Ularooo! Neighbours memories

mothmagnet · 18/01/2012 13:24

Does anyone remember when Lucy sneaked a bit of Ayers Rock home and then a curse befell Ramsay Street? Every time something new happened, she'd wail 'Ularoooo!'

Or wondering what lamingtons were and saying "you dag" to your friends?

My big crush was Paul, even though he only had a couple of facial expressions.

Annalise was dating Sam and started seeing Stonefish behind his back. She was caught in a sheet iirc.........

perceptionreality · 19/01/2012 18:16

Yeah, Catherine and Sarah looked absolutely nothing alike........although that does happen with siblings.

Sevenfold · 19/01/2012 18:17

I linked a pic of Bronwyn earlier she was sister 1

perceptionreality · 19/01/2012 18:19

Izzy the sociopath........I forgot about her!

silverfrog · 19/01/2012 18:24

Stonefish went out with Cody at some point, didn't he?

and who was the trainee policeman (Luke? - how did he fit in to the street?) whose fault it was that Cody got shot?

scrivette · 19/01/2012 19:16

Sevenfold, was it? I barely watched H&A, that episode obviously stuck with me!

clarabellabunting · 19/01/2012 19:35

I remember Luke! - he was a trainee police officer but at his medical they found out he had cancer. I remember having a bit of a thing for him as he had a lovely face with a sexy mole on his cheek.

I'm not sure how he fitted in but wasn't he one of the randoms living in Number 30? - later the 'house of trouser'.

silverfrog · 19/01/2012 19:50

oh yes, he did have cancer, didn't he?

yes, he was just a random - but they usually come up with some completely unrealistic reaosn for the randoms - you know, a brother's-friend's-auntie's-cousin once met their parents, and mentioned Ramsey street etc etc.

Glenn is another one that jsut popped into my mind - wasn't he Jim's illegitimate son? and din't he end up paralysed (or was that Stephen Gottlieb? or both?)

Glenn went out with Gabby, I think.

Thumbwitch · 19/01/2012 21:54

Couldn't forget about Izzy if I tried - she (Natalie Bassingthwaite) was one of the judges on Australian X Factor last year - she replaced Natalie Imbruglia. And subjected us to a performance of her latest single at some point during the show.

BerryLellow · 19/01/2012 22:14

That family that Susan Kennedy married into, with Zeke and Rachel? I could never work out what was going on with the casting of the older sister Katya.

Don't watch it anymore, but I was a fan from the early days and had the sticker album too. I wanted to be Bronwyn Blush

Lovely Luke was the brother of the woman that got together with Phil Martin, whose name escapes me

BerryLellow · 19/01/2012 22:15

Oh and I saw Brett Stark on a train in Sydney once

Thumbwitch · 19/01/2012 23:07

the Kinski family, Berry? I think the idea was the the children's mother was Tibetan or something like that (goes off to google), and Katya looked most like her.

GreenEyesAndNiceHam · 19/01/2012 23:31

I have just snorted and chuckled and giggled my way through this whole thread

And the only contribution I have is that Mike's (Guy Pearce) favourite dish that Daphne used to make him, was Lemon Chicken Grin

BupcakesandCuntWorms · 19/01/2012 23:39

I fucking LOVE this thread. Truly.

The actor who played Sam Kratz looks upsettingly like Julian Assange now...

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 19/01/2012 23:42

Yes, but did we ever ascertain if i was dreaming when I remembered that bouncer nearly drowned in a pool, and clive the vet rescued him? Although now I think about it, didnt the original dog drown and bouncer was the replacement?

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 19/01/2012 23:43

Green, that cant be true, nobody ever eats anything but casserole in Ramsey ST!

BupcakesandCuntWorms · 19/01/2012 23:46

It was "lemon chicken caserole"

Daphne used to marinade the chicken inside her tights.

Thumbwitch · 19/01/2012 23:48

I was quite keen on Frazer Yeats (aka George Brown) and that whole story line with him and Rosetta Cammeniti kept me watching for a while. It did make me smile that his parents had named their 4 sons after the Beatles...

Juaneeze · 19/01/2012 23:49

I still have my Neighbours board game, we used to enjoy making up extravagant storylines involving Mrs Mangle Grin

My sister and I used to think that <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=marlene+kratz+from+neighbours&hl=en&sa=X&biw=1280&bih=675&tbm=isch&prmd=imvnso&tbnid=Ew97MCUos5L_hM:&imgrefurl=en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Marlene_Kratz.jpg&docid=G6lLtjPIs1zRiM&imgurl=upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/6f/Marlene_Kratz.jpg&w=259&h=262&ei=rKsYT4Jg1P7xA8-F-Z4L&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=544&vpy=126&dur=1609&hovh=209&hovw=207&tx=88&ty=133&sig=108290029143880883754&page=1&tbnh=155&tbnw=153&start=0&ndsp=17&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Marlene (Chezza's mum) looked like an owl...I think I shall have to introduce her to this thread Smile

GreenEyesAndNiceHam · 19/01/2012 23:51

Nu uh, 'Limmin Chick'n' it was, I remember it well?

Probably cos it was fruit. wi' meat

Blew my tiny mind man

BupcakesandCuntWorms · 19/01/2012 23:55

Marlene! Cody and some of the other Ramsay St kids wrote a song about her and sang it to her in the Coffee Shop (what was it called?)

The first line went "MARLEEEEENE! She cooks chickpeas and sauce!"

BupcakesandCuntWorms · 19/01/2012 23:57

The Coffee Shop was apparently called the Coffee Shop, according to Wikipedia...

Heatherhills · 20/01/2012 00:01

Does anyone else remember Clive James cameoing as a postman?

Heatherhills · 20/01/2012 00:03

The brad/Beth/Lauren love triangle - I think he should have picked Lauren.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 20/01/2012 00:04

In that board game, the characters, one was "A lebanese belly dancer" wasnt it? Confused It has stuck in my mind for decades!
