they are heroically accomplishing while being SAHMs (cooking, washing, ironing, etc) are being at best naive and at worst disingenuous. Who do they think does all that stuff in the non-SAHMs' households, house elves?

I'll be King of the road. I think I will need to smoke more.

CakeistheAnswer · 08/02/2012 15:16

Tried Hully's recipe.

It was delicious, thankyou.

boobiebrain · 08/02/2012 15:16

Duh, WOHM train their DHs to do the drudge or even better, get him to be SAHP.

Pagwaatch · 08/02/2012 15:16
Grin
Hullygully · 08/02/2012 15:17

Have you frozen the limbs?

CakeistheAnswer · 08/02/2012 15:19

Have minced them. Much tastier than that horrid cheap supermarket stuff.

tethersend · 08/02/2012 15:26

"I don't know about you, but I met very few nannies and even fewer cleaners, who were doing their jobs because they had a calling for it. Have a chat with one next time you meet them - ask what their aspirations are/have been - you'll be surprised. "

OP, I am quoting you in order to make you read my post, expecting me to refute your point and thus engaging in critical discourse which will then form the foundation of a lengthy debate on the issue you wished to discuss.

Only I haven't.

Smile
Whatmeworry · 08/02/2012 15:29

Tethers - but you haven't also not referenced a website which agreed wholeheartedly with you.

9/10 :o

AuntingCarse · 08/02/2012 15:30

I'm a SAHM and today I have done fuck all. Don't have a husband either. Nor do I give a flying fuck what anyone else does or thinks.

Actually, I have done something today. Watch shit television, because that's all I can be arsed to do today.

tethersend · 08/02/2012 15:33

Good point, Whatme.

I also need someone to not disagree with the findings- any takers?

Hullygully · 08/02/2012 15:34

I agree with the findings

but not the leavings

tethersend · 08/02/2012 15:41

I agree with bran.

Hullygully · 08/02/2012 15:47

Good point

Pagwaatch · 08/02/2012 15:47

9/10 people I thought about while I read what you posted would not have cared.

And I agree with Bran

Hullygully · 08/02/2012 15:49

I knew it was a mistake getting dressed

Jins · 08/02/2012 15:51

I said that earlier.

Glad someone agrees with me :)

Hullygully · 08/02/2012 15:51

Good point

mrsjay · 08/02/2012 16:03

are working mums having a hard time at work this week because we seem to be getting a beating from every angle , yes we al love gloating being smuig and generally making working mothers feel guilty useless parents yep thats why we do it al . Is that what the Op wants to read

TheCrackFox · 08/02/2012 16:14

Is it me or is every single SAHM v WAHM thread completely fucking dull?

I really couldn't give a toss if people work or not. Do what youu need to do or makes you and/your family happy and shut up about it.

Hullygully · 08/02/2012 16:15

thus engaging in critical discourse

tethersend · 08/02/2012 16:28

I've not been on here for a while- have you gone Dutch with the double aa, Pag? Or is this a hilarious in joke I've yet again been excluded from?

Don't answer that.

Hullygully · 08/02/2012 16:29

I said that earlier.

Hullygully · 08/02/2012 16:29

I think it's the Dickens thing, Tethers. How's the lil bub cooking?

tethersend · 08/02/2012 16:33

Brilliant, thanks Hully- am in the nice bit where I don't want to puke all the time and can walk fast. It will last about another week I reckon before my pelvis dissolves.

It's a(nother) girl, BTW Smile

How are you?

Hullygully · 08/02/2012 16:35

Oooo very exciting! Have you a thread in baby names yet so we can all take the piss?

I'm fine fine
