Someone even posted a photo on facebook last week of their ironing pile - mountains of fecking toddler jeans. Why??

Fold things straight out of the dryer/off the line and don't marry someone who wears shirts. Easy.

I rather enjoy ironing, especially in front of the tv. DH is forced to watch what I want then

I am an ironing moaner :o I detest it, but I couldn't even consider not doing it because no matter what I try my clothes all dry in such a way they could never do without it, honestly their awful! How do people who don't iron deal with shirts and skirts and jeans etc, someone let me in in the secret so I can stop moaning!

Iron less, or pay someone to do it for you, or get some different clothes (or sort out your drying routine), or just bloody get on with it.

When I worked in an office, if I was wearing a shirt/blouse I would just iron the collar with my hair straighteners then wear a jumper over the top

What DH wears to work is entirely his business, not mine to worry about.

I have tried every setting on my drier and not one of them release the clothes wrinkle free, the line is never used in winter, and if I dry on a clothes horse they still defo need ironed! Pleated skirts/ work shirts/ work trousers etc, they all need ironed surely? Am I buying the wrong types of clothes? Also I have only known two people to admit they dont iron, and both times i could tell anyway, maybe there are loads out there who don't iron and I've never noticed tho

DH irons his own shirts, ds's shirts are dried on a hanger, and as he wears a jumper to school, don't need ironing. I buy work clothes that don't need ironing if dried on a hanger

Ironing is a crime - massive waste of energy in a time when global warming is such a worry.

Ironing - what's that?

I do own an iron, but I warned DH before I married him that I was never going to use it (except for pressing seams when sewing). If he needs shirts, he can iron them himself!

A few weeks ago, I took DS (aged 3.1) to a 'taster' session at pre-school, and he picked up a toy iron but clearly had no idea what to do with it . The pre-school staff looked a bit concerned until, five minutes later, he redeemed himself by counting to 20 with no adult assistance.

Again, I say... Ironing... what's that?

I don't iron. A lot of it is the clothes you buy.

I've seen so many nice things over the years that I refused to buy because I knew they'd only look nice ironed.

DH buys those wrinkle-free shirts, if you hang them to dry properly they really don't need the iron.

there are loads of ways to get out of ironing but if all you buy is linen pleated skirts, well, you're fucked basically.

Also, men should iron their own work shirts.

I wear jeans and t-shirts or vests with cardis - no ironing there. DH has a non-iron uniform and wears combats and hoodies otherwise. Kids clothes are crumpled anyway.

If you take clothes out of the tumbler immediately and then fold, they really don't need ironed. Using an airer works as long as you hang them carefully.

Nobody ever lay on their death bed and wished they'd ironed more. I don't give a fuck if I'm not crisply presented enough for someone else's taste. I've never found myself so bored that I passed judgement on another person's laundry fastidiousness though.

I don't iron (apart from the occasional work shirt for my DH) and cannot bloody stand ironing martyrs. My SIL is one, so is my DH's ex and I can't tell either of them to shut the fuck up and fuck off as I'd so dearly love to!!

Ok well I have been convinced to experiment and go out iron free tmow! the dd's that is, if they dont look to rough I might be persuaded to try it myself :)

I like ironing if I'm not behind. I iron everything bar towels. The tumble dryer can make the ironing process quicker and easier, but no good for pleats and puffed sleeves etc
