I know that this post may have some mixed reviews and may even get me slated but I can,t help it.
Someone I know although she is a genuine case her and her husband have as much as me and dh coming in and with a brand new car thrown in for good measure.
I can only dream of a new car and I work my tripe off 5 days a week as well as dh whilst some people can sit at home and get the same income coming in it seems really unfair.

OP posts:
ProPerformer · 08/01/2012 22:40

From the heart: Sorry if I offended anyone with any of my posts. I really do mean that as I hate upset.

A friend who works in DLA department said I was entitled to DLA when I first became ill as my ilness is quite complicated, though didn't apply because of having enough money through DH to live on. I may not have got it if i had applied, who knows. Again i begrudge no-one this support - just call me devils advocate if you will.

Hands up to not being 100% over aspergers allowance though I take point on that!

Right - if I comment on this thread again may god strike me down!

GoingForGoalWeight · 08/01/2012 22:42

maypole1 you really are ignorant, your children could be disabled tomorrow after an accident as I could or anybody else. I've read a few of your posts over the last few weeks and you are very, very ignorant in general :)

WinterIsComing · 08/01/2012 22:42

DLA is not means-tested for the thousandth time so no matter what your DH earned, if you had qualified you would have received it. The Camerons claimed DLA.

molepom · 08/01/2012 22:42

I'm too fucking knackard to notice to be honest Winter.

Sevenfold · 08/01/2012 22:43

omg this thread is still here and now we have the poster who sometimes pretends to have a child with sn on it, god help us.
please mn hq delete it and allow the posters with disabilities and parents of children with disabilities somewhere go where they don't face this shit

WhingingNinja · 08/01/2012 22:43

did they really?

you are shitting me right?

WOW.

DoNotOutMe · 08/01/2012 22:44

The truth of benefits is, for me, that in order to ensure there's enough money for those in need it will sometimes be given to those that don't. It isn't fair for all of society, but nothing is. If Botox Janet down the road getting her benefits that really she could do without, as she's a cash in hand hairdresser, means that Sam and her children can heat their home and eat well, and some years live it up in a cheap campsite somewhere then so be it.

WinterIsComing · 08/01/2012 22:45

Had to check I addressed my comment to maypole not Molepom there Shock

May have misinterpreted your post, PP - I see now that you didn't need the money. unlike David Cameron Hmm

GoingForGoalWeight · 08/01/2012 22:47
WhingingNinja · 08/01/2012 22:48

I agree DONot.

thing is that the OP of this thread has acknowledged that the people she is envious of are actually genuine claimants.

So she hates them for being genuinely disabled!

Dawndonna · 08/01/2012 22:50

Seven Really? How did I miss that?

Nilgiri · 08/01/2012 22:50

So go on then, ProPerformer, put in a claim. And tell us how it goes.

DLA relates to:
a) mobility
b) need for personal care at home (being able to prepare food, bathing, staying safe, etc).

DoNotOutMe · 08/01/2012 22:50

Ah a disability bashing thread....niiiiice.

Jux · 08/01/2012 22:51

Oh, by the way, did any of you know that if an MP gets 10 letters from constituents on the same subject they think they are being 'deluged' and start to worry that perhaps they should start being seen to do something.

If you can mobilize some people in your constituency to write to your MP you might actually get a few of the todgers to start fighting on behalf of the less advantaged. Do try to get people to write their own letters though, rather than use form letters which are all the same.

Nothinggold, that goes for complaints about inadequate public transport, too. Get a load of your friends to write asking for better transport links so that you can all get to work more easily and you may get something done. Maybe not this year, but your MP will be aware that it is an issue affecting his/her constituents and may jump on it as soon as there is some money available, or use it as part of the campaign when this parliament is up. Meanwhile, don't be put off by the no-money line. Keep in touch with him/her every 3 - 6 months about it to keep it in the forefront of the filing cabinet. You may get more buses, even if they only go to the nearest station, but your whole community will benefit in the long run.

AmberLeaf · 08/01/2012 22:56

The cuntish attitudes on this thread are exactly why this cuntish government are going to get away with shafting disabled adults and children.

We are without hope I feel.

Ripeberry · 08/01/2012 22:57

There will always be someone better or worse off than yourself. Just be glad that each day you have food in your belly, a home to live in and family around you. Everything else is just 'stuff' and in the long run, not that important.
A new car? That's just jealousy. Let go of the green eyed monster.

WhingingNinja · 08/01/2012 22:58

If an emperor is in charge of an Empire, and a King is in charge of a Kindom.

Who is in charge of a Country?

i think that its more appaling that people like me... worked 22 years.. made redundant 5 times in 4 years... struggles to get help when in desperate need. I ws unemployed for 13 weeks took 6 week paid temp job, then ws told that i couldnt get help setting up my own business becuase i needed to be unemployed for 13 weeks... immediately prior to requesting help.

It seems that all the money i paid in... counts for nowt.

Sevenfold · 08/01/2012 23:08

it will go,
but another will happen
the shit heads will not get deleted/banned or told.
they will spew their bigoted anti sn stuff on another thread soon, they will hide their sick hatred behind lies and imo, and freedom of speech.
MN HQ should make disability bashing a non subject, they should treat it with teh speed they do racism.

FriendofDorothy · 08/01/2012 23:09

I have just sat and read the whole of this thread. I don't think that the OP was saying that every people claiming benefits should get on with it and get a job, but I do think they were commenting that there are those people who are taking the piss and should be working instead of claiming benefits. Yes, I think the OP worded it badly, but I think it has been entirely taken out of context.

Who doesn't feel a bit narked when they feel as though they work all the time when someone else gets things more easily?

Mumcentreplus · 08/01/2012 23:10

I think a thread like this helps people understand what others are going though

fallenpetal · 08/01/2012 23:11

I wonder if the people who hate us benefit fraudsters so much would care to come and help me dress when my Dc are with their father please? :)

Mumcentreplus · 08/01/2012 23:12

bur also high-lights what others seem to 'feel' but do not experience...

Mumcentreplus · 08/01/2012 23:13

it's a joke...and a very sad one...
