Have you told him that the entire population of MN think his purchase is rather rank?

Francagoestohollywood · 03/02/2012 22:54

Weird website though, it looks fake! Most of the bags look shite, when in the shop window they are usually quite nice...

DamselInDisarray · 03/02/2012 22:55

Surely he'll have to put it inside a satchel of some sort anyway, as it doesn't seem to have any kind of strap. Unless he intends to walk around clutching his blue sparkly handbag document wallet all day.

BuntyPenfold · 03/02/2012 22:55

thats quite nice, white tee with a bulldog on it, nothing too terrible, although he will probably team it with his carrot tops.

That is terrible too.

imgoingtokilldh · 03/02/2012 22:56

lol just noticed on the prada site they call the rhinestones, steel hardware!!

I am so much more relaxed about DHs Cruyff trainers now, I thought they were hideous till I saw this guys taste!

I'm sure he is a lovely man btw.

PippiL · 03/02/2012 22:58

Hang on, did I miss something about carrots? What's that all about?

DamselInDisarray · 03/02/2012 23:01

Jeans designed to make your arse look enormous. Tight ankles, baggy arse. Nice look.

hellymelly · 03/02/2012 23:01

I did laugh out loud when I saw it, but mainly because I was expecting day-glo orange with a green trim for some reason. But then I sort of warmed to it, and its big fat jewels, and your DH,with his paisley jacket and his pointy shoes. He sounds great fun. He is a superflyguy! I would enjoy having a DH who likes to go shopping and go and buy him this for Valntine's day....

PippiL · 03/02/2012 23:02

Rhonda, just looked up the trainers... Some of them don't entirely ming.

TuftyFinch · 03/02/2012 23:02

If I saw your DH walking down the street in that jacket and that bag, I would smile. I think people bow to the pressure of what they think they should wear rather than what they want to wear. I wear some odd clothes and sometimes people say 'oh!' and 'ha, ha...oh'. But I really don't mind. My mum always let us, as DC, wear what we wanted and if that was a frilly victorian pinny, wellies and wooly hat she would hold our hand with her head held high and give potential smirkers the eye.

Disclaimer: I have had wine and I am not taking this thread seriously, honest.

Second disclaimer; if DP came home and told me he'd spent £1100 on a bag he wouldn't be pleased with my reaction. Our 2 cars together cost less than that bag.

But... if he likes it and you can afford it....you couldn't get a cheese sandwich in though could you? Grin

countessbabycham · 03/02/2012 23:03

I came home yesterday in my boots/parka/cream legwarmer ensemble to a DH (with tears of laughter pouring down his face) - "Fuck me,you look like a Norwegian stormtrooper..."Grin.
He loves me just as I am.I'd be really sad if he tried to change my somewhat eccentric tastes.

Please just hide the bank card!

PippiL · 03/02/2012 23:04

Helly, ew, junk in the trunk!

DonkeyTeapot · 03/02/2012 23:05

Did we get to the bottom of what colour manbag document holder he bought? I don't know what difference it makes, I just feel it's important that we know. The tan one is just girly, rather than revolting and girly like the others.

And the jacket is lovely, exactly right to wear with a silk cravat at one's gentlemen's club.

LaurieFairyCake · 03/02/2012 23:05

Well done though.

I have now heard EVERYTHING on mumsnet.

hellymelly · 03/02/2012 23:06

And I'm not being sarky,he sounds as though he just wants a bit of colour and fun in his life. Far better than grey polyester mix suits.

DonkeyTeapot · 03/02/2012 23:07

Also, £1,100? On a bag? Is it full of gold? Because that's the only excuse for spending that much on a bag.

LiliPinkiePie · 03/02/2012 23:10

I was all set to defend him, especially as I spent a similar amount on a men's handbag document bag from Prada which I LOVE, and a stylish man could easily carry.
But that, well, that is really gay.

CarrieInAnotherTWOBabiTWINS · 03/02/2012 23:10

lol its just me carrie, larking about, i saw that bag and thought god ive got to show everyone on mumsnet that!
thought i'd give you a giggle Smile

QuintessentialyHollow · 03/02/2012 23:11

not sure your dh knows what a norwegian storm trooper looks like, but <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=norwegian+female+soldier&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&rlz=1G1SVEF_ENUK452&biw=1599&bih=795&tbm=isch&tbnid=SHuhiIbw3hGwEM:&imgrefurl=www.flickriver.com/photos/damopabe/tags/norway/&docid=6j00MZChIrNtHM&imgurl=farm4.static.flickr.com/3102/3143372185_931814ceb6.jpg&w=500&h=383&ei=dmksT9eBHse70QX1ttytCA&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=355&sig=100917297802735748290&page=2&tbnh=134&tbnw=171&start=32&ndsp=40&ved=1t:429,r:7,s:32&tx=89&ty=55" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here is the original thing
