Umm skinny's not the word. Possibly and probably a size zero? Not natural/down to fast metabolism either as she used to be 'bigger'. That waist is thinner than my thigh by a long shot. Even DH said about it this morning and he's generally not interested in that sort of thing.

Don't understand why it hasn't even been mentioned in the press? I'm confident that any other celeb/person in the public eye would be questioned/accused of being anorexic.

I wonder what her BMI is? I would suggest dangerously low, NOT a good example IMO. However, gorgeous teal dress :)

I'm going to go and let the feminism movement down in bed, with my terrible ideas that women's worth is more than their BMI, and that they shouldn't be expected to be perfectly weighted ornaments.

She does look very slim, she looks nice but seems to have lost a fair bit of weight from what she was and she was slim before she lost weight too. I would say she is a little too thin as she was never that thin before

Catherine/Kate probably doesn't want to be "shoved down our throats". The newspapers and magazines are doing that. Why? Because women buy them, and talk about the pictures. That applies even if you think you're just talking about her from a "health" angle. On a day to day basis, I find the concept that it's okay to judge women you don't know on their weight far more oppressive than the existence of the royal family.
Novack Yes, people did/do blame Charles for the breakdown of his marriage, and I've seen maybe three MN posts about William's hair. I don't think they're analogous.

Many of us are not judging KM on her weight BigJesse - just judging / concerned about a society that applies insidious pressure on women to change their bodies, be it to become excessively thin like KM or have a boob job / use Botox etc or the other myriad ways that have proliferated over recent years (with the subtext that women are not good enough as they are)

I understand your point, but criticising someone for being too thin is also contributing to social pressure. There is also a trickle-down effect to ordinary women, who certainly haven't married the heir to the throne! I had a very thin friend once, who would come back from public toilets in tears, after comments like "going to be sick, are you?"

Judging women for being too thin doesn't cancel out the judging women for being too fat. It's just more nastiness.

I suppose the issue is that she has been made to feel like she needs to be that thin and the effect that will have on the rest of society as she has become so revered. She is also a victim of sexism. but is she is also contributing to patriarchy so is part of the problem. She is an influential part of something that oppresses women.

KM is influential only to those who seek her out, to look at her photos, support the publication of those magazines she is in, etc.

To the rest of us who don't feel that way about her or fear the impact of the role she has, she is just another human being to whom only a scant interest is paid.

She 's had her forehead botox-ed by the looks of things. That and her heavy black eye-liner make her look so expressionless sometimes. She always looks so buttoned-up but I guess that's a requirement for a royal wife.

I think she looks like any other hooray skinny plain and bit dull with no taste but an eating disorder is a mental health issue so am not sure how you can tell someones MH status by looking at them

She had something like a billion people watching her wedding. No wonder she lost a bit of weight. I know when I'm a bit stressed my appetite diminishes. Doesn't mean she has an eating disorder. I think if the media stopped printing her photos on the front page, she could relax a bit. It must be awful to be do scrutinised.

I doubt she has an eating disorder but she does have thighs as thin as her calves, which is never a good look.

Her legs look very well toned to me.

Those legs dont look well toned in the first photo, they look dreadful, and as for that dress... my 78 year old Mother would have deemed that as being for someone in their 90's.

Has she raided the Queens wardrobe? It is bloody awful.

Someone like Heidi Klum is toned. Poor Kate is just scrawny. It may be natural as she has aged but she certainly wasn't like that a few years ago.

She works out!!! She is very sporty and a few years ago was in a rowing team which was going to cross the Chanel. She is muscular!!!

My dsis goes to the gym 4 times a week and completed the marathon a few weeks ago. Her legs look exactly the same as Kate'sbut about 6 inches shorter in muscle tone.

She's thin but I don't see any evidence of the awful xylophone bust that most skinny minnies have (see Posh for evidence of that).

KM does look really skinny now.
It is only 'a problem' if it is as a result of her being unhappy though.
I hope she is well and happy and just a bit on the thin side!
