Wispa...yum
Double decker 2012 yuck
Double decker 1985 yummy FACT.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/01/2012 11:21

Rhubarb you've got a dead badger to eat and you begrudge the poor man a Mars Bar.

norriscoleforpm · 28/01/2012 11:23

Does he have his own 'pot' of 40p's though? I'd suggest you make him put a '40p' back and then you can get er something for you that's 40p. No shame in having seperate pots of 40ps.

TheVermiciousKnid · 28/01/2012 11:26

Exactly, 70isa. The OP has a whole badger to herself and only feeds her husband one (one!) peanut. And then she begrudges him a measly Mars bar. Shocking. No wonder Britain is broken.

Mrsgradgrind · 28/01/2012 11:29

Is he going to bring it home, cut it into small pieces, and share it equally between the family? My dad used to do that as our Saturday morning treat, as did my dh's. If so yabu for complaining about it, if not yanbu and I think he needs counselling for his out of control spending.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/01/2012 11:34

Well no, be fair TheVermiciousKnid -the OP said a dead badger not a whole badger.

I'm presuming it's roadkill, and after a few cars have been over it and she's shovelled it up with her Lakeland Limited Folding Snow Shovell, I'll wager she's left with about 72% of the original animal.

TheVermiciousKnid · 28/01/2012 11:44

Oh come on, a run over and shovelled up dead badger would be at least 74.39% of a whole badger! Unless it's been run over by a BMW, in which case it might conceivably be as little as 73.48%. Still much bigger than a Mars bar though! I feel sorry for the OP's poor husband. :(

Archemedes · 28/01/2012 11:45

Thats cheap! where do you shop OP.

redroof · 28/01/2012 12:04

Thats's shocking Rhu!
My husband just rung me to say he spent a penny.
He began to mention being desperate, then I threw the phone across the room in rage.

EssentialFattyAcid · 28/01/2012 12:06

If he eats one a day he will spend an estimated £10,950 in his lifetime

lisaro · 28/01/2012 12:09

He is the man of the house and thus entitled to do whatever he wants with HIS money. And stale bread for the children? FFS woman! Stop spoiling them!

Anniegetyourgun · 28/01/2012 12:14

I was going to ask how much the telephone call cost. But then the thread moved on a wee bit.

I hope it wasn't tax credits THAT I PAY FOR funding that chocolate.

DuffyMoon · 28/01/2012 13:32

someone I know has children purely to get tax credits to pay for mars bars

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/01/2012 15:51

Roadkill mammals doesn't help you "Work,Rest and Play" like a Mars Bar does.

Though I've only tried dead foxes (and not the Glacier Mints variety) so dead badgers might be different.

mumnotmachine · 28/01/2012 15:55

Tell him to go to Asda, he can get 5 for a quid at the moment!!

nickelhasababy · 28/01/2012 15:56

did he get it from a cheapy shop?
In the 99p shop, they're 3 for 99p.

I really want a mars bar now.

Did he save any of it for you?

GoingForGoalWeight · 28/01/2012 16:01

Mars bars are always 4 for £1 in the Co-Op! My super skinny slim DS loves them. Leave him the waster!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/01/2012 16:13

my blardy DS 12 yo ( and flipping stick insect) ate 6 yes 6 Cadbury Caramel Eggs (3 for £1 in Tesco).
I didn't even get to lick the foil Sad
Can't even leave the b'stard either

mrsmaltesers · 28/01/2012 16:34

Wherever he bought it from is where i am honey-mooning, should i be in a honeymoon position ever again.

Your dh is a superhero for 2012.

redrubyshoes · 28/01/2012 16:46

Rhubarb

It is NOT just 40p and a Mars Bar. Before you know it he will have a mouthful of rotten teeth and furred up arteries and will weigh eleventy million stone.

Your marrriage will be on the rocks because you will not to kiss or have sex with a man with a mouth like a vandalised graveyard heading towards a heart attack and a stomach like Big Daddy's flumping around on top of you.

He will also cost the taxpayers (me) a billion pounds in healthcare and paying benefits to a single mum (you) to buy big tellies and fake tan with.

The country is going to hell in a handcart.

Grin

HTH.

marmiteandjam · 28/01/2012 16:51

In our local Co-op they are 4 for £1 at the moment. He missed a trick there.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/01/2012 16:51

maltesers -you chose your honeymoon destination bases on where you can buy cheap chocolate?

What about Costco then? Catering packs abound and some nice Carole Hochman 'leeeeeeeeshure' suits for when you can't fit back in your wedding dress Grin

LineRunner · 28/01/2012 16:52

You can get a massive 400g slab of Cadbury's milk chocolate in my Asda at the moment for two of your earth pounds.

I only went up for cat food.

blackeyedsusan · 28/01/2012 16:56

... and he has wasted more than 40p on a phone call.. Shock

poppercondria · 28/01/2012 17:00

That is unacceptable. Unless he bought it for you.
