Hi,

Sorry to talk about another site, but I was confused thinking NM and MN were similar. I know now that NM is full of bright colours and pictures, and this one is blue. I've been on NM for 5 years and used to go there just to seek advice, and look for penfriends. The worst thing I did was drift off to their coffeehouse area. I wanted to get to know others a bit. I didn't think I did anything wrong at first until I posted. I discovered a massive clique of people who all agree with the same thing. They targetted me with online verbal. I wud come away from NM and let things cool, then go back again a month later.

I got bullied on NM by 50 of the members. I tried ignoring them and made lots of reports, pressing the Report button. Either admin did something or didn't. Because of this the admin started picking on me! I later found out they've had me monitored for some reason. I didn't do anything wrong. I was a bit scared when admin sent PM's harasing me for posting on their Lounge forum and daring to disagree with others. I was never rude or nasty.

One male poster on NM stalked me and tried to locate me elsewhere. A group of others threatened to kill me, ect. It was all really grubby. The worst thing I did again was go back! I returned 3 months later. This time the members might've forgot me but admin certainly didn't! They banned me from using their general forums. I asked them why and they didn't answer except tell me they were checking into my personal info, monitoring my activities, get this - not wanting me to use their report buttons and they didn't want me expressing an opinion.

I felt quite scared b/cos they have all my personal info, such as address, phone, real name, LO's name, my d/o/b/ and IP, ect. The admin (i mean all of them as they all signed it) sounded threatening and warned me off using their site again. I asked them what is it I've done wrong in the first place. No answer. I realised it was best to leave the site.

Later I found out one of the members who was quite nasty to me could be a TV celeb who also uses the site and her avatar looks like her. I didn't know this when I posted on it.

What I talked about on there getting into troble on NM? Saying I'm celibate and a single mum who doesn't need a man in my life. That was all

PissyDust · 21/05/2012 21:08

Popcorn?

Some0ne · 21/05/2012 21:09

Poldark, I love you.

Sittinginthesun · 21/05/2012 21:10

Mnhq are busy elsewhere! They'll probably be here in a minute.

bringmesunshine2009 · 21/05/2012 21:18

I used to use the birth club forum on ivillage. It was totally invaluable when I had DS1 and am still FB friends with some of the ladies who were and are lovely. Waves to any Oct 09 mums. They changed the format though, so I left as it was a bugger to read.

cakeismysaviour · 21/05/2012 21:21

Who is the celeb, OP? I need to know.

NancyBlacket · 21/05/2012 21:25

Have had to stop lurking, laughing so hard at Poldark! Grin

cakeismysaviour · 21/05/2012 21:32

I do know a TV presenter who retweets Netmums on Twitter....

bibbitybobbitybunny · 21/05/2012 21:38

Oh, what were they saying on the-other thread-that has-already-been-deleted before-I-even-knew-it-was-here?

Quick someone - pm if needs be!

Marilyn1980 · 21/05/2012 21:39

I was a prolific poster(and admin) on another fluffy hunny huggy forum/community(yack). A few in the group of mums I got to know were banned, I wandered over into the sunlight here. Although I think the OP is being slightly over-dramatic, I remember how utterly evil in a passive aggressive way(and not so passive via pm) posters were on the forum I used.

Softlysoftly · 21/05/2012 21:42

Hey where'd my thread go Angry I feel victimised, bullied even, bet there will be 50 posters on here threatening to chop my head off soon and MNHQ will start pm'ing me abusive language and telling me not to tell anyone ever ever or they will share my address, DOB and inside leg measurements.

Or maybe not.

squeakytoy · 21/05/2012 21:55

The ebay uk chatboards are the best for double standards, favouritism and hypocrisy ... you can be as racist as you like, rant all day about "immigrants and muslims", but woe betide you if you so much as mention any other companies, ie tesco (even in code) or utter a mild expletive... I have known posters be banned for saying "good morning" because it was "sarcastic".

If you were to say "the queues in T**co were a bit bloody long today", that would mean a ban!

IneedAbetterNicknameIn2012 · 21/05/2012 21:56

I think I started on the huggies club, that was rubbish! It took about 2 days for comments to be approved and put on the site! Then I moved to nethuns and bounty. Then I finally saw the light and came here Grin

manicbmc · 21/05/2012 22:00

What no sarcasm! Takes all the fun out of posting.

CherryCheesecake · 21/05/2012 22:02

I'm new(ish) to MN and I have to know, whats the deal with fruit shoot & greggs hating cos ive just been over to the darkside (more like brightside =/) and saw a thread about what people hate/love about NM and theres a lot of people saying 'people who hate fruit shoots and sausage rolls'.

Where did it all begin?

MrsMuddyPuddles · 21/05/2012 22:02

I started on babycentre. Felt a bit like I was taking the piss when I was no longer pregnant. Then I found the reviews here, and, eventually, good housekeeping and AIBU.

Tee2072 · 21/05/2012 22:03

Leave the bastard

maras2 · 21/05/2012 22:13

It seems rather insensitive on NM's when someone posts about a MC or SB that they pretty their posts with either 'Mom to 2 lil gorjuges' or post a picture of a babe in utero with a count down to the birth date.

ScarletLadyOfTheNight01 · 21/05/2012 22:14

I have to admit to being a Nethuns regular. I came across this place and that at about the same time, but found here far too fast and confusing (I was pregnant...I'm not dim or anything). I've settled into the rhythm a bit more over here now though...I like the swearing aspect as I swear like a sailor IRL.

I have honestly NEVER experienced anything like what has been mentioned in the OP, and I'm rather opinionated. That's not saying it doesn't happen though...I've read posts similar to this one...very similar in content actually.

I did once get called an insane paedophile sympathiser for not agreeing with the Death Penalty though...which had me laughing for days.

thatisall · 21/05/2012 22:18

Olivia MNHQ is actually making me chuckle to myself like a mad woman!

crazynanna · 21/05/2012 22:19

I was on that thread too, Scarlet Wink

Tangointhenight · 21/05/2012 22:21

What did people actually do before internet forums, what did they do all day????

ScarletLadyOfTheNight01 · 21/05/2012 22:22

Hehehe crazynanna, gotta love a good ol' Death Penalty debate. sharpens pitchfork

thatisall · 21/05/2012 22:24

They are debating whether 5.00 found on the road should be reported to the police? ooooooh are we allied to be the mean girls, who just point and make snide comments.....??

Why do people go on there, it looks like a load of women who got too attached to sparkly avatars back in their Myspace Days, have just decided to sit around and say boring things....apart from the strap on thread....which is hilarious!

MrsMuddyPuddles · 21/05/2012 22:25

Tango: watch tv.
