40p is cheap , where from?

cyb · 28/01/2012 09:59

lol

Nixea · 28/01/2012 10:01

I want to know where your husband shops!! We pay75p here

TheRhubarb · 28/01/2012 10:01

Little shop down the road.
He's saying that I don't feed him enough isn't he? That my food is not good enough for him.
The bloody cheek!

I could have spent that 40p on some stale bread to feed the children.

75p Shock for a Mars Bar!!!

discobeaver · 28/01/2012 10:03

Will the madness never end? The crazy chocolate buying fool.
Is he stressed about work do you think? Check your credit card statements for evidence of other extravagant purchases.

Rindercella · 28/01/2012 10:03

Oh my God, are Mars Bars really 75p now?! Shock

Nixea · 28/01/2012 10:04

Just think of the things that 40p might have been earmarked for though. That's two Daily Mails that is!

TheRhubarb · 28/01/2012 10:04

I think he's having an affair and he's trying to woo her with Mars Bars.

I should leave him shouldn't I?
What would you do?

I'm going through the bank statements now.

OP posts:
Rindercella · 28/01/2012 10:05

Was that from his own account or was it from your joint account? Whichever, yadnbu. He is obviously a fucking bastard and of course you should leave him.

Nixea · 28/01/2012 10:05

Yeah, sadly in both our local shop and local co-op they're 75p for the normal sized versions :( It's not a good time for a chocoholic.

sunshineandbooks · 28/01/2012 10:05

When was the last time you bought a mars bar? They are way more than 40p. I bet he's spent it on a packet of fizzy sweets meant for children that's he's too embarrassed to admit he likes because no grown man with any self-respect should do this. This means not only is he spending money without consulting you, but he is also lying to you about it. I say leave the bastard.

Wink
SilentBoob · 28/01/2012 10:05

75p???

Shock
Rindercella · 28/01/2012 10:06

A Mars Bar is 75p and the Daily Mail is 20p? Ok...that makes sense actually. In fact, it makes the Mars Bar sound a bit of a relative bargain Smile

squeaver · 28/01/2012 10:06

This sounds like classic narc behaviour to me. Clothes in a bin bag, on the doorstep, now.

ggirl · 28/01/2012 10:06

leave him
you deserve beter than him

StealthPolarBear · 28/01/2012 10:06

BARGAIN
unless it was a mini one?

goingtoofast · 28/01/2012 10:07

He's lying they are 49p in Tesco, no way a little shop could sel them for less.

What did he really spend that 40p on......

northwestnutrition · 28/01/2012 10:07

At least he could have bought a twin pack bounty. Why should he have the chocolate because he is the man.
I suppose it could have been worse.
He could have bought a yorkie - sexist bastard

TheRhubarb · 28/01/2012 10:09

So he's lying to me?
Hmmmm

Well I know the crisps (those big ones with crinkles) are 60p so it can't be them.
How much is The Sun?

Oh I can't believe he could do this to me! Please hold my hand whilst I get through this trauma!

OP posts:
discobeaver · 28/01/2012 10:09

Maybe the 40p was just a down payment? Who knows what your monthly repayments will be OP! Perhaps there is a cooling off period? Ring Citizen's Advice.

Truckulentagain · 28/01/2012 10:09

You all must live in Surrey.

You can get four for a £1 in my local shop.

Did he write it on the fridge calendar that he was going to buy it?
Could be a get out clause.

Wormshuffler · 28/01/2012 10:11

Here is a subject I know about! The rrp is 49p which gives the retailer around 18% profit on return depending on where they get them from. . 40p is cheaper than I have seen ever and I'm a sales rep for mars (on ml) Did the mars bar have a bar code on it? If not it could have been split from a multipack. There are some 4 for £1 packs around at the moment.

TheRhubarb · 28/01/2012 10:11

Do you think he might be going through a mid-life crisis?

I've just been through the bank statements, he spent £1.20 in Tesco the other day. We never shop at Tescos, the most we can afford is Lidl.
He's cheating isn't he?

Whatever next? A brand new car ffs?

OP posts:
cyb · 28/01/2012 10:12

You might just get a bag of Tangfastics Haribo and some sweet cigarettes for 40p here

But at least they can be shared out

Selfish bastard
