for wanting people to follow the rules

i am really annoyed with this. i moved from my last home for my neighbours parking their vehicles in our spaces and it got really nasty. we have since moved to a new development where there are set rules about what you can and cant do re: parking and vehicke types its ones of the reasons i bought the house. My new neighbours are basically flouting them even though they have been warned by the developer.

aibu to expect for people follow the rules that are set, and not take the piss.

its been handed to the solicitors now i hope this can be resolved ir ill be moving again.

Damn shame you don't follow the rules of spelling and grammar.

Well OP, if following every rule turns you into a small-minded, petty, intolerant busybody, vive la revolution.

DontmindifIdo · 21/05/2012 21:21

Are the vans there all day or do they drive off in their work vans every morning to work and return after work to park them up? Are they actually spoiling your view and annoying you overnight?

SauvignonBlanche · 21/05/2012 21:21

It is a strict rule that sentences begin with a capital letter, you have demonstrated that your shift key works, so please follow the rules.
Or I'll call my solicitor

Are there any security light issues here??

fuckarama · 21/05/2012 21:24

This neighbour, the one with the van, does he have a security light?

Or is the security light yours?

fuckarama · 21/05/2012 21:25

The van is there sporadically. not always overnight, sometimes all day like today but its not there now, there seems to be no routine to it.

Where are they supposed to park the van legally then? Surely if there is a covenant that says that they can't park there they must be allowed to park somewhere else. If there is no where else at all to park then you should have seen this coming IMO

ScarlettAlexandra · 21/05/2012 21:27

no security lighting on either property. just good street lighting.

Is the road outside your house adopted?

Because if it's adopted, they can park where they damn well please (as long as they have tax, insurance and MOT).

Come to think about it it's only vans that are not allowed, my dad drives alot of vehicles he has a licence for almost everything maybe I could get tractor jcb or any other vehicle lol

ScarlettAlexandra · 21/05/2012 21:30

How could i see this coming?

If it was me and i knew i had a van i would not buy the house with rules to the contrary. No brainer.

fuckarama · 21/05/2012 21:31

Scarlett - you yourself have said that upthread that if it's not moved they will lose their tenancy.

Do you mean that to sound so nasty?

BawdyStrumpet · 21/05/2012 21:32

What IS so upsetting about vans? I mean, really? Is it just because they are common, or something?

Olympia2012 · 21/05/2012 21:32

Op.... What dies your husband think about all this ?? Ate things better now as I remember previous thread
