for asking my chap to marry me on 29th- do I get him a ring? But chaps don't generally have engagement rings? Do I get my own ring ( will only be a cheapy thing either way but more of a token I guess )

he better bloody say yes! After 8 yrs, buying a crap house and having a baby (wonderful) together I think he probably will haha

haha yes after bathtime- dp going out to do some work afterwards and I will be in bed with ds as we cosleep at the mo- this was overtime that was scheduled for last week but got postponed to tomorrow -'my heart sank when dp said they had moved to the 29th and I almost called his boss (who is a good friend anyway) but then thought it increased the chance of dp finding out incase his boss let it slip and dp won't be leaving till after ds' bedtime anyway

have got cake and shloer to celebrate with as I bf and we aren't real drinkers anyway...

I told dh about this plan and like another poster he commented that if I had done this there would have been a very real possibility of him taking the vest off without even noticing what was written on it! Fingers crossed yours is more observant!

his ot has been postponed till thursday ! Yey!

I think I will either use a safety pin so dp has to wrestle with the vest and hence notice it - or say the ds has a new vest so he looks.

to be fair dp did notice that ds had a new vest on yestersay and that was plain white with a strip in the weave so there is hope!

Tootsweet, I see what you mean. My DH was fine about being married, but didn't really want to get married. If the marriage is more important to you than the wedding, then make him understand that. I would have been sad to get married without my friends/family present, but would have done it if that's what he really wanted. In the end we had a wedding with lots of people present, but ditched a lot of the formality that he hated and I wasn't bothered about. We had a great day.
