Recently, I've seen a few people doing this, and it surprised me (and when did so many people switch to roll-ups?).

I don't want to see people fiddling about with tobacco pouches and cigarette papers in coffee shops and restaurants. Obviously, if they could smoke them there then it makes sense, but now it seems to me like going into a cafe and starting to make your own sandwich (with no intention of eating it in there obviously).

AIBU? A friend says I am, because if they did it outside "their tobacco might blow away", which while possibly true, hardly seems a good justification to me.

I used to roll my dad's when I were young.

What is it you object to, specifically? Is it the gaudy plastic pouches? The tins were so much more tasteful.

There's nothing like rolling your own though; a nice little skinny one with a roach not a filter. Cherry vanilla tobacco or just old holburn, nice little clicky lighter and a pint of Guinness.

Er, you sound completely nuts, OP. I would totally agree that rolling a spliff in a café would be a bit off but smoking is still legal last time I checked, however stupid/unpleasant/pointless.

Skinny ones are prison rollies chip .I liked a mid thickness,no roach or filter,Drum or Amber Leaf.Any old lighter will do.With the first cup of coffee in the morning.

Ah I couldn't do no roach...I used to get bits in my mouth. Mine were mostly prison rollies though, I liked 'em skinny. Make them too big and you start getting pulled over by the police. This was when you weren't chased out of town for smoking in public though.

I have a tin. It rolls them for me. I lack practical skills and manual dexterity.

It's because it is only a little thing that I've posted it here.

It's unlikely to come up in normal conversation, so I wouldn't find out what other people thought (which is obviously that I'm U), whereas here you can start a thread about the topic of your own choosing.

Anyway, I've accepted I was BU.
