He is not even my type! I am worried about myself. I am old enough to be his.. well old enough! But there is just 'something' about him & I am having filthy thoughts about him. I blame bloody birdsong coz I didn't even like him in pillars of the earth.

So, am I alone?

(obviously I would, with him, I can see the appeal - does that help?)

CaptainWentworth · 02/02/2012 17:18

I have to admit I have also developed a bit of a Redmayne crush. Liked him in pillars of the earth but only realised his full gorgeousness in uniform (even though I think he wasn't quite right to play Stephen Wraysford). I have always had a bit of a thing for that slim gingerish freckly look - in fact I think my husband looks a bit like (a bald) Eddie if you squint a bit (he is only 28, he went bald at 19, the poor lamb)

Oops - I blame the iPhone Blush

limitedperiodonly · 02/02/2012 17:36

redmayne when you said ER I at first thought it meant the programme which reminded me that George Clooney does nothing for me either.

I've met him. He has roomy trousers.

I've also met Tom who was a bit scratchy, twitchy and distracted but that was because he was a junkie at the time.

He is also scratchy, twitchy, distracted and nose-wipey in that clip where he's droning on about his craft and Beneditch CumberBatch in a rather bleak pub garden but I guess that's just a hangover from former days. Probably.

Anyway, I like to look and how can you not agree that the wink is so great?

limitedperiodonly · 02/02/2012 17:38

How do you feel about Steve Davis CaptWentworth?

Just trying to get my bearings.

BupcakesandCunting · 02/02/2012 17:49

YANBU

The way that he clutched his cigarette between his blubbery luscious lips in Birdsong was worthy of a quick fap.

limitedperiodonly · 02/02/2012 18:04

'Don't know if he's in Inception, but Tom Hardy is.'

That's the thing LadyClarice. I started off indifferent to Tom because I knew him as a bald, evil clone from a Star Trek film that I didn't want to watch.

And then I began noticing him in LayerCake and Martina Cole's Crappy Stories About Unconvincing Dodgy Geezers From The East End on Sky1.

Before I knew it I was experimenting with things where he played a policeman before being brutally snuffed out in a cheap TV series about Jack The Ripper or Sweeney Todd.

Like all addictions it seems like something you can handle until one day you realise you're helpless in its grip.

I'm just warning you.

limitedperiodonly · 02/02/2012 18:06

quick fap, Bupcakes?

I'm not going to like this, am I?

redmayneslips · 02/02/2012 18:18

Oh Limited. You are like a tonic. Sort of. That was funny.

Your Tom Hardy addiction story has me feeling a bit fearful for my future. I sort of hoped my admitting to my own addiction on here it might sort of burn itself out. But nope, seems to be getting worse as I meet fellow addicts. I don't know where it will all end. With me camping outside eddie redmaybes house in a deranged manner. Probably not.

Bupcakes, please do NOT tell us what a quick fap is. I am sure I don't want that image etched into my brain and sullying my lovely, soppy, romantic fantasies (but secretly despite being rampantly anti-smoking in reality, there is something very very sexy about SOME men smoking. I had an ex-bf and it just looked good. Can't explain it at all as I hate smoking!)

Captain Wentworth, I get what you mean, it took the period costumes and the uniform for me to see his true potential too. I wish they would repeat it. Soon.

Limited - Steve Davis has NO PLACE on this thread! It's bad enough that you dragged bloody twitchy Tom Hardy onto it....!

My dh looks like Tom Hardy Grin I don't really fancy Eddie (well I try NOT to)because he looks very similar to my ds and dh and I both said that in 10 years time he'll be the spit of him!

redmayneslips · 02/02/2012 19:19

Wow valiumredhead, does your ds really look like him? You will make your fortune with him so! And will be beating girls away with sticks when he is older!

OP posts:
LadyClariceCannockMonty · 02/02/2012 20:16

limited, is 'roomy trousers' a euphemism?

I'd pass on a fap, quick or otherwise, with Tom or Eddie. Benedict, however ... happy to fapp all day and all night long.

redmayneslips · 02/02/2012 22:21

LadyC, have you been watching your youtube link this evening? Must have been a pain in the ass not to have been able to watch it in work...

I think I'll pass on adopting the term 'fap'......

OP posts:
limitedperiodonly · 02/02/2012 22:34

valium Mmm for your DH

redmayne Eddie is too feeble to beat anyone off, much less with a stick.

Lady Clooney wore middle-aged American men's trousers with pleated fronts - Brooks Brothers is the most famous brand. Just kind of roomy at the front which makes me think they're designed so the wearer can put his hands in his pockets and have a speculative rummage without thinking they're attracting too much attention.

redmayneslips · 02/02/2012 22:41

Those big pleaty fronted mens trousers are very unattractive, though George doesn't do it for me anyway. Isn't he gay though? I think he must be.

Listen, Eddie is not feeble, he's elegant and dashing, unlike swarthy Tom of the many twitches and tics..

OP posts:
valiumredhead · 03/02/2012 08:54

I too favour the sandy freckly look mmmmmmmm. Charles Dance in his day was gorgeous! Actually he still is Grin

LOL@'spectacular rummage' Grin

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 03/02/2012 10:28

redmayne, sadly no, I didn't get a chance for any ... private time Smile last night and am stuck at work again now. It'll be a weekend treat.

I note that I spelt 'fapp' with two ps, in a slightly Scandinavian stylee. Somehow it sounds even dirtier that way Grin.

limited, I misread your post and thought you'd met Eddie and HE had 'roomy trousers'. Seemed unlikely. I think George C is a classic roomy-trousers kind of guy. And yes, surely he's gay. I've read that it's an open secret in Hollywood. Doesn't he have a 'companion' called Waldo or something?

'swarthy Tom'. Grin

redmayneslips · 03/02/2012 12:57

Morning LadyC! That's a pity that you have to save the link till the weekend, but at least today is friday Smile. I noticed Benedict's unmistakable face brooding from a magazine cover earlier, he's on the cover of something called BBC Focus....perhaps you can gaze meaningfully at it over lunch whilst pretending to be reading some very serious deep and intellectual article?

He seems to be everywhere today, there's also a pic of him in Heat magazine, but alas no sign of the lovely eddie...

From what I have seen in publicity shots eddie favours very tight and narrow trousers, nothing 'roomy' about them at all.....

Hope your afternoon flies by for you.

OP posts:
LadyClariceCannockMonty · 03/02/2012 13:10

Thanks for the tip! I'll go and unashamedly read BBC Focus (whatever the feck that is) and Heat in WH Smith later.

Yes, I was rudely interrupted while doing my last post but meant to say that I thought Eddie looked like a skinny-trousers type, male-model style. Much sexier!

limitedperiodonly · 03/02/2012 15:07

I have no experience of Eddie's trousers because we spoke on the phone.

If forced to wonder, I'd imagine he's an indie, skinny-trousered kind of boy too. The kind who hangs out in Hoxton and Clerkenwell.

I guess George just hasn't found the right girl yet.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 03/02/2012 15:14

'ang on, so, even though you haven't MET Eddie, you HAVE had contact? I'm intrigued (and I don't even have the hots for Eddie). What was he like?

redmayneslips · 03/02/2012 15:17

Limited, why on earth have you NOT mentioned this till now???

C'mon.....spill! How? Why? When? What was he like?

OP posts:
redmayneslips · 03/02/2012 15:18

Ps. LadyC, did you spend your lunchtime oogling weird BBC men magazines? Grin

OP posts:
LadyClariceCannockMonty · 03/02/2012 15:30

No! Didn't have time for a lunch break, like all week .

It'll be a waiting-for-the-train treat tonight. Will report back.
