I mean, he wasnt really was he? Somewhat rubbery looking if you ask me

I'm sure I read somewhere he had terribly bad breath too ...

I shold explain I've been dipping in and out of Teacher's Pet on TV (Doris Day and Clark Gable) Grin

Give me Yul Brynner/Steve McQueen/James Stewart etc. anyday!

Cagney was kind of "cute" looking though, in a way.

Seems David Niven was just an awful big fake. Common, not so bright and boorish.

Isn't that what actors are supposed to be?

sozzledchops · 21/12/2011 16:24

Connerys rape scene in Marnie was very disturbing considering he was the good guy (still love the movie). Clinton Eastwood always liked to get feisty with the ladies in his movies too, quite a few with him dragging them into stable or whatnot.

mrsjay · 21/12/2011 16:30

redpanda13 · 21/12/2011 16:48

I don't really find Clark Gable handsome.

Agree with Brando in his vest in A Streetcar Named Desire.

I like William Holden in Rachel and the Stranger, Steve McQueen in Love With The Proper Stranger and the young Oliver Reed too. Also quite like the young Henry Fonda.

FreudianSlipper · 21/12/2011 17:41

Steve McQueen was known for being violent towards the women in his life :( and had a terrible coke addiction

there is something very sexy and naughty about Oliver Read, he should have played Heathcliff he had the same wildness about him

Salmotrutta · 21/12/2011 17:45

Oh, I didn't know that about Steve McQueen Sad

nativitywreck · 21/12/2011 18:20

nativitywreck · 21/12/2011 18:21

Well, two of them, anyway!

sozzledchops · 21/12/2011 18:22

Husband away tonight, time to look out a favourite movie to drool over for later and open a bottle of wine. Oh, the possibilities - what will I watch?

Malificence · 21/12/2011 18:28

The Hollywood studios in the 20's/30's/40's were corruption and debauchery personified, all the big names were drug taking, adultering, or violent egotists.
Rape and murder were commonplace and covered up by the studio bosses.
The golden age of Hollywood was anything but, I read a fantastic book about the excesses but unfortunately the name escapes me.

adamschic · 21/12/2011 18:29

My exh looked like Clarke Gable YANBU!
