We've recently moved and got a cleaner. She's very nice but I'm not that impressed. She scours the kitchen within an inch of its life and skims the rest. For the last 3 weeks I've noticed that DP's toilet and the teen's toilet have poo stripes. SHe has cleaned the toilet but not scrubbed the stripes. Is this not a bit out of order? We can't have loo brushes because DS loves them and charges round the house with them aloft.

I once worked for a woman who left her pads in her pants when she put them in the wash, so I do know what it feels like to think, jesus, meet me half way.

But still, is a bit of a scrub not part of being a cleaner?

So your teenage son runs around with toilet brushes?

HolyCameraConfusionBatman · 17/05/2012 22:46

YABsooooU it's unbelievable.

You want the cleaner to clean up your DP's and teenagers shit with the hands?

Buy a brush.

Get your DP and son to clean up their own crap.

ancienthistrionics · 17/05/2012 22:47

Sooty, DS is 2 Confused. the teen is difficult but not barbaric.

THe teen has to clean his own bathroom but he's notoriously unreliable

Then let him live with the shit he (literally) creates.

Otherwise he's going to grow up to be a bit of a useless, lazy lump who expects his wife to clean up after him.

ThatVikRinA22 · 17/05/2012 22:48

or maybe she uses your toothbrushes.

AKissIsNotAContract · 17/05/2012 22:48

And let them know that everytime they brush their teeth they are eating shit.

EllenParsons · 17/05/2012 22:48

YABU

It needs to be removed immediately - I can't imagine not having a toilet brush in the house so I would put one somewhere out of reach of your DS, otherwise use another method, but it is out of order to just leave it (presumably for days Shock )

There is one individual in my household who doesn't have the decency to use a toilet brush and leaves the toilet smeared with poo so I feel strongly about this!!

ancienthistrionics · 17/05/2012 22:49

She is provided with rubber gloves and scrubbies. What's the difference?

I just did them all myself with gloves and a flash wipe.

ancienthistrionics · 17/05/2012 22:50

Worra I am training him, I just need a bit longer.

Is there nobody in your house capable of pouring bleach into a toilet? Wink

YourFanjoIsNotAHandbag · 17/05/2012 22:52

But they are your toilets.

You can't expect your cleaner to scrape your DH and DS shit that's been there for a week with her hands, that's pretty disgusting.

You do know cleaners are actually people, don't you?
I mean you are paying her to do a job but at least have a bit of decency and respect.

Is this a new angle on poo trolling? Grin

AnnetteCurtain · 17/05/2012 22:53

Training the teenager?

My ds2 puts a bit of bleach in the loo and scrubs it with the brush-he is 8 FFS

YourFanjoIsNotAHandbag · 17/05/2012 22:54

Grin at the brushless poo troll

AKissIsNotAContract · 17/05/2012 22:54

Even if she gets all the skids off, you can't only clean toilets weekly. I'm very lax when it comes to housework but shit skids are not acceptable. They need to be cleaned off as soon as they land there, not once a week.

CurrySpice · 17/05/2012 22:54

If it's that straightforward OP then your kids and DP won't mind doing it will they? Hmm

Iggly · 17/05/2012 22:55

Gloves. Cillit bang. Job done, no?
Get scrubbing then.
You leave poo in your toilet for the cleaner to do it once a week? Hmm

Do you leave your kitchen in a mess until she comes?

Tidy as you go including your own poo.

And before you ask, yes I have a cleaner. I also have a loo brush and a2.6 year old who I keep an eye on and make sure he doesn't play with it or any cleaning things

ilovesooty · 17/05/2012 22:55

What would "a bit longer" accomplish in terms of training your idle teen?

So the 2 year old doesn't have his own toilet?

(Fascinated by this multi toilet household and irresistably reminded of the Not the Nine o'Clock News sketch)

rustygusset · 17/05/2012 22:56

"Sorry I just thought you poured the bleach, left it a few minutes then came back with the scrubber."

WTF?! And you used to be a cleaner?!

ancienthistrionics · 17/05/2012 22:56

I think I just won't have a cleaner then. I can't stand the disappointment.

I am very tough with the teen and he does clean his bathroom. I don't go in his room much though.

YourFanjoIsNotAHandbag · 17/05/2012 22:57

You are getting rid of the cleaner, rather than buying a loo brush??

Iggly · 17/05/2012 22:57

I think I just won't have a cleaner then. I can't stand the disappointment

Just clean your toilet more often.
