I mean, he wasnt really was he? Somewhat rubbery looking if you ask me

I'm sure I read somewhere he had terribly bad breath too ...

I shold explain I've been dipping in and out of Teacher's Pet on TV (Doris Day and Clark Gable) Grin

Give me Yul Brynner/Steve McQueen/James Stewart etc. anyday!

And I agree about Richard Burton - very fine eyes.

What about beautiful actresses?

Vivien Leigh obviously.

Audrey Hepburn - elegant to a fault.

Elizabeth Taylor was a very gorgeous young girl/woman.

Sophia Loren - very sexy.

Ava Gardner - class.

Grace Kelly - class/Ice Queen.

etc etc. ...

Forgive me folks - have been tee-total for a few weeks (medication) and finally allowed a glass of wine tonight.

It went straight to my loins.

salmotrutta - agree they are all beautiful but you have missed out Merle Oberon. Stunning looking actress. Louise Brooks was very stylish.

My younger brother has always had a thing for Lee Remick.

DeePanCrisPandEeeven · 21/12/2011 22:12

James Mason - IF I could be turned, as a bloke, it would have been him! Yes, The Wicked Lady, with him and Margaret Lockwood was an iconic film. And Margaret Lockwood made my mind up!

Salmotrutta · 21/12/2011 22:16

Oh Lee Remick was gorgeous, as was Merle Oberon. Ingrid Bergman had a luminous quality. Lovely.

Lauren Bacall - stunning

OP posts:
Salmotrutta · 21/12/2011 22:17

Jean Simmons - also gorgeous.

Deborah Kerr - elegant and very, very pretty.

DeePanCrisPandEeeven · 21/12/2011 22:19

But it has to be Audrey Hepburn - the last word in beauty.Smile Apart from dd of course.

Salmotrutta · 21/12/2011 22:25

Well, obviously, I wasn't bringing my DD into the equation Grin who could knock them all into a cocked hat.

OP posts:
Salmotrutta · 21/12/2011 22:27

Oh - sorry DeePan - that sounded like I was saying "My DD is prettier than your DD" - not my intention Blush

OP posts:
DeePanCrisPandEeeven · 21/12/2011 22:31

no no no Sal! I know my dd is more beautiful than your dd. Stands to reason.Grin.

Having said that...dd is a stunner, even at 11y.o. [prepares defences for gangly boy pretenders]Smile

DeePanCrisPandEeeven · 21/12/2011 22:32

Sal - it's Pan here.

redrubyshoes · 21/12/2011 22:43

Virginia McKenna is very beautiful
David McCallum in the sixties and now
Maggie Smith

Salmotrutta · 21/12/2011 22:49

Oh hello Pan -

My DD is a tad older than yours (mid 20s) - she is also a stunner with no idea how lovely she actually is.

She makes gorgeous babies too

OP posts:
DeePanCrisPandEeeven · 21/12/2011 22:49

oh nice, Sal.

Salmotrutta · 21/12/2011 22:50

Oh ... and those gangly boys. They will be the very devil.
Put 'em straight.

OP posts:
DeePanCrisPandEeeven · 21/12/2011 22:54

you know, I trust dd a lot. She has an honest heart and takes no prisoners. And yes also has no idea how gorgeous she is.

I can't believe I missed this thread today- I am a total old movie junkie. I think Montgomery Clift was beautiful- has anybody seen Drop Dead Diva, the slightly rubbish TV show? There's an actor in it who could be his son, it's quite uncanny.

CatPussRoastingByAnOpenFire · 21/12/2011 23:08

Olivia Dehavilland? Was beautiful.

MrsRhettButler · 21/12/2011 23:14

See, I always see Olivia De Havilland as plain looking because of GWTW but there is a beautiful picture of her on her wiki page.

redpanda13 · 21/12/2011 23:28

I do the same with her sister Joan Fontaine because of Rebecca but she is also beautiful.

Salmotrutta · 21/12/2011 23:29

I think Olivia DeHavilland campaigned about something and was blacklisted by various Hollywood studios.

Here:

She was in The Heiress with Monty Clift, and deliberately plain in that, but was a very beautiful woman.

Salmotrutta · 21/12/2011 23:34

Oh and Pan - your DD sounds very grounded and sensible.
Mine was a bit of a "wild child" and had to be monitored.
She came out fine on the other side though. Grin

Off topic - i'd be reincarnated with Gravce Kelly's looks, body frame, height :)

Make a change from current state in the form of Shrek :(
