I know that this post may have some mixed reviews and may even get me slated but I can,t help it.
Someone I know although she is a genuine case her and her husband have as much as me and dh coming in and with a brand new car thrown in for good measure.
I can only dream of a new car and I work my tripe off 5 days a week as well as dh whilst some people can sit at home and get the same income coming in it seems really unfair.

oh but they won't PP
disabled people are a much better target, look how angry people are, they got the attention they wanted.
they have hurt people and caused upset, talking about tax evasion wouldn't have the same affect and jazz up their sad lives

mrsm this is not and was never meant to be a serious discussion.
It thread was posted as another example of that weird phenomena - envy of those in a less fortunate position.

Envy of people who have disabilities. Envy of those who are forced to rely on a hostile government, envy of those who are caring for their loved ones and watching them suffer.

You yourself bought in the 'too proud to claim' crap. How do you think that makes people feel who do claim? People like my OH?

There are people who will not claim through pride and end up dead.

BTW if this was a discussion on a less female dominated site would you use that patronizing tone? Bitchy ladies and a little Smile

Hmm
KalSkirata · 08/01/2012 18:48

and these jobs are where Posie? Last I read there were 3 million unemployed and half a million vacancies. Should those people exist? Shouldnt the Govt be creating jobs?

Kellogg · 08/01/2012 18:48

I did not insult the poster so why have I been deleted. I said she was taking shit but then explained why she may feel driven to do so.

Kellogg · 08/01/2012 18:49

If I had said she was a shit that would be a personal attack, I did not say that.

geekette · 08/01/2012 18:49

IUse, get off your high horse.

I think you are trying to say that we treat the disabled like spoilt brats kids and give them everything they want. and that they don't have enough tough love?

They already have life tough, enough they don't need more tough love. They definitely should not need to come begging the able-bodied-and-oh-so-benevolent-tax-payer-sir for a something with a screen and can make calls because that is all they are worth as the overlord has decreed phone.

And seriously, minimum wage? Their care and medication alone is above minimum wage in most cases. Add on equipment, rent and mobility and they you are making them fill in a form to breathe.

mrsmplus3 · 08/01/2012 18:49

for the record and before i leave this thread to go and bath my younger 2:

i am not early 20s mrsdevere, im mid 30s. you didnt subsidise me, my working parents did.

i havent said a word against genuine benefit claimers, just the cheats.

and so what if i told a wee story about my hard working grandfather. im just proud. that shouldnt bother you that much. im entitled to my posts on here.

kitchenroll, i would stop explaining. its pretty clear.

em...think thats it? hope you all sort it out.

KalSkirata · 08/01/2012 18:51

kitchenroll said 'FFS, sevenfold, it's not begging at all. It would be applying to a fund that provides people with the stuff they need to have a decent quality of life. Thats all.'

Administered by who? Have you ever had to approach SS for anything? Some act like the money is coming out of their own pocket, Ive been waiting 14 months for a toileting seat. I once had dial a ride boss tell me 'people like you should be grateful'
I so dont want funds administered by non disableds.

Sevenfold · 08/01/2012 18:53

KalSkirata I think that is what she and others want, disabled people begging for hand outs, with no freedom.

mrsmplus3 · 08/01/2012 18:54

mrsdevere - youve lost me and i give up. i havent bought into anything, i dont even know what you mean by that? i stand by my posts. i think youre presuming stuff i havent even said.

and also, is it really about envy? i didnt get that. that would be weird to envy disabled peoples money. im just talking about benefit cheats. the unfairness of that. THAT is a very fair point of mine i would say.

night for now.

totallyscunnered · 08/01/2012 18:55

You know, at times, I wish the rules hadn't been tightened up so that it was no longer allowed to post "fuck the fuck off and when you get there fuck off some more you dumb cunts"

But obviously, that is no longer allowed. As to post such a thing would be a personal attack.

So, I will contain my anger and ire.

wubblybubbly · 08/01/2012 18:55

Not to mention the fact that it would cost a fortune to administer these funds.

What's wrong with just giving disabled people the power to determine how they spend their own money?

I get the higher level of DLA and work full time and had to go to tribunal to get it as I had it taken away from me!
I DO work in spite of my disabilities and am registered disabled at work so they feel they are doing their bit [work in education]
I resent the implication with benefits that we are automatically the 'Jeremy Kyle' generation and sit around all day. There will always be those who take the mick and defraud as there is with tax credits etc but most of those are in genuine need.

knittedbreast · 08/01/2012 18:58

well i just did a calculation on what a single mum with no income in an 800 a month house would get £421.00 a week.

800 of that a month is rent. thats another 130-150 gas and elec, 25.00 o watre rates

then 50 a week food.

hardly loaded

Dawndonna · 08/01/2012 18:59

Iuse
Why can I not have choices, choices about what I spend the family money on, why should I have to go cap in hand to a charity and justify my spending? That's what you are saying, it is begging, no matter how you look at it, somebody other than my family are making a decision as to whether we need a pet, a mobile, whatever. I have been abused and reported for buying basmati rice and smoked paprika, because it's more expensive than long grain. Would I have to beg for basmati rather than long grain, or smoked paprika because it may be considered a luxury?

The whole point is that people have the money and should be allowed to choose how they wish/need to spend it, that is independent living.

Acumenoop · 08/01/2012 18:59

/me bangs head

The top rate of DLA is £5,605 LESS than a 35 hour week at NMW. They don't get more. It's less. It's MUCH less. It's HALF.

Jesus!

IUseTooMuchKitchenRoll · 08/01/2012 19:02

Tough love? Where the fuck did that come from?

Care and medication are not things that anyone should have to pay for.

Confused

Don't know what posts you were reading geekette, but they weren't mine.

HowlingBitch · 08/01/2012 19:02

Who on earth reported you for rice? That's sick.

jklikesrowing · 08/01/2012 19:02

why cant we put fuck the fuck off and when you get there fuck off some more you dumb cunts"?

totallyscunnered · 08/01/2012 19:03

JK if you put that in a post and direct it to the OP then it is construed by MNHQ as a personal attack.

TheLightPassenger · 08/01/2012 19:05

to the OP - if you feel you and your dh are underpaid, surely it's more sensible to blame your employers or the capitalist system rather than a random disabled person who you agree is perfectly genuine Hmm

wannabestressfree · 08/01/2012 19:05

I think posts like these run the risk of becoming very personal. 'walk a mile in someone else's shoes' and all that..........
I am sure most on DLA would swop it for good health and normality. I know I would.

TheLightPassenger · 08/01/2012 19:06

I've just had an inspiration - why not get rid of tax credits and child benefit for all, and instead we have to apply and justify that the money would be wisely spent? why should this only apply to disability benefits>
