Maybe you should teach him to use the washing machine!

hiddenhome · 08/05/2012 11:44

Is he going to dry them in the microwave now? Grin

ddubsgirl · 08/05/2012 11:45

sounds something like my dh would do he use to mircowave clothes dry, went to pick ds1 up from nursery 1 day and they asked me not to send him in burnt clothes, cue confused look from me and getting ds and seeing what they ment was last time he ever did that!and to make it worse it was ds fave toy story top:(

redrubyshoes · 08/05/2012 11:45

Was he still wearing them? It is not so bad. One MN's knows of a woman who washes her loo brush in her dishwasher.

I would refuse an invite to dinner there, but slippers....................heck NO - that is just horrible!!

OneHandFlapping · 08/05/2012 11:45

I'm amazed at what other people wash in dishwashers. Dog bowls, dish cloths, candles (all on MN) and horse stirrups - but that last one was on How Clean is Your House.

Just yuk.

CalmaLlamaDown · 08/05/2012 11:46

No way, were there dishes in there too?

OneHandFlapping · 08/05/2012 11:46

Loo brush is the worst yet, redrubyshoes!

laurenamium · 08/05/2012 11:48

On embarrassing bodies there was a woman doing self colonic irrigations and washing her BUM FUNNEL in the dishwasher. Words fail me

LoopyLoopsTootTootToots · 08/05/2012 11:48

Why not dog bowl or dishcloths? Confused

QuintessentialShadows · 08/05/2012 11:48

I just opened the dishwasher to add something, and found it had already run with the breakfast dishes, and a pair of nike rubber slippers

I guess the only thing I can do is run it again on super high temperature.

*washes dog & cat bowls in dishwasher

CalmaLlamaDown · 08/05/2012 11:51

BizArre behavour from your dh op, was he pissed

QuintessentialShadows · 08/05/2012 11:53

No, he said he stepped on a slug on the patio, and washed the slippers under the hose, then in hot fairy liquid in kitchen, then detolled them using detoll wipes, yet still was not satisfied they were clean enough, so he put them in the dishwasher.... Hmm

The fact that he wears slippers would upset me more, I have a weird hatred of men in slippers and I've no idea why.

QuintessentialShadows · 08/05/2012 11:57

Our floors are hard and cold.

We dont wear shoes at home. We like our toes to breathe.

We are mad, arent we? Grin

MarySA · 08/05/2012 11:58

I too absolutely hate men wearing slippers. And barred them for a long time. But gave up in the end.

QuintessentialShadows · 08/05/2012 11:58

They are nike sports slippers, or sandals, even.
I wear open sandals. (not slippers)

Beamur · 08/05/2012 12:00

It sounds like they were fairly clean when he put them in, personally I don't think I'd worry that much, but ask him not to do it again.

chipmunksex · 08/05/2012 12:04

BUM FUNNELL!

Abzs · 08/05/2012 12:07

Just run it on a hot wash and it'll clean itself out. Dishwashers run at 90+ degreesC. Which probably makes it the best place to clean those rubber sports slippers - they get rank (or is that just my DH's feet?).

Unless you were planning on using it to poach a salmon when you found the shoes...

BanalChelping · 08/05/2012 12:23

Leave the bastard!

QuintessentialShadows · 08/05/2012 12:27

No salmon poaching plans here.

(He uses them with socks) Hmm

But yes, I guess they were quite clean when he put them in.

It just felt absurd, open the machine, steam bellowing out, to reveal a pair of slippers.

I'd wash the cat bowls in the dishwasher if we had could afford a dishwasher. Is that really any worse than washing them in the sink where we wash the dishes?

Shinyshoes1 · 08/05/2012 12:54

lol Banal

I put the dogs bowl and dishcloth in the dishwasher Hmm
