Pushed over the edge by benefit cheats!

I'm getting increasingly annoyed with my neighbours family, we're very close and have been for a long time, but they are just so loose cheeky it makes me want to do something! But at the same time I don't know if I should just mind my own!!

My neighbour has three daughters;

Daughter 'A' lives in a council property with her children and claims all her entitled benefits as a single parent. Her long term boyfriend also lives with her, and he works full time earning a lot of money. He owns his own property which they rent out to make more cash for themselves!

Daughter 'B' lives in a council property with her son and claims benefits as a single person, although her partner also lives there and works full time.

Daughter 'C' (this is what's really pissed me off today!). She is married and lives with her husband and children in their own (mortgaged) property. They both work and earn good money. She however has made a dodgy application to the council housing list and has been offered a property which they are goin to accept! They plan to sell their home!

It annoys the hell out of me that so much money is being fraudulently claimed, and that it is clearly so easy to do. I really want to dob the cheeky bastards in, although am abit scared they'll find out it was me! And don't know if I should just mind my own beeswax!

Am curious now. How the fuck does having your name on the Sky bill prove you contribute anything?

As I said, my DHs name is on our Sky bill, but he doesn't pay for it. He doesn't pay any of the bills, but some are in his name as you sometimes need a utility bill for ID, so we split them.

@BeerTricksPott3r

Leg it! It's the Fuzz!

I wish I had a siren and blue flashing lights. That would be cool (and win me MAJOR brownie points with DS1) Grin

"She should be paid enough to be able to take care of her kids until they are at the stage of marriage/adoption/common-law equivalents." "Paid by who? That's the problem. Where is all this money coming from to fund all these benefits? At the moment it isn't coming from anywhere."

Men? You know, the children's actual fathers?

My ExH pays a fraction of his salary towards raising his own children - and offers an even tinier fraction of his time and efforts.

He has a lovely lifestyle.

The taxpayer through tax credits pays more than he does to raising his children. (I work full-time, but sadly the pay isn't great.)

Now that seems like a national fraud to me.

any way,do you know how they carried out my investigation for benefit fraud, and TWICE this has happened the same way.

i had a letter from a compliance officer, said they would be around approx 10days from letter, man came round said somebody had reported me for having a named boyfriend living/staying with me,asked me if this was true,i said no it wasnt

i told him he was free to look around etc,he said was no need and said they get alot of malicious calls and that was that,he said they do have to check each report

of he went and that was it,he took my word for it,now that seems very slack, but i suppose unless they watch each individual person investigated how can they prove it,its expensive to prove and time consumming

this has happened twice always the same drill

No, I think women should not have children with men that they know in their heart of hearts will not make fathers.

Nice. You're blaming women for men not taking responsibility for their children.

Do you actually know any single mothers? They don't all have children with the skull-tattooed-on-face boy who appears on Jeremy Kyle you know. Absent fathers can be men like anyone else who just happen to have walked out on their families.

thekidsrule · 09/04/2012 19:45

cant be bothered to read

thekidsrule · 09/04/2012 19:46

Beer, they must do,i was shocked how they just took my word for it

LineRunner · 09/04/2012 19:48

Karl Marx is all mine.

Him and Pizza Man. In the bath.

Peachy · 09/04/2012 19:48

We don't even HAVE sky but Dh contributes- well everything barring my carers and tax credits.

Not sure what that contributes to the thread but hey ho Wink

Dawndonna has your Carers not gone up to £58? Mine ahs, works out a fab 17p per hour 9with 2 disabled kids) now instead of the previous 16.54p! PARTAY!

As for the stuff about 'we can't afford' well sorry but I paid NI all the time I was working, in fact I do now because of having a business registered when though I never get to do much with it. As long as they are able to fund Olympics and royals and the rest I won't feel overly bad.

Peachy · 09/04/2012 19:49

'No, I think women should not have children with men that they know in their heart of hearts will not make fathers.

'

I will tell my mate that.

Whose partner died of a brain haemorrhage.

Should have picked a better parent to their children.

I was married to my DC's father.

Didn't know he was going to walk out. He left the marriage easier than I could get his name off the gas bill.

CrystalMaize · 09/04/2012 19:53

Peachy Sad

LineRunner · 09/04/2012 19:53

I think OP's gone. It's just a strangely evolved thing now.

Thank God for that. I saw an MNHQ name on the thread and thought it was going to be deleted. We're having far too much fun for that.

Ah, thought so, Shirl. It's best to be accurate, but it's still a mortal large number of job-hunters. Tell DS2 and 3 about it - they've been job-hunting for at least a year.

(That's a thought. Bet there's a neighbour poised to report me for all the blokes who drift in and out of my house. Tough luck if so; not only are the only ones who stay here my sons, but I'm not even claiming single parent status at the moment. Although I will if I ever get off my arse to sort it. Preferably before I run completely out of money.)

ShirleyKnot · 09/04/2012 19:56

You're not wrong Crystal.

I was married as well and when we got married and had babies I didn't for one moment imagine that we would split up, and the idea that he would leave and never pay a single penny towards his children never occurred to me.

Fucking Future Looking Machine. Why must they be so unreliable?

3/5 of RPs receive no financial support, yet lone parents are reserved for quite the vilest sort of snide shite from people who ought to no better. It's baffling.

thekidsrule · 09/04/2012 19:56

she never came back, alas this is a regular thing
