And why has the thread about it disappeared. Been on mn for 6 months and keep seeing references to it. My curiosity has got the better of me...

FFS.

Bloody royalty

Wink
SuePurblybiltbyElves · 22/12/2011 20:02

How would that help Festive? Serious Q

Glittertwins · 22/12/2011 20:02

I don't know anyone on here, most of the time I just lurk!

Pinot · 22/12/2011 20:02

Shirls you're not royalty. BUT you can be Natashs Kaplinskyskysky to my Trev MaccyD is you wish. With Sue as Dermot Murnaghan.

RainboweBrite · 22/12/2011 20:03

I have been a member here since July, but lurked on and off for years and have never heard of mumsnet royalty before tonight. I didn't know what the deleted thread was about, so thanks OP for asking the question. And thanks Hecate for taking the time to explain.

mominamillion · 22/12/2011 20:03

I namechange so often I don't recognise myself.

Pinot · 22/12/2011 20:04

crazy as Queen Mother. Brilliant!

over

HaveYourselfAMardyLittleXmas · 22/12/2011 20:05

Well of course, KatieMiddleton is royalty.

crazycrackernanna · 22/12/2011 20:06

I will take that title Mardy...I'll 'ave it. voddie though.

Over.

FestiveFrollockingFrenzy · 22/12/2011 20:07

Thought if people post like no one knows them, their posts might have more backstory and it might be easier to understand, rather than people getting the wrong end of the stick and others who do know them, having to defend them? Or is that not what we are talking about?

OP posts:
SuePurblybiltbyElves · 22/12/2011 20:09

Oh, I see what you mean. Yes, good point.
Though someone would prolly start a thread bitching about how long AIBU opening posts had got Xmas Wink

Cankulzof · 22/12/2011 20:09

I don't understand why the grumpy anti-royalist types would expect posters who've been here yonks and recognise each other to pretend they don't know each other for the sake of forum harmony? Confused

FestiveFrollockingFrenzy · 22/12/2011 20:09

I've been on threads before that we're ambiguous if you didnt know someones personality and have read the posts wrong, along with others, in a way they werent intended.

OP posts:
ShirleyKnotChristmas · 22/12/2011 20:10

Why FFF?

Why?

I'm only kidding about being Royalty, I am fortunate enough never to have yet been accused of it. I have been accused of lots of other stuff that would make anyone who knows me in RL laugh their tits off though...

I HAVE been fortunate enough to make some lovely, lovely online friends here - and I've been supremely fortunate for SOME of those relationships to become Real Life ones too. Isn't that what MN is all about "making parents lives easier"?

The accusation of Royalty is mainly one of jealousy as far as I'm concerned and to be honest, the "prolific" posters it refers to aren't even THAT prolific anymore...

If you want to talk about people rocking up on onto a thread to "defend" someone that's usually something that happens when someone is being poorly treated IMO.

FestiveFrollockingFrenzy · 22/12/2011 20:11

I'm just taking what has been said on this thread...

OP posts:
FestiveFrollockingFrenzy · 22/12/2011 20:12

Text as a medium of communication can be difficult when the other person is anonymous to you.

OP posts:
SuePurblybiltbyElves · 22/12/2011 20:12

cankulzof (of what btw?), YY.

Haterz be Hatin (hating myself now) for people being friends. Heaven forbid you should be lighthearted and derail a bitchy/whingy/generally crappy thread wth silliness as well, that's the worst thing you could do. Worse than going with a boy, or two.

FestiveFrollockingFrenzy · 22/12/2011 20:14

Nothing wrong with having friends but it must seem like a clique when conversing with strangers?

OP posts:
SpagBollyandtheIvy · 22/12/2011 20:14

Isn't the thread about a thread rule a bit defunct now that there is the Facebook like button sitting there?

You're not allowed to discuss a thread on another thread, but feel free to take it to a whole new forum? Doesn't quite make sense to me.

notveryinventive · 22/12/2011 20:15

that would make sense festive if people gave us the background and assumed we didnt 'know' them, but I guess they CBA typing it all out or feel that people CBA reading it all again so dont bother.

SuePurblybiltbyElves · 22/12/2011 20:15

oooo, Spagboll. Genius comment.

I guess I can see both sides of the argument, but like I said, hasn't affected me particularly.

OP posts:
Hullygully · 22/12/2011 20:17

I'm going to start like that too realitree

SantasStrapon · 22/12/2011 20:17
