Am I the only one to name school gate parents/minders?

Inspired by all the school threads I'm just wondering if I am the only one who nicknames other schoolgaters? In my head, not out loud.

Theres MrsLoudParenting. Everyone in a five mile radius knows how brilliant her DC is doing.
Theres MrsBuggy. She was the widest range of buggies I've ever seen.
Theres MrSuit. He always looks immaculate.
Theres DiscoMinder. She looks like shes off to a nightclub.
Theres TheDesignerPosse. Always decked out, head to toe.
Then theres us The IfItsCleanI'llWearIt gang.

yes - I tend to smile and chat to other parents!

which probably makes me Mrs Overfriendly in you book!

MrsTerryPratchett · 27/04/2012 18:36

How many buggies does MrdBuggy have? DH says 4 is too many and I disagree.

WorraLiberty · 27/04/2012 18:37

Haha I recognise all of those people in your list Grin

BananasInBloomers · 27/04/2012 18:37

Chat is fine. Asking personal stuff is a bit Confused . I had one of them in DC1 class. Asked how much my rent was at DC birthday party.

Not nick names as such but if described as follows then will always be recognised by my friend.

  • the one who's lost all that weight
  • the one who always wears high heels
  • the smelly one who wears a long dress
  • the skinny one that's a druggy
  • that bloke who always wears shorts

I must be odd - seriously i have never done this!

TheOneWithTheHair · 27/04/2012 18:40

Grin MrsTerryPratchett. I hope you are joking? Four? How many dcs do you have?

I have Mrs Two Faced at dd's school. She is very smiley to my face, goes out of her way to be friendly etc.
As soon as my back is turned she can't wait to slag me off to the other mums who then tell me because they think it's funny that I don't care.

maxtrue · 27/04/2012 18:40

Mine are so much meaner (mine and another bitchy friend)

We had - toothy (she had very bad teeth)

Miss insignificant (never smiled and only spoke to you if she wanted to know something and never ever asked "how are you") she was also dull and small and wore boring clothes

Am sure we had more....

BananasInBloomers · 27/04/2012 18:42

Calma just join in some conversations. If they are not friendly back then don't bother chatting to them again. I always make an effort to chat to someone on their own.

maxtrue · 27/04/2012 18:43

actually not that mean now (shock)

cheesesarnie · 27/04/2012 18:43

maxtrue · 27/04/2012 18:43

maxtrue · 27/04/2012 18:44
Shock
TheOneWithTheHair · 27/04/2012 18:44

Square brackets maxtrue. :)

IAmBooyhoo · 27/04/2012 18:44

i dont really do that but there are a few characters i giggle at when i see them.

there are two sister parents who collect their dc together. i see them around town aswell and they are always together and always wearing identical purple coats, pale denim jeans and trainers. i'm not sure if they are twins but tehy do look really alike. it just makes me laugh how 'together' they are.

also there is a dad who wears the same t-shirt, trousers and coat all the time. they are trendy river island type clothes and i'm guessing he just likes that style but really the same t-shirt? when does it ever get washed? (he doesn't look dirty BTW so i'm guessing he washes it every night) it's just funny to see the same clothes every day.

maxtrue · 27/04/2012 18:44

got it

BananasInBloomers · 27/04/2012 18:45

Its lots of fun gordy .
Theres also MrsRings who has lovely jewellry. I want her accesories.

OP posts:
TheOneWithTheHair · 27/04/2012 18:47

We also have Mrs Wag Wannabe. Complete with fake boobs, eyelashes the lot. She makes no secret of her desire and she looks like Barbie. It always makes me Grin because she is actually a mounted police woman and is also wellard. Shock

BananasInBloomers · 27/04/2012 18:47

I'm sure I'm labelled as the one who always wears a dress. Or the one who is always rummaging in her handbag.
