Anais, Noel Gallagher's 11 year old daughter, signed to model agency

Can't believe it has taken her parents so long to live vicariously through her. Brilliant choice there. Modelling is great avenue for a vulnerable pre-teen. No risk of body issues, or eating disorders, or exposure to sexual predators and drugs. Perfectly reasonable I'd say.
Poor kid.

I think modelling is v v different to acting. With modelling the focus is entirely on appearance. That can't be a healthy message for an eleven year old.

I wouldn't want a child of mine to act or model. If they want to then they can when they are 18.

Heswall · 11/01/2012 14:47

They probably need the money, Noel and Meg put most of their fortune's up their noses in the 90's and his "bands" haven't been very successful recently.

akaemmafrost · 11/01/2012 14:48

I think her parents are probably better placed than most to know the pitfalls and dangers of that lifestyle and she is stunning, I don't actually see that much wrong with it.

I wouldn't have my kids modelling myself because I don't know enough about that career and how to protect them, plus they would never sit still long enough to have their pictures taken!

Heswall · 11/01/2012 14:49

I shared a flat with a children's swimwear designer and she always said she would never let her child model, the castings are so brutal, hopefully they've improved in the last 15 years.

BandOMothers · 11/01/2012 14:49

Chub and you're very naive if you think actors aren't booked on their looks or that they don't matter.

lockets yes...my DD loves it. She is very bright too in addition to being interested in fashion, textiles and looking individual.

I know, it's shocking that a child is being allowed to model! I've never seen anything like it in my...oh.

belgo · 11/01/2012 14:52

She's a pretty girl, but she is only getting this publicity because of who her parents are.

ScarlettIsWalking · 11/01/2012 14:53

I used to cast child models.

My god the mothers after their child had been rejected. The air would turn blue.

The poor girls...

Chubfuddler · 11/01/2012 14:54

I didn't say looks didn't matter in acting. I said they were the focus in modelling.

foglike · 11/01/2012 14:55

What an odd thing to type OldMacEIEIO Confused

belgo · 11/01/2012 14:56

IMO 11 years old is exactly the wrong age for a child to get into modelling. Too many changes happen with puberty and in a few short years time she may be totally inappropriate for modelling.

TimothyClaypoleLover · 11/01/2012 14:56

Chub - acting is also based entirely on looks. Daniel Radcliffe et al were picked for their looks as none of them had acted before. And as their careers have gone on all people talk about it Emma Watson's looks, the tabloids made a big thing about her turning 16, 18, first boyfriends etc etc.

belgo · 11/01/2012 14:57

Daniel Radcliffe had acted before, he had been on Nicholas Nickelby I think.

Apologies, I stand corrected. I thought they made a big deal about all 3 being new to acting and JK Rowling picking who she thought looked like the characters should be rather than based on talent.

Davsmum · 11/01/2012 14:59

I think its sad that many little girls are clothes and even make-up obsessed at such young ages,.. but its the way things are today. Parents must decide what they want for their children and so long as it is not illegal - then its no one else's business.

Bloodymary · 11/01/2012 15:03

My little girl (6) has done a couple of modelling jobs and she loves it.
Why does it bother you so much OP?

aldiwhore · 11/01/2012 15:05

What kind of agency?

None of my business really.

maddening · 11/01/2012 15:17

if she is posing as a child then fine but I think it gets on dodgy ground when an 11 yr old is decked out and posing as an adult

TroublesomeEx · 11/01/2012 15:21

How did 2 spectacularly unattractive people produce her?!

ArtVandelay · 11/01/2012 15:25

folkgirl my thoughts exactly :)

Hulababy · 11/01/2012 15:28

Emma Watson and Rupert Grint had never acted professionally before HP. Daniel Radcliffe had done a couple of TV things and his mum is/was a casting agent. But they were all pretty much unknown.
