Anais, Noel Gallagher's 11 year old daughter, signed to model agency

Can't believe it has taken her parents so long to live vicariously through her. Brilliant choice there. Modelling is great avenue for a vulnerable pre-teen. No risk of body issues, or eating disorders, or exposure to sexual predators and drugs. Perfectly reasonable I'd say.
Poor kid.

I bet it wasn't her dads idea

upahill · 11/01/2012 14:16

Here we go!!

Kayano · 11/01/2012 14:17

Why is it your business and why do you care?

Gumby · 11/01/2012 14:17

Is her mum Meg someone?

scentednappyhag · 11/01/2012 14:18

Um, are you disagreeing with child models in general? Or just this one in particular?

I would have loved to be a model as a kid but daddy bought a sweet shop when I was 11 and my dreams were crushed by a vat of Cadbury chocolate and a slush puppy machine

civilfawlty · 11/01/2012 14:20

I care because it is appalling. I'm not a fan of child modeling, but it is a world away from shoots for glossy magazines. And I wouldn't give a monkies if she said she wanted to do it-11 year olds arent old enough to make those kind of decisions.

Tryharder · 11/01/2012 14:22

Don't understand the vitriol against the OP. I think it is shocking that an 11 year old child is modelling adult clothes.

upahill · 11/01/2012 14:22

Is it heck appalling!!

I saw the pictures of her this morning. She looks lovely.

Kayano · 11/01/2012 14:23

Is she going to be in high fashion and glossy mags or just happy catalog shots? Don't know so we can't get all judgey pants for her just signing up surely?

Kayano · 11/01/2012 14:24

Tbf whenever I see Noel Gallegar he seems pretty down to earth so I'm not
Going to judge

Kayano · 11/01/2012 14:24

obv on tv or
Mags
I don't tend to bump ino Noel all the time Grin

civilfawlty · 11/01/2012 14:25

Have you ever been backstage at a fashion show, or on a shoot upahill?

She is signed to Select. These won't be blimmin Biden catalogue shoots.

And, you're right, she is beautiful. So what? She has a right to be a kid.

OP posts:
Hulababy · 11/01/2012 14:28

So long as she wants to do it and she is chaperoned, etc I think it is fine. 11 is old enough to speak out and know what they want to do.

Would you think the same of child actors for example? Wasn't Daniel Radcliffe about this age, or not much older, when he was allowed to become Harry Potter? Don't think it is much different myself.

KirstiesHomeMadeCrap · 11/01/2012 14:30

kayano thats the idea of public forum. Here we can discuss others business and have own opinions.

Ifancyashandy · 11/01/2012 14:30

She's stunning!

I've been backstage on many a fashion show / shoot and I've never seen any harm come to any of the kids. At least her parents have some insight into how the industry works and can't be ripped off / bullshitted to.

The thing about child models is it becomes very apparent very quickly if they don't want to be there - they look totally bored. That stops them getting booked so even if they do have 'pushy parents' the child still had an element of control.

charitygirl · 11/01/2012 14:32

Am amazed/impressed that the combined genes of Gallagher and Matthews are so attractive. But agree with OP - this is vile.

Kayano · 11/01/2012 14:33

Can someone post a link? I have never even seen her?

grafit · 11/01/2012 14:33

What a complete waste of a healthy 11 year old's time.

TimothyClaypoleLover · 11/01/2012 14:36

Agree with Hulababy, its no different to child actors and there isn't the uproar there. 11 years old is old enough IMO to have a say in whether you want to model or not, unlike some friends of mine who have their 2 year olds signed up to modelling agencies.

bakingaddict · 11/01/2012 14:39

Surely you must have to get parental consent to model at this age

If her parents are happy with her modelling, then why are you getting so upset

We all parent differently, as long as she is not running off to join the Taliban then it's hardly a world shattering event, I personally dont give a rat's arse about what celebrities kids get up or what names their given, sprogs of Beyonce/Lily Allen I couldn't care less, i've my own civilian life to worry about

BandOMothers · 11/01/2012 14:42

She's very beautiful and there is nothing wrong with it. Do you imagine OP that with parents like hers they will be unaware of any attached risks? It is NO different to child actors who in some cases are asked to perform with adults in very distressing scenes. She's going to be VERY protected and always chaperoned.

OldMacEIEIO · 11/01/2012 14:43

Anyone who calls their daughter Anus , whether they be a member of a famous band or not, should be shot

BandOMothers · 11/01/2012 14:43

graft A waste? How? She'll be doing something she is nterested in...she might love clothes and having her photo taken....my 7 year old certainly does! She wouldn't see it as a waste...meeting new people, mixxing with those you might never otherwise meet.
