55p for a single packet!!!!!! Only found this out today,as I normally buy multi packs, but nipped into local shop as I fancied a packet. The last time I remember buying a single packet they were 35p.

YABU last year was a rough one for potatoes

I remember when a can of coke cost 33p...

Alliwantisaroomsomewhere · 27/04/2012 20:03

YABU. No one should be eating crisps. They are the devil's food. We should all be eating raw carrots instead.

WorraLiberty · 27/04/2012 20:03

They're about 65p here for a bag of fucking air Hmm

NagooIsBuildingAnArk · 27/04/2012 20:05

And polos.

They're about 60p now.

Shock

do they even make fruit polos any more?

Lovelynewboots · 27/04/2012 20:05

YANBU, we eat loads of crisps in this house and are dead expensive even in multi packs. What else am I supposed to put in the kids lunch boxes?

RinkyDinkyDoo · 27/04/2012 20:05

Mrs Lettuce, I was going to buy a can of coke, they didn't have cans, only bottles-for £1 !!!!!!! A fucking pound.

I know! Big Crisp fan here too.

I've resorted to buying the sainsbo's own brand 12 pack for 85p lately - quite passable to fill those crisp shaped holes in my life :)

Fecking Pringles really get my goat £2.25 per tube when they're not on offer - who pays that? Yes they're nice but not £2.25 nice.

WorraLiberty · 27/04/2012 20:19

My mate was boasting the other day that she tipped a whole bag of Walkers crisps in her mouth at once.

I said, "Yeah that's nothing. I once put 4 crisps in my mouth at once....."

ChaoticAngel · 27/04/2012 20:21

Grin Worra

YANBU but it's like everything else, prices just keep on going up.

Btw they do still do fruit polos

misslinnet · 27/04/2012 20:23

It's annoying that they're so expensive, because I really like them, but.... they are also really unhealthy Sad

So in a way it's good the price has gone up as it means I can't afford to eat them as much!

maddiemostmerry · 27/04/2012 20:23

I can remember when crisps cost 5p a pack.

Yum, to fruit polo, not seen them for ages, I preferred trebor mints though. Can you still get refreshers? (70's haze coming on)

BibiBlocksberg · 27/04/2012 20:25

Wow! How the other half live WorraLiberty - 4 AT ONCE?

And walkers too?

TUT! Every economy crisp is carefully eeked out here - one lick, place on kitchen towel for drying, rep-place in bag, repeat.

Makes an economy packet last about a week (on average) Grin

WorraLiberty · 27/04/2012 20:26

I remember when crisps were 3p a pack

I used to get 3p per day pocket money

Then they went up to 4p a pack and my Mum gave me a raise Grin

Fuck, I really am only 43yrs old I swear Blush

rhondajean · 27/04/2012 20:26

It's all wrong - 50 to 60 p for a single pack and yet you can go to any supermarket and buy a giant fat git sharing bag for a pound depending what is on offer.

And we wonder why there is an obesity crisis??

WorraLiberty · 27/04/2012 20:27

I'll try that

I just hope to god I get my lick before the dog does Grin

NagooIsBuildingAnArk · 27/04/2012 20:28

fruit polos 50p a tube plus postage

ChaoticAngel · 27/04/2012 20:31

Is that how much they are?

I've been buying mine from the cafe at our local college.

WorraLiberty · 27/04/2012 20:32

My local shop sells them

They still stick together so you have to bite them like a stick of rock.

Groovee · 27/04/2012 20:33

70p for a packet of Brannigans Ham and Pickle in our costcutter

StateofConfusion · 27/04/2012 20:34

Have you noticed walkers multipacks bags are smaller, in asda today a 6pk was £1, next to it same flavour, 6pk £1.99.

They do 'fuller' bags I shit you not.

BanalChelping · 27/04/2012 20:52

I can remember when you could get 10 regal kingsize and a box of matches for what a packet of crisps costs these days. I am old and had a misspent youth Grin

RinkyDinkyDoo · 27/04/2012 20:56

Yep,my friend and I would go halves on a 10 pack of regal kingsize- 32 and a half pence each-75p for a pack of 10.:o

YANBU. prices must depend where you live? I get Angry if a bottle of water is over £1

mumofjust1 · 27/04/2012 21:03

80p for a regular sized pack of walkers in my local WH Smith Confused

myheadsamarley · 27/04/2012 21:08

ive noticed the some of the multipacks in the local poundshop (cant remember which one) are selling '5' packs for the price a '6' pack used to be! AND..... they then stick in '1 extra free based on 6 for the price of 5' !! Shock
quoting writing on pack verbatim, I promise
