AIBU?

AIBU to be gripped in the throes of a teenage style crush on Eddie Redmayne?

He is not even my type! I am worried about myself. I am old enough to be his.. well old enough! But there is just 'something' about him & I am having filthy thoughts about him. I blame bloody birdsong coz I didn't even like him in pillars of the earth.

So, am I alone?

Oh that's no good LadyC! No lunch break? Haven't you told your boss that all this work is eating into your Cumberbatch appreciation time?

I have just found a website called Eddie Redmayne Online and there are literally hundreds of pictures, frame by frame shots of birdsong + others. I fear for the care and wellbeing of my family until I have oogled looked at each and every photo

I am going away for the night tomorrow and I am trusting the upkeep and maintenance of this important thread to you LadyC. May the force be with you!

Oi! Limited! Come back and answer all our questions! Play nicely..!

Cripes, I feel very responsible now!

And no, I haven't raised the issue with my boss, but it may only be a matter of time. Grin

Just checking in before bed. Won't be back on till Sunday night. I am slighty worried that I will drink far too much wine tomorrow night on the night away and confess my embarrassing crush to friends who would take great delight in reminding me of it at every oppprtunity

I may be slinking back here in shame on sunday evening Grin

Have a good weekend, hope you get some pc/you time ladyC ;-)

Just caught up with the first episode of Birdsong. He does have a, er, certain something about him, doesn't he?

My husband is a posh slim gingerish freckly type who looks like he fell out of the 1930s, so I figure it is not really a bad thing that I can see the attraction of ER.

I knew he went to Eton but didn't realise he was there with Prince William. Sorry for random DM goss here Think he stands out in the photo with the cheeky bow.

Hi redmayne, hope you didn't reveal your crush to your mates: in vino unfortunately veritas sometimes though, innit?

I have still not watched the clips; decided I needed a screen-free weekend apart from telly of course; I'd die without that and housemate is unexpectedly working from home today, so I don't want to play anything with audio just in case Grin

Had a flick through Heat and saw a few BC/Sherlock pics. They love Sherlock! They were plugging not just the show but also the soundtrack album.

Hello there, I am afraid I DID bloody reveal it Blush. Damn it anyway...I was smugly congratuating myself on not breathing a word of it all evening, in fact there was sort of no opportunity as busy chatting about other stuff until one friend mentioned she had a big thing for some actor in downton abbey (haven't watched it yet so can't remember who she was talking about)...but of course that turned conversation to period drama and they were all saying 'oooh can't believe you haven't seen it, you'd love with the costumes etc. Then someone HAD to say 'but did you watch birdsong?'...and then it happened. I blabbed. Badly. And drunkenly. S.A.D. It was a bit funny though Grin. None of them agreed with my opinion on just how very bloody handsome he is, philistines! Ooooh.....but one of them admitted to having a 'thing' for Cumberbatch (which made me giggle even more insanely because there was no way I was explaining why that was funny to me due to this thread etc etc.

Yeah, I understand screen-free weekend, as that's pretty much what I had too. Couldn't resist clicking onto redmayne online website earlier today and of course the fecking thing froze and I couldn't shut it down and then dh neded to print something and he did look at me a bit funny when he saw the page of photos open!! Must be more -sneaky-- careful Grin

eurochick....your dh sounds lovely!

Icapturethecastle (great book & name btw), thanks for that link! He was cute even then!!

Back to monday again, yawn. LadyC, hope you get to look at the youtube clip soon it is very good!

sozzledchops.....I know, I know....just can't seem to help it, and even that dodgy pic you posted hasn't deterred me at all Grin

better pic?

But on the plus side, Michael Fassbender is ALL yours! (He has an odd face/mouth too, does he not?)

Ok, ok I did pick one of the worst pics I could find, I did like him in the Pillars of the Earth.

There to make amends I've picked a dodgy one of the Handsome Shark

redmayneslips · 06/02/2012 18:08

That certainly qualifies as a dodgy one of Fassbender alright, crikey Grin. As I said he's all yours!

I now need to rewatch pillars of the earth as I had not been alerted to Redmaynes beauty then or gripped by lust for him. Think is must have been the red hair in it threw me off!

Anyway, that pic definitely makes amends ;-) There is no accounting for taste is there??!

I like him too Blush What is he, 20?

I loved him in Tess of the D'ubervilles and Pillars of the Earth. Liked Birdsong (esp 2nd eposode) but it was a bit ponderous at times.

He was at Eton at the same time as Prince William so that would make him 29?

redmayneslips · 06/02/2012 18:14

He's 30 becaroo. I had thought he was about 20 too, and was feeling well strange about fancying him. But 30 is perfectly respectable Grin

Glad to meet a fellow appreciator! Must try to see if I can get a copy of Tess..haven't seen that either.

Do you think poor dh will notice the common link if I make us watch Pillars of the earth (again).Bordsong (again) and then Tess....?? i reckon i can get away with it

ooohhh its v good redmayneslips Gemma arterton was fab in it too and Hans matheson (who I am also a bit partial too)

I loved the POTE series (more than the books tbh)...always had a bit of a thing for Rufus sewell too

Report
redmayneslips · 06/02/2012 19:35

Off to google Hans Matheson now. Though to be honest I have no time in my days to start fancying anyone else now Grin plus I am loyal to Eddie

Def have to get a copy of Tess so! Was it a tv series or movie?

You see I LOVED the pillars of the earth books, then happened upon the tv series someway though it (didn't see it from the start) had dh huffing and puffing about it being boring as he hadn't seen it from the beginning and I just missed getting into it. I really need to give it another chance will be GLUED to it next time due to my infatuation Hope they repeat it at some stage. But hoping for a repeat of Birdsong first though Grin

redmayneslips - ha, same here. Husband hasn't clicked yet that every second movie we are watching has Fassbender in it. Lucky he never looks the same in a movie so I can get away with it!

hehe sozzledchops glad to hear I am not the only one that devious Grin

Lucky for me DH was away when birdsong was on so he hasn't seen it, so I can def get away with watching that again!

Definately get Tess on dvd..it was great...the bit where Tess and Angel are on the run and finally alone together!!...sigh...

I liked POTE...thought it was fab TV, definately worth watching again.

Eddie R is a fantastic actor IMO, completely believable in everything I have seen him in...helps that he is eye candy too Smile

Hello fellow pervs fans Smile
Hope everyone is keeping well tonight?

LadyC, I trust you haven't been working too hard and have managed to pack in some Cumberbatch time since? Have you wathched the cute youtube link repeatedly yet?

becaroooo I am not sure I can actually get a copy of Tess, where would I find one? BBCiplayer is a bit crap in that it only stores things for 7 days and I am not in UK so video stores etc less likely to stock it, sob. And I really wanted to watch it Thursday night as a birthday treat (not going out till friday). Not sure how I am going to get it now. Damn!

And, of course, My Week with Marilyn has left the cinemas everywhere in my area. Might have a last ditch attempt at seeing it when visiting parents in a different area next week. But have to say I am feeling snookered in my Redmayne appeciation attempts

Hi redmayne. I did finally watch it; thank you! Some very cute footage most of which I'd actually already ferreted out though Blush Grin

Re: Tess, how about Amazon? They do next-day delivery on some things. Or is it on YouTube? Lots of things turn up on there, admittedly often in poor quality and chopped up into multiple short sections.

Have you seen Savage Grace? A very different character, highly unlikeable but at the same time he makes you feel for him. It's a terrific performance. Julianne Moore is also fantastic.
