To have still not come up with a suitable name for ladybits after 8 years???

I am totally U. Not only unreasonable but indesicive and repressed as hell.

Since DD came along 8 years ago have never called bits anything at all, just struggled to find a moniker that doesn't make me cringe or blush. DD isn't too scarred but DS 2.5 has recently become quite aware of his 'waddi' ( he named it so ) and obv the boys have this girls have that convo has come up.

What on earth do I call it?????

I call my ds's his 'jewels'. as in 'Stop playing with your jewels' or 'leave your jewels alone' - he always has his hand down his trousers! He has just turned 4.

Girls bits I always call 'flower'.

When I was young, my parents used the word 'toilet' to describe both a penis and a vulva. Ridiculous.

"Crotch" is the obvious word. Anatomically correct and sounds ok.

Crotch suggests a clothed genital area to me, usually associated with dirty old men scratching their crotches.

I think while a lot of people know what Fanny means in England, culture is becoming so Americanised with TV etc, maybe that's why it isn't used so much? Because it is now more likely to be confused with the US meaning ie Ass?

Totally agree about the imbalance between male/female terminology though, that's always bugged me.

I work in a hospital and i looked after one lady who called it her moneybox!!

When I was little it was willy and fanny but I don't seem to hear fanny as much these days.
I don't like minnie though cos I know a girl called minnie so it seems very harsh!

No idea what the best name for it is but DD2 who's 1 saw me naked recently, pointed at my bush and laughed her little baby arse off.

mrscrocoduck reminds me of when my dd took her toddler in the bath with her, she stood up to get out , he pointed at her pubes and said "Mummy you dropped baccy in the bath"

Fanny is an arse here and Willy and Minnie are names for grandparents. :)

I think the difference is that if we drew up a list of silly names used for boys parts they would mostly be from popular culture as opposed to names individual families have made up. Probably because guys are less repressed about talking about their todgers. I think this is might be both because girls/women have been told that talking about their genitalia is vulgar, unladylike and offensive, and also because penises are so much more on show due to common urinals.
