To be TERRIFIED of having a bikini wax?

I thought I'd be braver now I've been through childbirth, but am still too wimpy to have a bikini wax and have just cancelled an appointment to have one on Monday. How pathetic am I being? Are they as bad as I think?

Not talking pornstar type wax, just a tidy up.

Ooh no, don't get anything waxed OP. It hurts!
I trim my bush, and have a pleasingly neat triangle. I agree with the male poster-it points the way nicely-This way! and keeps my fanjo nice and warm

Pubic topiary is the way forward! Even made my DH go for a BSC (back ,sack and crack ). He won't do it again, but neither will he complain about my hairy legs

fatfinger · 17/04/2012 21:27

There's lots of ridiculous talk on this thread but it is mostly hilarious. This is my opinion:

I like to get waxed throughly because receiving oral sex is much, much more pleasurable when there is no hair acting as a barrier between his mouth and my genitals.

Who gives a toss what feminists think about waxing when you're getting great oral sex?!

Wow! Had no idea bikini waxing was such an emotive topic! Brilliant comments.

As much as I would greatly admire a woman who proudly displayed thick pubes growing 4 inches either side of her swimming costume (yes, it really IS that bad), I really don't have the confidence or swagger to pull that off. I would just like not to have to show strangers my pubic hair and am not quite ready to go down the board shorts route!

Shave? Veet?

seeker · 17/04/2012 22:21

Ok. Th have now been perfectly sensible practical reasons for removing the hair that protrudes from a bikini bottom. And for removing the hair round the vagina. Nobody has yet come up with an equally sensible reason for what I thought this thread was about- which is removing all the pubic hair - or all but a half inch strip. Which, frankly, looks bloody ridiculous!

"I like to get waxed throughly because receiving oral sex is much, much more pleasurable when there is no hair acting as a barrier between his mouth and my genitals."

I can confirm that precisely the same effect may be achieved by a nice close trim or strim, with much less expense, pain and bother. No need to thank me

RichTeaAreCrap · 17/04/2012 22:34

Do they trim the remaining hair too when you go for a wax?

noblegiraffe · 17/04/2012 22:38

If a bikini wax is removing the bits around the edges, where does hygiene come into it? Confused

The mind boggles ever so slightly at the sort of technique that involves administering oral sex through a curtain of pubes. Shock

Still, you'd save on floss, I suppose...
