to think Sun readers are as lowlife as the hackers

That's it really. Anyone who is aware of the Sun's treatment of people such as Millie Dowler's parents, and of Ann Diamond is as complicit and scuzzy as the people at the Sun who condoned it.

hairy lemon, please say you wrote "ejucational" in an ironic way 'cos otherwise I'm afraid lots of peoples' opinions of the intelligence of Sun read-ers will be justified!

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 27/04/2012 14:50

Perhaps the chippy's wrap the chips in copies of The Sun?

Guinnessisgoodforyou · 27/04/2012 14:50

Agree with the OP 100%.

WorraLiberty · 27/04/2012 14:51

Perhaps it was a typo and she meant "ejaculational"?

hairylemon · 27/04/2012 14:52

Ah shit, I did spell it wrong you are right, I meant ejucayshunal

hairylemon · 27/04/2012 14:53

Worra

HipHopOpotomus · 27/04/2012 14:55

YABU & a bit thick

AKMD · 27/04/2012 14:56

YANBU, totally agree. Anyone who buys pornography is scuzzy in my view.

Pornography aside, it is incomprehensible to me why anyone buys a red top newspaper. They aren't exactly 'news' heavy and why would anyone want to read articles that are mostly hear-say and harassment-sourced anyway? I hate the Sun and everything it stands for.

HipHopOpotomus · 27/04/2012 15:08

Quoting the OP
"Anyone who is aware of the Sun's treatment of people such as Millie Dowler's parents, and of Ann Diamond is as complicit and scuzzy as the people at the Sun who condoned it."

OP you are aware, I am aware, no doubt the Queen is aware. So we are all scuzzy? How on earth does being aware make us complicit in the Suns actions?

moogster1a · 27/04/2012 15:12

Obviously, the implication was Sun purchasers who are aware are complicit. Sweet Lord, there's not much rational thinking that goes on by these Sun readers, is there.

OP posts:
hairylemon · 27/04/2012 15:16

Sun Readers as per your title surely OP?

Dropdeadfred · 27/04/2012 15:30

I don't read the sun ... In our home just the fact it had page 3 made it unwelcome reading in my parents eyes. I have never bought it but have occasionally picked it up to glance at on the train.. I'm always astounded at how bad it really is..

HipHopOpotomus · 27/04/2012 15:54

So because I think YABU I must be a Sun reader?

Just to clarify it's Sun Readers AND Purchasers WITH AWARENESS who are scuzzy but NOT online readers (who click on links) or people who read random copies of the Sun at chippies, waiting rooms etc (do they have them in waiting rooms anymore).

So what about the Queen then?

Trying ever so hard to follow your RATIONAL thinking on the matter .....

HipHopOpotomus · 27/04/2012 15:58

What about people who have awareness of the whole Sun situation re Milly Dowler etc, but STILL read the Sun in chippies/chip wrappers OR via random links to online Sun articles?

They are not purchasers of the physical paper, or the Queen.

Scuzzy?

LtEveDallas · 27/04/2012 16:02

Sue, H4H isn't run by the Sun, no, but it was the Sun that gave it the front page and bought it to the world wide stage. Sarah's Law was pushed by News International and again got it into the public eye. Of course they did it for the readership, to line their own pockets, but at least they did it.

Jobs for Heroes was started up by the Sun as was the Millies.

So I can see why a lot of forces personnel and their families might buy the Sun, it doesn't make those people Scum or Scuzzy though.

In fact what about the Sun's £10 holidays? There will be a lot of impoverished people out there that buy the Sun for the tokens won't there?

I think it's a horrible generalisation to call all these people scuzzy. Horrible and unfair.

I think the Daily Mail's bigotry is disgusting.
I think the Daily Express's treatment of the McCann's was disgraceful.

I don't call their readers names though.

Nancy66 · 27/04/2012 16:09

It was the News of the World that hacked Milly Dowler's voicemail - not The Sun.

carernotasaint · 27/04/2012 16:09

Sorry only just caught this thread. In response to Voidka on page 1.
Yes the Sun is supportive of disabled people but they are very selective about their support.
If you are or became disabled as a civilian you are seen as a benefit cheat in their eyes.

Aboutlastnight · 27/04/2012 17:27

If your objection is based on phone hacking I would avoid BSkyB and The Times too.

And I agree the Daily Express is a fucking disgrace especially it's long running anti asylum seeker stories.

LtEveDallas · 27/04/2012 17:37

Aboutlastnight has a good point OP. Just so you know, you may wish to lable people who use the services of any of this attached list as 'Scuzzy'

NewsCorps

Nancy66 · 27/04/2012 17:45

If the objection is distortion of facts/stories and the use of subterfuge then you shouldn't read any papers at all.
Neither should you watch TV

limitedperiodonly · 27/04/2012 17:55

Is Sky Arts scuzzy?

ABatInBunkFive · 27/04/2012 18:09

I think someone hasn't quite thought this through. Wink

DreamingofSummer · 27/04/2012 18:18

and no-one has even mentioned "The Truth" about Hillsborough.

Nasty, shitty little rag

LtEveDallas · 27/04/2012 18:21
