I grew up in a family with a No Shame father - it just gets worse as they get older, I'm afraid! (Case from a few years ago: meeting in-laws for first time whilst at buffet carvery, appoaching the dessert table, slightly larger lady serving, father comes out with, "Well, I know who at all the pumpkin pies!" )
