It seems a long way, but that's where the school is?

Any thoughts?

Sorry everlong I was only genuinely trying to help having gone through a similar dilemma in the last half term myself. I guess that all the OP has to do is satisfy herself with her decision.

Sara there is a school bus to Indy from the age of 7, the stop is a 5 min walk from home.

Yes it's true I am keeping all my options open, but a decision will have to be made soon, otherwise I'm going to go crackers! Grin

My only other thought would be to ask the school how many of their pupils commute a similar distance. Missing out on local-to-school playdates/brownies etc is only a problem if your child is the only one missing out. IME most children at private schools are being driven in and whilst there will be a number who are very local, there are plenty who are not, and socially it isn't a problem. I would guess the school bus provision tells me that they have a lot of commuters, so I wouldn't worry too much on that score, but worth asking the question.

Also if this is the start of school life, then you have plenty of time in which to consider whether a house move is desirable. Especially as you ponder your secondary school options.
