I saw a nice top whilst out today, and i do like it alot, but i would also want a white pair of jeans to go with them. I like the top a lot, but i am not sure about paying £35 for it. I am trying to save for rent in advance and a deposit, but it looks like the council will have to house me. I am going for a family meal on sunday as well and have nothing to wear.

Is £35 a stupid amount to spend on a top? And should i just get a different colour to avoid buying a new pair of jeans?

Think i really need someone to say, no buy it for yourself...but doubt you will. Talk me into/ out of it please. So undecided!

Id love a free gym membership too. I have heard that you can get them on the NHS, but I cant see why they cant prescribe running to you Confused

GlueSticksEverywhere · 23/02/2012 10:14

Sorry haven't read whole thread. Why not look on Ebay and see if you can find the same top? I've done that before.

MyLittleMiracle · 23/02/2012 10:17

I sopend 24/7 with my little one and suffer from severe Post natal depression and anxiety issues, think the idea is the gym membership is for people who have helath problems and need to lose weigh ie those really over weight or whose health would benefit from exercise but needs to be done safely. IE, a heart attack victim (i know one), who put on weight cos of depression and being told not to do hardly anything. My purse is normally empty.....its got a couple or three pounds in it in case of emergency but thats all. I leave my bank card in doors unless i need food shopping.

I was in PJ's earlier....nt naked, but cant exactly wear them. Everything just seems old and tatty. Will have to wait and see. Phoning the council or claire today to find out whats going on with housig. I was supposed to have a decision monday.,

And the good news is that if I do have to go to court, my friend partners sister has a grey suit i can borrow, so just £4 in primarks for a blouse IF it comes to that. That is a BIG IF! So not so bad there. Suits even in primarks are quite expensive. And £4 isnt a big deal when it can impact a childs life sooo much.

I love my little one but i think we all sometimes need a little space. I probably wasnt cut out to be a mother, but i am and trying to keep on top of everything.

All of you with ill fitting bras - why not post the size you require and see if anyone can swap?

TheBigJessie · 23/02/2012 10:18

Well, why does any gym-user go to the gym, instead of running up and down the road outside their house?

I don't do exercise myself, but lots of people choose the gym, even when they have to have a direct debit for it.

Besides, should we be comparing the cost of a gym with running up and down the street? Perhaps we should compare it with anti-depressants.

MyLittleMiracle · 23/02/2012 10:19

They presribe gym membership so you dont over do it, and they sort of "check up" on you to make sure you are still going. As people quitespecially when depressed, they give it up.

TheBigJessie Id love to use the facilities at the gym, but cant afford it so do other forms of torture exercise. I would like use of a swimming pool and classes, but having to stick to running and shredding.

2ombie5layer · 23/02/2012 10:30

Also MyLittleMiracle dont want to be the bearer of bad news. You say you should have had a decision by monday, I was offered a house nearly 4 months ago and still bloody waiting for it to be ready. They were due the keys back 16th December so dont hold your breath.

Rindercella · 23/02/2012 10:31

Thank you for answering my question. Now, since you are answering questions directly, can I ask you why do you persist in using the real life names of people in your posts? As I understand it you have a dodgy ex who stalks you on here? Why do you risk outing yourself even more by providing such detail?

2ombie5layer Sounds like you're good at self-motivation!

Still, not everyone is. Especially when they're depressed.

ChickensHaveNoLips · 23/02/2012 10:55

I'm obviously missing something, because I don't see why the OP is getting such a hard time. Everyone sees things they wish they could have, but can't. Sometimes it gets right on your tits

2ombie5layer · 23/02/2012 10:56

I wasnt answering the bit about people with depression just why anyone goes to the gym instead of running. I was just saying I would if I could afford it due to having the combination of the gym, classes and swimming pool

Im not that motivated, but shhhhh

Punchthosecalories · 23/02/2012 10:56

ChickensHaveNoLips You are probably right, I shouldn't get on my highchair.

Punchthosecalories · 23/02/2012 10:59

2ombie5layer Maybe gym people in general live in rough areas where they don't feel safe running outside or they feel just more comfortable with machines telling them how fa they have progressed? I've exercised both in a gym and outside according to my environs.

2ombie5layer · 23/02/2012 11:03

Confused punch are you adding more reasons why people go to the gym instead of running or telling me that there is reasons why people go to the gym? Ive said Id rather go to a gym.

TheBigJessie · 23/02/2012 11:06

2ombie5layer ah, I get you now.

Actually, funny thing is, I expect a gym could even make me get off my fat arse, because of the twirly numbers going around, making me feel I was doing something.

Otherwise, a doctor could prescribe running around the park, and I would start off by manging to go around the park once a week. Then i would procrastinate, and think, "Well, I'll do it tomorrow." A month later... Next doctor's visit, I would look sheepish and mumble about "having had a go"

Punchthosecalories · 23/02/2012 11:08

¡Sorry! Misunderstood Grin

Ok in answering your question: IMO it is preferable to exercise outside in the fresh air and, if we can get it, sunshine with breeze.

2ombie5layer · 23/02/2012 11:09

Yey Grin I was a bit worried I wasnt explaining myself properly and just digging a hole.

£35 on a top is mad. I could easily afford that but would rather get a few tops from Primark/New Look etc.

I have loads of bras but only about 3 that are comfortable.

You need to prioritise!
