to think Sun readers are as lowlife as the hackers

That's it really. Anyone who is aware of the Sun's treatment of people such as Millie Dowler's parents, and of Ann Diamond is as complicit and scuzzy as the people at the Sun who condoned it.

Limited

Sky arts is absolute filth those pre-Raphaelites with all those breasts on display....

Aboutlastnight · 27/04/2012 18:42

"SUPER CALEY GO BALLISTIC, CELTIC ARE ATROCIOUS."

Classic Sun Headline

"Up Yours Delores" hilarious

"Werewolf seized in Southend" PMSL

"I'm only here for De Beers" -ROFL

I know it's a horrible sexist right wing rag. But I love the headlines, some very clever people work there.

DonnaDoon · 27/04/2012 18:59

I must admit I read both The Sun and The Daily Mail(runs and hides) After reading this thread I realize how ignorant I am to the disgusting treatment of the Dowlers etc and off topic The DM have been terrible lately for slating little Suri Cruise and Lauryn Goodgers weight...I must listen to Mothers advice and not even use them as loo roll.

AutumnSummers · 27/04/2012 19:02

I stopped buying The Sun in protests after the phone hacking. And I stopped buying all papers not long after

WorraLiberty · 27/04/2012 19:05

I stopped buying tabloids in the 90's when Windsor Castle caught fire.

"See photos on pages 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 17, 18, 19 and 20....and don't miss the special fire pullout with tomorrow's edition"

It was a fucking fire for fuck's sake...how many photos do they think I need to see?

donnie · 27/04/2012 19:53

wasn't there a headline around 3 years ago when Frank Bruno was having a lot of problems with depression which said something like "Bruno sent to loony bin" ? I am sure the word 'loony' was contained in the headline. I believe the fragrant Ms Brooks was the editor at the time. That is just one example of why people should not read the sun. IMO that's not very far off from saying 'Pki' or 'Ni*er'.

Anyway as usual the discussion has become circular but I agree entirely with the OP and sardineQueen

donnie · 27/04/2012 19:55

It was 'Bonkers Bruno locked up'. I just googled 'sun censured over Bruno headline'. It was in 2003.

How tasteful.

HillyWallaby · 27/04/2012 19:57

It was 'bonkers'. The offending comment was Bonkers Bruno iirc.

My favourite Sun headline Hmm was from about 1986 I think. It said '10 reasons why we hate the French'. One of the reasons was that they stink of garlic.

Nancy66 · 27/04/2012 20:40

The Sun's not PC and never tries to be.

'Bonkers' is a phrase lots of people use. Sure in the leftie, idealistic politically correct world of Mumsnet nobody uses words like: looney, nutter, bonkers etc...

out in the real world, meanwhile, plenty of people do.

kittyandthefontanelles · 27/04/2012 21:31

I boycott it and all linked media. I believe no self-respecting scouser would do anything else. However, for me it goes beyond "the truth". I agree with Sardine, shame she's gone, she talked a lot of sense.
