Seems that Blair is planning a return to UK politics.

"Whatever your opinion of her policies, Mrs Thatcher didn't just shift her position to suit the PR gurus!"

The fact that the lady wasn't for turning hardly overruled all her crimes.

So if someone is really determined to do something and doesn't waver, that makes what they're doing palatable?

sue52 · 20/05/2012 21:13

She makes me well up too thenightsky I can never forgive her for what she did to the manufacturing industry.

ravenAK · 20/05/2012 21:14

thenightsky - I had a similar conversation with an elderly chap at Magma. Sad

Jinsei · 20/05/2012 21:15

Thatcher - no contest. I will never forgive Blair for taking us into an illegal war in Iraq, but I cannot even begin to list the things for which I cannot forgive Thatcher, I'd be here all night.:(

LynetteScavo · 20/05/2012 21:15

Thatcher. (Nothing to do with her being a woman Angry)

Blair comes no where near. But yes, he did have an easier job.

yousankmybattleship · 20/05/2012 21:15

For me Blair is worse. I think they both did terrible damage, but although I fundamentally disagreed with everything she did, I genuinely believe that Thatcher had principles and integrity. I don't think Blair has an honourable bone in his body.

Kayano · 20/05/2012 21:16

Thatcher. I'm northern

Chubfuddler · 20/05/2012 21:17

Exactly battleship. If Tony Blair told me it was raining I would look out the window to check.

CurrySpice · 20/05/2012 21:18

Gumby I suggest that if you have so little idea about the very recent history of this country you need to do a little reading tbh

GetDownNesbitt · 20/05/2012 21:23

TheCunningStunt · 20/05/2012 21:24

Thatcher

LineRunner · 20/05/2012 21:26

Ideology, my dear Gumby. That and the stupid entitlement of the thick shits who let her.

Gooshka · 20/05/2012 21:26

Thatcher, Cameron and Osborne - Witch, Wanker, C*nt in that order (though interchangeable). Don't hate Blair at all.

nikcname · 20/05/2012 21:27

Blair, his wife, his lies, iraq; people are still dying soldiers and civilians, bush arse licking, banks under his leadership and the smarmy smile.

AppleCrumbleAndFish · 20/05/2012 21:29

Thatcher. I detest everything about her.

Brightspark1 · 20/05/2012 21:31

Out out out. Sorry not quick enough

LithaR · 20/05/2012 21:32

Thatcher, without a doubt. She destroyed my home, took away my dads job and sucked out the soul of this country. I shall be sure to mark her passing by having the biggest celebration. In fact I reckon they'd need to install a dance floor and toilet on her grave.

thenightsky · 20/05/2012 21:38

Aye... the North will dance on her grave.

LineRunner · 20/05/2012 21:41

In fact I reckon they'd need to install a dance floor and toilet on her grave.

You should copyright that, Litha. Strange genius.

Brightspark1 · 20/05/2012 21:41

Check out a song by Elvis Costello called Tramp the Dirt Down... 'when they finally put her in the ground I will dance on her grave and tramp the dirt down' will be playing it very loud when the time comes. BTW I'm a southerner.

nagynolonger · 20/05/2012 21:42

Thatcher. I'm sure it is an age thing.

Blair was wrong over Iraq but Mrs T would have done the same for Ragan.

ThatVikRinA22 · 20/05/2012 21:42

WA its you! didnt notice it was you...!!

VictoriaWould · 20/05/2012 21:43

Thatcher. And Cameron will be hated more than her.

orangeandlemons · 20/05/2012 21:44

........and perhaps not even a toilet....... (sorry disrespectful)

LadyBeagleEyes · 20/05/2012 21:45

Thatcher for me, without a doubt.
I agree about Blair and the Iraq war, but she would have done exactly the same thing in that instance.
As people have said above she decimated the manufacturing industry in Britain.
And she also decimated the Scottish Tory vote, and our hatred of her gave us a Scottish Parliament.
So she did something good Grin
