Can't believe it has taken her parents so long to live vicariously through her. Brilliant choice there. Modelling is great avenue for a vulnerable pre-teen. No risk of body issues, or eating disorders, or exposure to sexual predators and drugs. Perfectly reasonable I'd say.
Poor kid.

Link incase anyone cares.

belgo · 11/01/2012 16:08

TBH I wouldn't want my child to endure the sort of fame and publicity that the Harry Potter actors have had.

Feminine · 11/01/2012 16:15

Well in the link picture she looks nice possibly model potential.

I have seen others and she looks quite ordinary.

It is who her parents are , no doubt.

Select are a great agency, I was also with them for a time.

SiamoNellaMerda · 11/01/2012 16:26

What on earth do the physical appearances of her parents have to do with anything? There are some astonishingly spiteful bitchy comments here from people who know less than nothing about anything to do with this child and her parents!

Emsmaman · 11/01/2012 16:31

Anais was on our possible list of names. Never thought of it being Anus. Which if pronounced correctly it isn't. Anyway glad now that we didn't, if she makes it big the name will become more common.

EduStudent · 11/01/2012 16:31

Well, that link was very definitely child modelling.

TroublesomeEx · 11/01/2012 16:32

I think her parents are attractive - I've seen them on the TV and in magazines and that is my subjective opinion and I'm entitled to it.

I think she is an attractive child - I've seen a picture of her and that is my subjective opinion and I'm entitled to it.

What else do I need to know about them in order to hold an opinion on nothing other than what they look like? Confused

TroublesomeEx · 11/01/2012 16:33

And I was just surprised. She is really attractive!

southeastastra · 11/01/2012 16:33

yeah noel gallagher is a right hunk of spunk

Feminine · 11/01/2012 16:35

siamo because it is always shock to see a good looking child come from ordinary parents.

The other way round is unusual too (might not be kind ) but it does cause interest. Jamie lee curtis is an example of having very good looking parents, and being plain herself.

In this case though, I think Noel actually has a very good gene pool...Liam actually has very nice features. Meg Mathews? not so much.

My post is very fickle and unkind, I know that Blush a bit like modeling really.

belgo · 11/01/2012 16:38

The Mario Testino photo of her is beautiful, but then so it should be. The other photos of her show her to be an ordinary, pretty girl, like so many other little girls.

TroublesomeEx · 11/01/2012 16:38

Exactly Feminine besides, if you've put your child out for modelling (or yourself for that matter) then of course people are going to comment on the aesthetics. After all, that's all modelling is about!

Dur I should have said I think her parents are unattractive - should have proofread obviously!

SwedishEdith · 11/01/2012 16:43

But siamo, if she's modelling and her parents are sanctioning it, commenting on her looks (and theirs) is what people will be doing all the time. Her father is a very dull bloke, but I can't imagine he is that thick not to realise this.

Feminine · 11/01/2012 16:45

Right folkgirl you should hear some of the vile things that have been said to me (while working) I started very young too.

It comes with the territory.

I agree with you too belgo as if Mario Testino could take a bad shot! Grin

LemonDifficult · 11/01/2012 16:51

Agree with Belgo.

Pretty much all the DCs of all the posters on here would look that gorgeous or more so if they had Mario Testino and the airbrush gang at the Telegraph hard at work.

She is being set up for a fall. She's pretty, but a lot of girls are pretty. It's not enough and I think she'll be ill-served by starting at 11. She's got plenty of contacts she could work at, say, 17.

AlpinePony · 11/01/2012 16:52

Am I the only one sceptical she's "tall enough" for catwalk?

Anyway, of course it's who her mother parents are. C.f., Annie lennox's daughter/leah woods/jerry hall's daughter.

cornastasiaski · 11/01/2012 16:55

I think that she's beautiful
Not all models are tall anyway - isn't Kate Moss fairly short for a model?

ScarlettIsWalking · 11/01/2012 16:56

Like many of the girls I cast and worked with. Pretty at 9 or 11 is not necessarily pretty at 15 or 19.

Is is actually quite soul destroying when a constantly book pre-teen falls off the books because of weight gain or the inevitable feature change puberty brings.

THIS is the reason why child modelling, imo is a really, really bad idea for the self esteem.

nursenic · 11/01/2012 16:57

My son was a baby model yrs ago with the Elizabeth Smith agency and was 'scouted' in the street by one of the agency staff. I took him out of it when he reached 18 months before it became more than loads of people trying to attract his attention.
He was on the cover of Mother & Baby magazine at 7 months and did couple of commercials and the usual editorial. Clothing, travel etc cost so much that we didn't make much for his account. I have gorgeous photo's though of him.

Very funny one day when we arrived at a mainline station to find a big chauffered car awaiting him. The driver was standing with a big sign with 'Mr - -' written on it. Was not expecting a baby in a carseat and laughed his head off when I introduced him to my son.

bringbacksideburns · 11/01/2012 17:00

Yeah. Poor kid.

She looks like she's having a really miserable time in that Paul Smith advert.

I was a child model, have no horrendous stories to tell. Then i was a hair model for a well known hairdressers when i was a student - again, quite an enjoyable experience.

Because of who her parents are she will be treated with kid gloves and get some great campaigns. And because she has just started i would think it very possibly is her own decision. She will probably go on to start her own little jewellery/fashion line in 20 years time.

Either way she won't have to worry about paying her bills!

brandysoakedbitch · 11/01/2012 17:10

What is it that Meg Matthews actually does? (apart from be divorced from Noel Gallagher) - Dies she have a job or anything.

And, nice looking little girl but no more outstanding than other girls of her age. It will always be about who you know unless you are exceptional and plucked off the streets.

Feminine · 11/01/2012 17:11

I guess what grates (for some) is that if she hadn't been the parents of 'celebs' she probably wouldn't have got a look in.

I think that is a fair point.

Many of the models around today (of famous heritage) would not be anywhere as popular if they hadn't got such a head start.

Its also very true that model gorgeous at 11, is not quite so lovely at 18 :(

belgo · 11/01/2012 17:11

'Is is actually quite soul destroying when a constantly book pre-teen falls off the books because of weight gain or the inevitable feature change puberty brings. '

yes that occurred to me as well, which is why I think 11 is exactly the wrong age to start.

Nature, and the british media, can be very cruel.

Feminine · 11/01/2012 17:13

I saw it happen belgo

In fact, it also happens a lot between say,17-22 too.

Its amazing how much developing still goes on in that period.

southeastastra · 11/01/2012 17:13

she is 11 years old. i would have thought her parents would be able to afford a nice private school that would teach their girls to attain to a bit more than blardy modelling
