I know that this post may have some mixed reviews and may even get me slated but I can,t help it.
Someone I know although she is a genuine case her and her husband have as much as me and dh coming in and with a brand new car thrown in for good measure.
I can only dream of a new car and I work my tripe off 5 days a week as well as dh whilst some people can sit at home and get the same income coming in it seems really unfair.

I assume you want it deleted because of the total and utter bollocks you have just posted there Performer.

No, you can't claim DLA for work related stress. unless it left you such a shell of yourself you were left with serious mental health issues leaving you virtually housebound.

No your husband can't claim DLA because unless his aspergers means that his ability to cope within the world is impaired to such an extent that he cannot live the life of a "normal" person. I would say that having a family and high paid career would mean that he is doing pretty well even by "normal" standards.

the last two paragraphs of your post are incoherent. I have no idea what you are on about.

Rt Hon D Cameron MP
House of Commons
London SW1A 1AA

Or you could send it to Tory Head Office at 30 Millbank, London SW1P 4DP, or 10Downing Street, London SW1A 2AA

Moominsarescary · 08/01/2012 22:23

This thread has obviously moved on since I last read it , realy what the fuck is wrong with people , I'm lucky enough to have children without sn. Those who do and have to care for them 24/7 should get a damn sight more than they do so life can be made abit easier for the whole family

molepom · 08/01/2012 22:24

Cheers me dears, Jux.

Still waiting for DS to sleep so will print all this off (provided MNHQ hasnt deleted it) as soon as I can.

I'm leaving out the RT HON though.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 08/01/2012 22:24

Properformer, you can get DLA if working and on a high salary as it is not means tests

fFS at least know the facts before you come along and lecture us

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 08/01/2012 22:25

Grr means tested

Nilgiri · 08/01/2012 22:26

ProPerformer, go on then. Claim DLA.

You can always turn it down if it gets awarded which is not fucking likely.

Go ahead and try. It's not an out-of-work benefit, claiming won't affect your job.

You state that you are entitled to it and are making a choice not to receive it.

So just you go ahead and try. Here.

Don't forget to let us know how it goes...

maypole1 · 08/01/2012 22:26

Benefits should be substance level.

It shouldn't be enough to save it, it should be enough to live on with children and it shouldn't be enough to live on to be able support another adult

My view it's should be very little it has become a way of life even labour now concede benefits culture is out of control it has become the new crack
People in the uk are addicted, will use every exuse why they have to have it

But deep down if they who are on it know the time ha come to be weened

Just as the crack addict uses the exuse he needs the legalised crack (methadone ) or he will commit crime the under class say their kids starve if we don't give in
Thus bribing us into evermore handouts

Well we can now see the answer is have less children whilest being looked after by the tax payer not have as many as you like and the tax payer give you more money

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 08/01/2012 22:27

And maypole, you sound like you are stalking this woman. Such bitterness is unhealthy

molepom · 08/01/2012 22:28

I dont even know where to begin on your post Maypole1.

DanJARMouse · 08/01/2012 22:28

So Maypole, what about the ones where children were had when working FT and affordable, yet disability has struck meaning quality of life down the pan and benefits an evil necessity?!

FFS. Some people on this thread make me sick. Bunch of uncaring, up their own arse tossers.

No wonder this country has gone to the dogs with people spouting this claptrap left right and centre.

molepom · 08/01/2012 22:29

Could be the same poster Fanjo - namechanging.

GoingForGoalWeight · 08/01/2012 22:29

maypole1 I've never heard of most of those benefits in your list!

oh FFS.

Maypole - you also seem to be very ignorant of the facts.

Clothing grants are issued once per child at the first year of a new school. And most LA's have scrapped them altogether.

Your friend APPLIES for a crisis/budgeting loan. same as you would apply to any other loan company., the difference is that she isn't entitled to a "normal" loan as she is not in work. she pays it back. and the total amount owed cannot exceed a relatively small amount.

She doesn't receive a community care grant unless she has a very specific need. the criteria is incredibly tight. And by need i mean that the only person i have ever known be accepted for one was a lady who fled her partner and was being re housed after spending 6 months in a refuge and had not one single item for said new home. She was given a grant for a fridge and a bed for her son. the other things she asked for (sofa, wardrobes and clothing) were not considered essential and so was not given the grant. Hard;y just given out.

The half price stuff will be LA specific so i can't really tell you how that is worked out but it is usually done as part of a tax break as it is considered a charitable contribution if it is a business. if it is LA funded it is because it is government legislation that all these new builds have to have a certain amount of low income service users.

But you don't actually care about the facts of these cases do you? you just prefer to sit in a world of ignorance where you blame those nasty single parents and their kids with the pretend illnesses for all that is wrong with your life dont you

Dawndonna · 08/01/2012 22:32

Maypole.
You only really come on here to have a bit of a go on these threads. Try actually reading what some of us have to do. This is our reality for many of us. My family NEED more than subsistance levels, because they have disabilites. I am not justifying my existence again, I did it earlier on in the thread, read it and be bloody grateful that it's not what you have to do each day. In the meantime, try doing some reading about benefit levels.
I didn't choose for my husband to become disabled, neither did I choose to have children with special needs. However, I do feel that as that is the situation and as I had to give up an extraordinarily good job in order to look after my family, I should be paid a reasonable wage for doing so. Carers in this country save the government an absolute fortune, in return we are paid a pittance for doing so.

You are trying my patience to an ever greater degree, recently and I shall start being extremely rude soon. I therefore suggest you run along and educate yourself about how bloody difficult life is for many, many people on benefits.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 08/01/2012 22:34

Some people are a bit stupid.

WinterIsComing · 08/01/2012 22:35

The people using rude language and hurling insults around are being very unreasonable.

Make your well-structured arguments and your points, but please call people cunts in a separate post then HQ need only delete the latter.

WhingingNinja · 08/01/2012 22:35

really, don't engage with her.

if she isn't a troll in the internet sense she certainly is in the other sense.

i swear i flush things with a greater knowledge of humility down the fucking toilet once a day.

molepom · 08/01/2012 22:36

I wonder what the benefit bill would be if there was a "stupid" benefit? Can you imagine how much tax would be earnt on a Stupid and ignorant TAX? The country would be out of debt in a week!

WinterIsComing · 08/01/2012 22:37

Love that post about Cameron too Grin

Maypole you sound like a very hard-working and busy person. Do you also find it difficult to clear your mind of all that is occupying it at night?

Jux · 08/01/2012 22:38

Molepom, he won't see it though. A secretary will open it, read it and file it under 'disaffected' at best, but more likely 'bin'. (All front bench MPs are Rt Hons, by the way, not that they deserve it; leave it off though, as it uses up ink from your pen - which you will have to replace; uses up energy in writing it which you will use in better ways. I am sure Mr Cameron can take it as "we're all in this together" after all Hmm).

Suspect you'll get an acknowledgement and that'll be it. Remember Riven and the nappies? It took most of MN nagging and nagging and nagging to get any movement on that, and now they've cut the benefits and so clawed back the nappy extra-spend anyway.

Dawndonna · 08/01/2012 22:38

Grin molepom

WhingingNinja · 08/01/2012 22:39

a carer receives £55.55 per week.

Should they choose to return to work and earn a whopping £120 or more a week, they lose that benefit.

instead they have to find someone willing and able to look after that child whilst they work.

Of course they could just abandon said child for the state to look after.
Lets see how well they manage to find 24/7 care for what does it work out to? about 4p an hour?
