Ularooo! Neighbours memories

Does anyone remember when Lucy sneaked a bit of Ayers Rock home and then a curse befell Ramsay Street? Every time something new happened, she'd wail 'Ularoooo!'

Or wondering what lamingtons were and saying "you dag" to your friends?

My big crush was Paul, even though he only had a couple of facial expressions.

Bloody hell! Just realised that Darren Stark was originally played by Scott Major, who came back to Neighbours as Lucas Fitzgerald years later! How bizarre - does just go to show the shortage of actors in Australia though if they needed to use the same bloke for 2 different characters, however far apart!

lol he was hot back then I wonder what he looks like now.....

BigBadBear · 19/01/2012 12:58

I recognised Scott Majors from Heartbreak High when he started as Lucas in Neighbours. Now that was a show.

Someone downthread mentioned a shopping centre development storyline from years ago. There's another one going on now. I'm convinced Malcolm Kennedy has something to do with it but nobody cares believes me.

Dahl the galah is still in the show. I still call people galahs if they do something silly. I get strange looks generally in my life

A lot of the people I know think I'm a sensible, responsible, capable kind of person. Then someone mentions that I Sky+ Neighbours and everyone falls about laughing. But they fail to grasp the brilliance of the show.

AWimbaWay · 19/01/2012 13:10

Here's Brad now apparently he managed Holly Valance and sued her when she dropped him.

chocoroo · 19/01/2012 13:19

I was on the Neighbours tour the day they were filming Drew's death. V exciting even though we could only watch from about a mile away

Does anyone remember what happened to all those random characters like Pepper and Rosie? That's my only Neighbours gap as I was living in London and prioritising going to the pub over watching!

bintofbohemia · 19/01/2012 13:26

Where was it that Helen Daniels always used to go for weekends and paint?

BupcakesandCuntWorms · 19/01/2012 13:30

Eugh. I can't believe I used to fancy Brad.

ArielNonBio · 19/01/2012 13:31

OK, Brad's not done too badly has he? Could have been worse Grin

bintofbohemia · 19/01/2012 13:35

Who was the guy with the mullet who was in it around the time of Scott and Charlene? The actor's name was Mark, I think, and he was from Tasmania. And I developed a massive crush on him when I was about ten after seeing him in panto.

ArielNonBio · 19/01/2012 13:36

Mark Lyttle? Joe Mangel?

BupcakesandCuntWorms · 19/01/2012 13:36

You're not thinking of Mike (Guy Pierce) are you, Bint?

silverfrog · 19/01/2012 14:11

no mullett, but are you thinking about [ Nick Page? Young artist taken in by Helen after he graffiti'd Erinsborough.

Can't remember what happened to him - he probably ended up burning down Lassiter's as happens whenever they fancy a set redesign

Thinkingof4 · 19/01/2012 14:28

Does anyone remember jim's 2nd wife Beverley? There was an episode where she carved a watermelon into a basket and filled it with fruit salad to serve at a family meal. However just as she carried across to the table saying ta-daaaa! the handle broke and it smashed on the floor. 'twas very funny
What a random thing to remember!!

I used to think Skye was soooo cool but she looks fairly ordinary now (she's on a link further back in the thread)

I loved brad too and he's not bad now, but strangely enough not my type at all now. Didnt stingray have a really good looking older brother?

LadyBeagleEyes · 19/01/2012 14:32

Poor old Alan Dale.
Having built up a successful Holywood career, we all still remember him as Jim Robinson from Neighbours.

ArielNonBio · 19/01/2012 15:10

Remember that advert? I can't remember what it was for....it featured some Aussie bloke on the phone to his mate shouting "Hey mate, you'll never guess who I'm next to. Jim Robinson! Yih! Jim from Neighbours!!" and Alan Dale getting all mardy.

Mi4 · 19/01/2012 15:13

LOVING this thread Grin

We need a Home and Away one too!

bintofbohemia · 19/01/2012 15:16

silverfrog - Mark Stevens! That's the one! I got his autograph and went completely daft over him for a bit. Grin

Just had a quick google and discovered this:

Mark Stevens - Now a leader at the Abundant Church in Bradford, England Shock

Groovee · 19/01/2012 15:30

Didn't Cheryl Stark run Chez Chez at one point? And Lou Carpenter had loved Madge for years

Mi4 · 19/01/2012 15:35

Home and Away thread Grin

Mi4 · 19/01/2012 15:35

Cheryl Stark had The Widest Hair Do Ever. fact.
