Just out of curiosity really. Interesting to know how other children are getting on compared to DD.

friday windup? yawn

WorraLiberty · 27/04/2012 18:44

That really fucks me off to be honest.

What does another child's private business have to do with you?

I mean, it doesn't affect your child does it?

When my DS2 was 8yrs old. He went to his friend's house for tea and caught his friend's Mum actually reading his school report that she'd taken out of his bag Hmm

Mrsjay · 27/04/2012 18:44

you mean you want to see if friend is in a higher reading group than your daughter , maybe have a peek then get your dd to catch friend Grin

5318008 · 27/04/2012 18:45

Nasty thing to do

Competitive mummy, horrid

SauvignonBlanche · 27/04/2012 18:45

mamalovesmojitos · 27/04/2012 18:46

Yabu. Focus on your own dcs.

WorraLiberty · 27/04/2012 18:47

Oh just noticed the cowardly name change

I thought it said 'Cant hel plooking' Grin

Gotta love Fridays....

Mrsjay · 27/04/2012 18:47

Did you slap her round the chops with the report worra nosy witch ,

Groovee · 27/04/2012 18:47

Then get yourself all upset cos your precious baby is further behind little Tarquin/Dorothy? I wouldn't but if you're happy to ruin your weekend if they're higher than your child...

PigeonPair · 27/04/2012 18:48

Yes it is tempting but it is one of those things you JUST DON'T DO!

WorraLiberty · 27/04/2012 18:51

I was tempted Mrsjay

And secretly pleased it was DS2 because every teacher said he was a pleasure to teach unlike my other two Grin

TalHotBlond · 27/04/2012 18:51

Get a grip. Grin

Wellthen · 27/04/2012 18:54

Is it that tempting? She's one child, her ability means nothing in relation to your child as she doesnt represent the rest of the class. If you want to know, ask her teacher.

Or admit the fact that you want to know how this child is getting on and it actually has nothing to do with your child.

Mrsjay · 27/04/2012 18:54

WHen my eldest was in primary a Mum used to open up her dds report and read it out loud then ask if she could read X Y Z i think somebody complained because next report was posted out , I dont know why its important to somebody that X is cleverer (not a word i know ) than Y , what does it matter or to coin a recent thread MEH Wink

kilmuir · 27/04/2012 18:55

No interest to me

ilovesprouts · 27/04/2012 18:56

its non of your beeswax yabu

sandyboots · 27/04/2012 18:59

YABU and in need of a life of your own

LooLilly · 27/04/2012 19:00

I've never thought of doing that. Very rude IMO.

Surely you wouldn't learn much from a bookbag anyway. Nothing in my infant/primary DCs bags indicates what groups they are in.

If anyone was brave enough to put their hands into DS1s (year 7) bag I would give them a medal.

BananasInBloomers · 27/04/2012 19:11

I wouldnt be tempted. I do enough looking at my own DCs schoolwork,I couldn't be arsed to look at another childs work.

Floggingmolly · 27/04/2012 19:15

It's like the old maxim of eavesdroppers never hearing any good of themselves; Sod's law dictates the bag will belong to the class genius and you'll spend the weekend feeling really inadequate on your dc's behalf.
And it would serve you bloody well right too Hmm. How is your dc's progress affected by how well anyone else is doing? Mind your own business.

BumpingFuglies · 27/04/2012 19:25

Why? Confused

canthelplooking · 27/04/2012 19:37

No-one else has ever looked. I am the only one.Really?

sensuallettuce · 27/04/2012 19:39

I have done this - 10 YEARS ago and I feel thoroughly ashamed ......

FruitPastillesForever · 27/04/2012 19:39

Very rude and pathetic, what does it really matter to you... You must have a very strange outlook on life.

exoticfruits · 27/04/2012 19:46

Of course not, cathelplooking. I think it is dreadful to do it just because it is a child, they deserve privacy too. I never see the point. Now you know- so what? What use is it? At least you ought to be ashamed, it is like rifling through a friend's handbag- however perhaps you do that too.
