The one from Fathers4Justice, where they accuse MN of:

"carrying abusive and distressing anti-male content which promotes gender hatred against men and boys"
and, apparently, labels "men and boys as rapist, peados and wife beaters."

The ad has a lovely picture of a sad little boy with words like "rioter" and "homeless" and "sperm bank" written on his skin.

I am confused, as I have never come across a thread on here where people routinely call men paedophiles and rapists. In fact, usually, if someone implies that a man being left alone with a child is dodgy, posters will pile in and say "God, don't you know not all men are paedos.?"

As I understand it, this is a forum for discussion, not a political movement with a manifesto. There are many and varied opinions on MN, and the minute one opinion is aired, another will be along to refute it.

Or should I just laugh at F4J? The ad is quite gruesomely funny.

Very disturbing all round really!

So, F4J post that ad MN FB wall - Mnetters criticise their ad as disturbing, and criticise F4J - MN thread started about it here - F4J invade MN forum with all sorts of horrible comments about 'wimmin lying' like our friend just did here - F4J complain of MN 'gender hatred' - F4J target M&S for advertising with MN.

It's like some bizarre Orwellian plot!

dollymixtures · 16/03/2012 22:12

Oh. Well no, there aren't any that I've seen I've seen some saying that men can't help raping cos they have needs, if that's any good?

Unfortunately the only one I can pinpoint to a specific poster was posted by someone who also posted in support of F4J...

Chubfuddler · 16/03/2012 22:13

I don't understand your last post absent. It really doesn't make any sense.

If you are mning from a laptop or pc or notebook, I'd be really grateful if you could search for me and find a post which states all men are rapists.

dollymixtures · 16/03/2012 22:14

Erm, AW which thread were you reading? Because I lurked on that from the beginning and if you were shocked by any posts on there then you have really led a sheltered life.

For the benefit of those who didn't read the thread, mostly the deleted ones were libellous although of course libellous doesn't necessarily mean untrue...

Chubfuddler · 16/03/2012 22:15

Libels are by their very nature untrue, actually.

DioneTheDiabolist · 16/03/2012 22:15

I find it very interesting that when f4j finally get the money and initiative to launch an advertising campaign, do they target the outdated laws or draconian court systems they blame for estranging from their children?

No, they target a lone parent charity and a predominantly female website. They seem more intent on making the lives of lone parents and women difficult, than doing anything that will help children get fair access to both parents.

MrGin · 16/03/2012 22:17

I suspect the rapist thing has it's roots in the

'all men are potential rapists' phrase which has cropped up in debates on MN

I know it's not the same as saying all men are rapists, and before I get a flame thrower in my ear, I don't agree with the ad, I've nothing to do with F4J , but it is a contentious phrase that can cause offense.

SardineQueen · 16/03/2012 22:17

posts in blue?

dollymixtures · 16/03/2012 22:18

Chubfuddler, morally I agree unfortunately legally in the UK that isn't always the case.

flippinada · 16/03/2012 22:18

That's a very good point Dione.

I suspect bullying women is probably an area they have a lot of experience in.

And something tells they really don't like women who won't go away and answer back.

SweetLilyTea · 16/03/2012 22:19

Yes, Dione, I get that too.....

No Chub, they cant be PROVED to be true, there is a difference.

SardineQueen · 16/03/2012 22:20

Boys though?

MNers think boys are rapists etc?

Odd.

flippinada · 16/03/2012 22:22

Yes SQ it is peculiar, as an awful lot of MNers have sons....well, its 50/50 isn't it?

SardineQueen · 16/03/2012 22:34

Not you personally

I don;t know who you are

the F4J posters on the other thread scared off someone who has been posting for 6 years. Someone who had politics that I deeply disagreed with, but was otherwise a good egg. Now she's gone.

A result for F4J.

Sorry for the triple post I don't know what happened there I will report the other two.

SweetLilyTea · 16/03/2012 22:54

Lovely Mike's been zapped off the F4J page - and he was entirely reasonable wasn't he?

So, they're not wanting to debate, they don't tolerate a different viewpoint from their own. MN clearly do, as plenty of pro-F4J posts are left on the forums here.

So MN get my

Smile
SmellsLikeTeenStrop · 16/03/2012 22:55

Meh, I had a post deleted because it implied that reading comprehension wasn't a strong point amongst F4J members. That's pretty mild as far as insults go, but it was still deleted.

Spydii is a F4J member btw, and he had a post deleted, do you think he said something worse then 'potential rapist'?

Finally, even if mn members had been saying the worst anti-male things that you could imagine being said. The fact they were deleted means that F4J are not being honest in their claim that MNHQ are sitting back and letting the average member get away with making hateful anti-male speech. KWIM?
