing an opinion.

I felt quite scared b/cos they have all my personal info, such as address, phone, real name, LO's name, my d/o/b/ and IP, ect. The admin (i mean all of them as they all signed it) sounded threatening and warned me off using their site again. I asked them what is it I've done wrong in the first place. No answer. I realised it was best to leave the site.

Later I found out one of the members who was quite nasty to me could be a TV celeb who also uses the site and her avatar looks like her. I didn't know this when I posted on it.

What I talked about on there getting into troble on NM? Saying I'm celibate and a single mum who doesn't need a man in my life. That was all

Fanjo pass the brain bleach please

PickledFanjoCat · 21/05/2012 23:11

There isn't any left, I've drank it all!

SPsFanjoHarboursDeadCats · 21/05/2012 23:13

Anyone got brain bleach? It's an emergency!

Don't think any amount of bleach will remove the mark that paragraph you posted out of my brain

cakeismysaviour · 21/05/2012 23:17

I'm back from Nethuns...

Shock
PickledFanjoCat · 21/05/2012 23:19

What is an AA? Is it to do with bums?

SPsFanjoHarboursDeadCats · 21/05/2012 23:20

In my head its batteries.

QueenElizaBeatHer · 21/05/2012 23:25

Exactly why I left! There are some very, very cruel women over there. Finding Mumsnet was a Godsend!

PickledFanjoCat · 21/05/2012 23:28

I get it! I thought It was Analists Anonymous or something.

Princessofdarkness · 21/05/2012 23:31

I currently have a month long ban, they didn't like my alpacas :(

Oh well....

FloweryRuna · 22/05/2012 00:22

I don't expect everyone to believe me but it DID happen. The moderators in the Help and advice sections over there are more into being really nice to ppl. The admin are different.

I'm really not interested if I hurt NM's feelings by talking about this on a different forum. I had to tell someone. I've seen others picked on there too.

No I won't be visiting there ever again.

I joined years ago not knowing that my actual name would become my user name.

I mentioned in my first post here on this thread what it was they attacked me for: last paragraph. It started off that way but it got out of hand.

No I haven't done anything wrong. This isn't my first post here either. Just wondering if voicing that was a mistake? It seems that way.

Flowery I think you should just let it be, don't want to start pissing people off here.

Put the past behind you and start afresh!

medievalgirl · 22/05/2012 07:19

Must admit, I've dabbled in both sites. The main differences IMO are:-

  1. The spelling is vastly superior over here.
  1. Here, if you drink lots of wine each night, nobody has a problem with it. If you drink as much as a glass of wine over there, people will pipe up with "I just don't see why it's necessary."
  1. Over here, people don't see the point of P&C parking. Over there, anyone who misuses P&C spaces should apparently be shot.

sp are you allowed to say fanjo on netmums?

Isn't it a banned word??

I can't take all the sparkles and tickers over there but I always thought it was all pink and fluffy, clearly not?!?

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 22/05/2012 07:51

princess I feel partly responsible. I have been merrily cranking up the goat/llama motif for days.
Although I havent mentioned alpacas.
I have only been ther avoiding essay writing.
Sox Hun xx

FartBlossom · 22/05/2012 08:17

I came off net last night, what happened to that thread about what do you like and dislike about nethuns over there? I commented on that, wanted to see if anyone else agreed about disliking not swearing, tickers and text speak. Did the admins not like people giving constructive critism (sp?)

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 22/05/2012 08:51

I didn't think it would last.
They don't like that art I'd seditionary talk over ther.
,
Mnhq on the other hand, positively thrive on it Grin

takingiteasy I remember the 'Lady Loving' thread on NM. I was actually in it for a while and on the FB group (wasn't in a relationship though and never posted any pictures on the group, either, just to clarify :o) it was all a bit bizarre. I seemed to get an entire page of one certain lady's anatomy whilst the others drooled over her Hmm and not a lot else. I wasn't particularly interested in casual sex so I just left them to it. If you know about it then presumably we may have spoken before, so hello :o

I'm not convinced they were all women, either, now I think about it...

thatisall · 23/05/2012 22:20

Just came back after a couple of days and this thread still made me Grin

BUSYBOPS · 22/09/2012 10:05
