Am at OOH GP. In agony.

Just watched child of about 8 say 'fuck off you fucking bitch' to his mum. To which his mum laughed.

Couple who arrived 30 mins after me (there's still about 13 people in front of me...) are now screaming at receptionist for the delay and threatening to write to their MP. Apparently he has a Very Painful Ingrowing Toenail which needs Urgent Medical Attention..

ramblinrose · 08/04/2012 20:50

There may be sweary kids, but Derbyshire is a lovely county.

MissVerinder · 08/04/2012 21:00

I'm just over the border in Notts!

My gran was in Bozer hospital for ages, and man I came across some treasures in that place!

Stranded, Chatsworth is gorgeous, I would get married there too, but maybe Clumber? It depends on the weather.

Hope you are ok OP, I did have some tramadol but had to take it back as it had gone out of date :( Maybe there is a pharmacy open on emergency near you, or call the hospital pharmacy and see if they can help. I know someone who got a prescription this way, but it was for morphine.

iamaLeafontheWind · 08/04/2012 21:09

Ooo Stranded & Hecate live near me!!!

Looks for someone to tell, realises no-one else in RL has a clue what I'm on about.

Second vote for the Peacock in Rowsley, tis gorgeous.

HorribleDay · 08/04/2012 21:09

Trying the 'relax/bottle/drugs' route at mo - and eating telco finest chipolatas yum :) There's a pharmacy open at 10 tomo so hoping to get through next 13 hours - DS flat out and luckily a very good sleeper, DH going to get up with him in morning. If it gets worse I think I'll prob have to go to hosp - if it stays same can manage at home til morning.

Chatsworth is amazing - one of DS's face places (the farm, he's 16 months so less keen on the house but v v keen on the ornaments...)

I once visited Swadlincote, the 'Swandlincote Festival'. If I hadn't visited so many other beautiful areas of Derbyshire before this would have definitely had me running from the hills.

HorribleDay · 08/04/2012 21:10

I do too! I do too! (you're all lovely. Don't want to start a riot...)

DH is proposing Westleas as a not so nice Derbyshire village - he says 'Hello! And Westleas would make a holiday in Homs look attractive'.

DH is a community nurse - he knows all the places to avoid (which is why we can't find a new frigging house...)

Iamaleaf, you can tell me, I think I live quite near too!

LizaTarbucksAuntie · 08/04/2012 21:23

Horrible - worth trying ibuprofen and codeine if you can get to a supermarket with a pharmacy.

Groovee · 08/04/2012 21:29

My friend's just been to A&E where there was a man who kept taking photo's of himself! He was oblivious to all the sniggering going on round about him.

My poor friend's youngest was a terror when she was little. She's better now. But there was one incident on a bus when her daughter said loudly "bitch" and when her mum didn't respond, said "Oi Bitch did you hear me?" My poor friend was mortified while all the people round about tutted.

FeathersMcGraw · 08/04/2012 21:37

Swadlincote is pretty grim but they have chucked a load of money at it to pretty it up a bit. I'm in one of the surrounding villages but head into Ashby mostly (except when I'm doing an Aldi shop :) )

FeathersMcGraw · 08/04/2012 21:38

Oh, and the Swad OOH is hell on earth...

McHappyPants2012 · 08/04/2012 21:44

I hate it when people are nasty and rude to receptionist

ChippingInLovesEasterEggs · 08/04/2012 22:00

Horrible - I hope the drugs kick in soon and you get through the night at home! What you have sounds bloody awful... I hope you get it sorted out soon x

Rowgtfc72 · 08/04/2012 22:05

dps sister used to live in Bakewell and we visit Alfreton and Chatsworth quite a lot. We love the Monsal trail now the tunnels are open and we did spend an hour in Chesterfield OOH when dd was smaller(certainly interesting!) Thinking of going to stay somewhere reasonable near Chatsworth for a weekend after we get married. Anyone know any posh but not too pricey hotels / b and b/? Pleased you got out ok Op.

iamaLeafontheWind · 08/04/2012 22:05
