He is not even my type! I am worried about myself. I am old enough to be his.. well old enough! But there is just 'something' about him & I am having filthy thoughts about him. I blame bloody birdsong coz I didn't even like him in pillars of the earth.

So, am I alone?

YABU. The man is a bit pretty but seems only to be able to stare in to middle distance with the all emotional intensity of a plank. Still, if it works for you.

Yes, yes, I totally agree with you..his lips are odd and his acting is, ahem, wooden...but I just can't help it. It is like one of those 'what's your embarassing crush' questions for me. Only I have announced to the whole mumsnet world. Oh well...if I am alone...then he can be all miiiiiiiineeeee

I desperately wanted to develop a crush on him to try to get over my frankly ridiculous one on Cumberbatch, but it hasn't worked. He was planklike in Birdsong ? v disappointing because I thought his performance in The Pillars of the Earth was terrific.

Well, possibly, depending on your age. I think 'inappropriate' crushes are on a person much younger than you, much older than you, someone who is generally acknowledged not to be a 'heart-throb', or someone just plain wrong (e.g. fancying David Cameron if you're a staunch Labourite).

But they are all different threads!
