Hi

Breach of trust, end of!

KittyFane · 05/02/2012 20:31

Agree with others about lack of respect.
Watching porn (on your own) in same room as others, having sex in front of others. No and no.

verytellytubby · 05/02/2012 20:38

Weird. Why would you want to watch porn in the same room as your 3 year old? Ditto have sex.

coffecoffe · 05/02/2012 20:47

squeaky no it was perfect girls which pisses me off more. I watched about 2 minutes before saying wtf. when he just said get a grip.

Also agree with TSC

squeakytoy · 05/02/2012 20:49

fair enough.. in which case, he is a twat.

i would be telling him he can take his laptop to the car and sleep in there with it for the night... wifi should reach that far shouldnt it?

Scrumpy132 · 05/02/2012 20:49

This is pretty serious, I am a school nurse and this would be a safeguarding referral if I was aware of it, the same would go for any professionals you or your child disclosed any of this to ie health visitor, nursery.

squeakytoy · 05/02/2012 20:51

Now that IS the time to get a grip.. he wasnt showing porn to the child.. the child did not see it.

How many parents keep 18 cert dvds in the same room as their children?

coffecoffe · 05/02/2012 20:56

No my child didnt but surely do it in private. what if my child ran up too daddy and saw a women with a dildo in her arse? because thats what i saw!!!

OP posts:
Gapants · 05/02/2012 20:56

Deal breaker, end of relationship.

ChaoticAngel · 05/02/2012 21:02

The child could have seen it if he'd carried on watching it. Three year olds, excepting some disabilities, can walk. Who's to say the child wouldn't have seen it at some point.

OffMeTrolley · 05/02/2012 21:06

i know people who watch horror films like Saw and whatnot, in front of their kids (then wonder why same kids have issues) - thats equally as bad in my eyes

squeakytoy · 05/02/2012 21:07

suppose that depends on the size of the lounge, and whereabout he was sat watching it..

I still think watching porn while other people, any other people, are in the room is really really rank though.. and if OP could see it from where she was sat.. then he would know she would see it, so is not even bothered about doing it sneakily... yukkkkkky

LaurieFairyCake · 05/02/2012 21:10

It's child abuse.

Leave.

Scrumpy132 · 05/02/2012 21:10

An 18 DVD is not the same as putting a child at a high risk of being exposed to pornography - that is classed as sexual abuse and any professional would not hesitate to refer. Whether social services would take it any further would depend on lots of things.

It also shows a huge lack of respect for coffecoffe, which doesn't break the law, but is far beyond being a "twat".

coffecoffe · 05/02/2012 21:13

My son could have seen it if he wasnt otherwise inclined. he was about 3 feet from him.

OP posts:
joomtape · 05/02/2012 21:13

the child didn't see it yet it is child abuse?

Eglu · 05/02/2012 21:19

Apart from the fact that your son could have seen it if he had moved. What kind of person decides to watch porn while around their child? That is just beyond my belief. He is a prick of the highest order.

Eglu · 05/02/2012 21:20

I also find it worrying that he thinks you have overreacted.

Scrumpy132 · 05/02/2012 21:21

The child didn't see it but he was at a very high risk of seeing it, who is to say that if it happened once the father will continue to watch porn in a room with the child, increasing the risk. When do you suggest it stops being "idiotic" and becomes abusive? When the father has to leave the room suddenly for any reason a d forgets to turn it off? When the father starts masturbating in the same room as the child? When the father is so absorbed in his viewing he doesn't notice the child is watching over his shoulder? If that's what he does when mum is present, what does he get up to when it is just him and child?

larks35 · 05/02/2012 21:21

coffecoffe - have you packed his bags for him yet? Or shown him some of this thread? I really don't think what he did is child abuse (and think that people over-reacting and banging on about that negates what he has done) but his disregard of your DS and disrespect toward you is appalling.

FlightRisk · 05/02/2012 21:25

WTAF????

He needed to watch porn in an emergency that he couldn't wait till at least DC was in bed??? I'd smack him round the head with the f*ing laptop.

Idiot is mild.

Is he sleeping on the sofa till he realises what he's done is wrong? He would be in my house!!

preciousmuch · 05/02/2012 21:25

what a fucking LOSER. Sorry coffe you must feel really let down....
As for The Other Thread: what a bunch of fucking brown nosers. I'm sure if a first time poster wrote that they were shagging on the sofa whilst their toddler played in the same room there'd be uproar and shouts of 'troll'. just because you've shagged in front of other adults doesn't automatically mean ' it's ok cos we won't see each other for weeks therefore we shagged under a blanket on the sofa'.
Both threads show a disregard for children and a complete lack of respect, the perpetrators on the 2 threads might come from very different backgrounds and viewpoints but the outcome's the same: a non-nurturing, non-edifying environment in which to drag up your vulnerable, precious kids.
