to think that liquid soaps should be in a proper, non branded dispenser in people's bathrooms?

I find it so rude that this "advertising" is thrown at me whilst visiting other people's "conveniences". If one buys a particular brand, why should I be faced with it in one's cloakroom. AIBU? I think not.

Absolutely not!

We decant ours into a wall mounted thingy, but only for the sake of aesthetics, not because I don't want to advertise! Grin

BakersDozen · 01/04/2012 20:59

fuck me, is this all you have to worry about???????

RachelWalsh · 01/04/2012 21:00

What is liquid soap? I have a servant whose job it is to cleanse my hands with Egyptian cotton cloths. I have no idea what she uses as frankly such matters are beneath me. How strange that you don't have such a person.

Anniegetyourgun · 01/04/2012 21:01

I can't help feeling that people who decant their soap from a perfectly usable container into a "proper" one because they don't want to see the brand name have rather too much time on their hands (and too much soap on their hands if they're a bit clumsy with it).

Stratters · 01/04/2012 21:02

Actually, I always assume the decanters are using cheap stuff.

UnChartered · 01/04/2012 21:02

you make a good point though, OP

may i suggest when visiting next time you remove and decant all the contents to the incorrect bottles?

that'll learn 'em

RachelWalsh · 01/04/2012 21:02

This is actually a joke though, isn't it?

SydSaid · 01/04/2012 21:03

Absolutely.

And all biscuits should be taken out of their wrappers.

All towels should have their labels cut off.

All magazines and newspapers they have should have the headings removed.

All beer cans should have a slipcover and all wine bottles soaked and the labels removed prior to any visitor entering the house.

It's just awful what we are subjected to while visiting other people's houses. Sometimes they don't even cover up the brand name on their television!

CrystalMaize · 01/04/2012 21:03

I have a maid whose job it is to decant the "refill" packs into my dispensers. Could you tell me about your servant please Rachel? Although I'm not sure "servant" is a very nice way to describe your employees.

Stratters · 01/04/2012 21:04

This has to be one of the dullest attempts at trolling I've ever seen. Hmm

my very first ever Biscuit

myalias · 01/04/2012 21:05

I will have my Molton Brown liquid soap displayed on my cloakroom shelf thank you!

KateSpade · 01/04/2012 21:05

Bree Van Dekampf on speed springs to mind...

This is the strangest thing I've ever seen someone be offended about...

CrystalMaize · 01/04/2012 21:08

I do feel put out if it's "budget brand" though.

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 01/04/2012 21:12

April Fool's ends at noon, you're late and I have a proper dispenser for the soap Grin

CrystalMaize · 01/04/2012 21:13

L'Occitane is acceptable Duffy. It is rather rude to display it though.

hiddenhome · 01/04/2012 21:13

Crikey, we're still using blocks of carbolic Confused

GeraldineHoHoHobergine · 01/04/2012 21:14

I agree. Normally to counter this devious brain washing I simply do a dirty protest all over their bathroom, snidey, soap pushing, subliminal bastards.

CrystalMaize · 01/04/2012 21:14

Gosh, hiddenhome, how do you get that into a dispenser?
