To hold Simon Cowell personally responsible for my daughters heartbreak

My daughter has a serious crush on Liam Payne in One Direction. I know it's rubbish music etc, etc, but a girl can't help she has a crush on! Lol. She's travelled to Paris with her dad, stood in a queue for nine hours, only for the band to turn up late, no one seemed to be in control, people who had only been there a little while managed to push in and she never even got a glimpse of them. They left pretty quickly as they had a flight booked. she knew it wasn't a dead cert she'd see them, she's a sensible 14 year old but AIBU to think that people like Simon Cowell make millions out of people like my daughter and it wouldn't hurt for his company to treat fans with a little bit more respect?

I think you need to get a grip. This is your second thread on this and having a go at Simon Cowell just makes you sound ridiculous.

Lisaro ooooh are you stalking me? What's wrong with wishing a child a little bit of happiness? Sorry, is Simon your crush?

Simon Cowell is a massive cunt shocka*

WonkyCatonkey · 14/02/2012 18:38

Yes, I wrote a thread asking, lightheartedly if people would share their crushes and spare a nice though, didn't realise being nice equated to needing to get a grip.......

I know who SC is but have never heard of Liam or One Direction so don't get what the connection is.

So did your dd turn up at a public event in the hope that she may catch a glimpse of Liam whatsit, but she didn't, or is there something I'm missing here?

lisaro · 14/02/2012 18:39

Lol, just saw it on the 'active' page. Why would you assume Simon is my crush just because I said you're ridiculous to blame him.

Your post isn't that clear. What was she queuing for? How come they weren't performing? I don't think I'd let a child of mine queue for that long just to see some random blokes.

coraltoes · 14/02/2012 18:41

I saw him once at Dallas airport. If I bump into him again I'll let him know about your daughter and her heartbreak. I'm sure he gives as much of a flying shit as most of us on here.

BeaHededd · 14/02/2012 18:42

Would tickets to a concert not have been cheaper and have guaranteed a glimpse?
Surely it was a long way to go on the off chance that she would see him and although she has my sympathy I don't think the blame can be laid at the lift inserted shoes of Mr Cowell.

coraltoes · 14/02/2012 18:42

That's Simon not Liam. Wouldn't know Liam from Adam. I there an Adam in the band?

anyone who queues for nine hours to catch a glimpse of a boy band before they board an aeroplane is mad.

Any parent who indulges this madness is worse.

WonkyCatonkey · 14/02/2012 18:45

They're his signing, lisaro he makes his money from fans, it would seem half decent to treat them a little bit fairly, and he WILL have something to do with that..... No he didn't send her an invite Locket, but his company was responsible for the lack of organisation.....

I blame the parents who indulge their DD so much that they schlepp to Paris just for a glimpse of them.

What's wrong with a poster above the bed FFS?
