I know that this post may have some mixed reviews and may even get me slated but I can,t help it.
Someone I know although she is a genuine case her and her husband have as much as me and dh coming in and with a brand new car thrown in for good measure.
I can only dream of a new car and I work my tripe off 5 days a week as well as dh whilst some people can sit at home and get the same income coming in it seems really unfair.

Op

I have a wav I also have a brand new house have just got Dd a place in school jumped the waiting lists .etc etc so you probably envy me

But 5 years ago I had it all so I thought marriage kids a nice lifestyle . Then ds3 was born with Sn .my marriage did not survive so I became single parent Ds 3 full time carer . Tine to myself what was that

9 months ago due to a back problem and failed. Surgery I became paryalised from the waist down , doubly incontinent .

Regular pain , spasms . I can no longer just get on a train without 24 hrs notice , buses well that's variable . A 6 inch step means shops are out . I can not even something as simple as reach stuff of a shelf or pick things up I droped

NHs gave me a wheelchair not one that was best for me allowed me sone independence something that wax adequate meant I could move 3 metres , so unable fo school runs / park trips etc

Do you still envy me now. Because I would give up my DlA to be able to walk again , for ds3 to be normal able to talk / walk

Ok, all pile in and attack me now for having a slightly different opinion.

Yes I have children and claim CB. I have a shot at getting DLA for ds, but thankfully I can cover the minimal costs his disability incurs without needing to.

I would consider luxuries to be holidays, pets, anything really that a person could live without.

If you are going to have a go at me though then you would be able to make a better judgement on me by knowing my opinions about things other than the fact that I believe those in work should be better off than those not.

My ideal world would mean that disabled people has much better therapy than they have now, and so would their families. Wheelchair services would be much better, access to physio and OT would be much better, everyone would be given suitable child are for fee if they wanted to work, regardless of any disability and if a parent could only earm minimum wage compared to what the care would cost. Disabled people would have heating paid for, they would have as much transport as they needed provided free to enable then to have fulfilling lives. Medication, and nursing care and neccesary aids and personal care products would be provided without limitation. IMO there are things that are necessity, and anything that is necessary would be given. It would cost a hell of a lot more than what people already get.

I just don't think someone who doesn't work should have more income than someone who doesnt.

antsypants · 08/01/2012 18:11

I never had to think about budgets and money seriously until I had DD as I am not really someone who craves the materiel things.. When I had DD I had to go back to a random office job which sucks the joy out of life Smile but I did so because I didn't want to have to justify my existence to anyone else... I went from earnings of 15895 to double and a bit within the following 12 months...

On that 15895 I was entitle to 780 in child tax credits and 360 wtc, as well as 80 per month cb... I was always going to be in a better position working, so this idea that you wouldn't be is a myth.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 08/01/2012 18:11

if you envy people on benefits, just leave work and enjoy their luxury lifestyle. Or throw yourself down the stairs and gain a spinal injury and a wheelchair so you can coin it in. Hmm

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 08/01/2012 18:11

I just wish before idiots started stupid threads like this that they at least checked their facts.

They get DLA but they can do jobs blah fucking blah.
They look ok to me blah fucking blah
Its not fair they have more money than me blah fucking blah
We work hard blah fucking blah
We pay our taxes blah fucking blah

The same old shite every single fucking time.

DLA - NOT a means tested benefit you fuckwit
Disabilites are not always visable and you are not an expert you total twat
You do NOT KNOW how much money they have you stupid prat
No one just works now do they? They all work 'hard' or 'all hours' or 'slog'. Get over your fucking self, you work, so do we big deal. Tosser.
Lots and lots of disabled people pay taxes and lots of people who are on full benefits have paid thousands and thousands of pounds in benefits you bloody fool.

If you are following them around to see where they are eating out, going through their rubbish to check what they spend their money on, spying on them to see what they are doing you perhaps should seek medical help as you are clearly disturbed.

Delete me, I care not. Nothing I have said is anywhere near as offensive as this stupid, halfbaked, badly thought out, innacurate, ignorant thread.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 08/01/2012 18:12

we are both working and taxpaying and get DLA for DD

Sevenfold · 08/01/2012 18:12

IUseTooMuchKitchenRoll so what do you do the disabled people who can't work and will never be able too?
make them live in poverty?

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 08/01/2012 18:13

however I cannot get het up about this thread tbh, just another in a long line

"A question really but why do those of you who find these threads so upsetting, insist on torturing yourselves by reading them? I don't understand why anybody would put themselves through that, really I don't."

Because they are the only ones who can answer them, Witch. And if people like Dawndonna and Expat (very sorry to hear, expat) don't go online to explain what it is really like, there are evidently people thick unimaginative enough to believe that life with a disability or chronic/life-threatening illness is just the same as their own life plus a few perks.

usualsuspect · 08/01/2012 18:13

Are you saying disabled people shouldn't go on holiday ? or have pets?

TheHumancatapult · 08/01/2012 18:14

To be able to buy clothes anywhere , I tend buy special jeans at £50 a pop as I can not have seams/pockets due to pressure sores .

Try Sitting on a chair and picking up a cup of tea then work Oyt how your going to move because you need both hands to propel yourself , ditto a plate or a hot pan .

Sit in a chair under a shower then work our how to get into another chair without moving your feet

Go to a swimming pool try getting out without climbing in or out using your legs . You want graphic sit on your toilet after having a pooh and without lifting your arse of the seat or moving your legs or putting weight through them

Work out how your going to wipe it . Then come back tell me you envy me

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 08/01/2012 18:14

but..what sevenfold said

NinkyNonker · 08/01/2012 18:14
Sad
fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 08/01/2012 18:14

and thehumancatapult and usual and all the sensible people

salsmum · 08/01/2012 18:15

Because Sevenfold they probably wouldn't get away with bashing any other minority group I'm sure the moderators would delete. When getting my daughter showered this a.m. she said to me 'what hat have you got on today?' fair question really being as I'm a district nurse, physio, councillor, advocate, social companion, health n safety officer, risk assessor carer..etc..etc...very rarely am I JUST HER MUM.

MillyR · 08/01/2012 18:15

I'm still waiting to find out why it is considered such a big deal that a person with depression plays football every week. It isn't cost anyone else anything for them to go and play football.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 08/01/2012 18:16

mrsm yeah my OH worked three jobs and so did I (not my dad or grandfather, US, how odd people start taking credit for what others do on these threads).

Unfortunately my DD got cancer and my OH got multiple scelrosis and we became carers for a newborn child with various SNs

SO we had to give up all our jobs and the advantages that came with them.

We still work but we dont have the LUXURY of being able to take on another job if we need some extra cash.

MildlyNarkyPuffin · 08/01/2012 18:16

I read the first page and the last page.

I'm assuming this has moved on from benefit bashing to attacking those with disablities?

In a civilised society we support those who need it. If people are delonberately deceiving the system then they can and should be caught. The vast majority aren't.

DLA has been taken away from many who claim it legitimately, leaving them with no income whilst they appeal against bureaucratic errors.

Try sitting on your hands and using your brain. You have no idea what other people's lives are like or how their diabilities impact upon their everyday lives.

SuePurblybilt · 08/01/2012 18:16

So you are still saying Iusetoomuchkitchenroll that people with disabilities should not be allowed holidays, pets, televisions and any luxuries.

What would be the point of the transport as part of their 'fulfilling lives' (your words)? So they could go and watch other people having fun? Whilst they had no extra money for 'luxuries'? What do you suggest they do?

Honestly, your plans swing from ludicrous to offensive and right back round again to ludicrous.

Sevenfold · 08/01/2012 18:17

I would love to know what motivates people like the shitstirring op.
do they sit there and really envy disabled people.
people like my dd who can't walk or talk?
people who have to battle every day just to exist.
do they really sit there thinking oh I wish I had that????
