I mean, he wasnt really was he? Somewhat rubbery looking if you ask me

I'm sure I read somewhere he had terribly bad breath too ...

I shold explain I've been dipping in and out of Teacher's Pet on TV (Doris Day and Clark Gable) Grin

Give me Yul Brynner/Steve McQueen/James Stewart etc. anyday!

I like a bit of Clark Gable, and Cary Grant and even Stewart Granger but not, under any circumstances Errol Flynn.

I love him toooo! (but only with matted dreadlocks)

ShirleyKnotChristmas · 21/12/2011 16:12

No, Clark was not gay.

Rock was totally gay, and just fucking incredible looking - I was totally born in the wrong era.

I tell you who I else is swoonifying - Montgomery Clift. Unbelievable looks, also gay. Liz Taylor was wild about him!

My granny is going to come back from the dead and kick all your arses.

Salmotrutta · 21/12/2011 16:13

I agree about Montgomery Clift. All broody and dark.

Can't say that Spencer Tracy, Bogart or Cagney ever done it for me. I liked the British and Irish bad boys, Reed, Burton, O'Toole in LOA (yummy scrummy) and Richard Harris.

Newman, Redford, Brando and McQueen - wow. Had a soft spot for George Peppard in Breakfast at Tiffanys.

ShirleyKnotChristmas · 21/12/2011 16:13

Errol Flynn was as mad a badger - coke fiend and raging alcoholic. poor devil

Johnny Depp is wonderful and sexy as anyone he plays - even Willy Wonka. Wink

Salmotrutta · 21/12/2011 16:14

Or maybe even brooding - he wasn't sitting on a clutch of eggs after all.

muffinino82 · 21/12/2011 16:16

Marlon Brando put it about that Sophia Loren had hairy nostrils because she annoyed him.

Fixed that for you. Lucky everyone else, man or woman, I say Grin

Clark Gable, nope, but I had a friend in school who had the biggest crush on him and Liam Neeson. The latter I can understand but Gable, even with his enormous manhood? No. And obviously Rett rapes Scarlet in GWTW, I've never been comfortable about that.

Monty Clift, on the other hand? Beautiful. Him and Liz Taylor in A Place In The Sun are the most stunning screen couple (allegedly got even more so with Brando in RL Wink).

sozzledchops · 21/12/2011 16:16

Oh yes, Montgomery Clift and Rock Hudson - absolutely stunning and don't care if they were gay, still gorgeous.

Love all the Hudson and Day films - my Sunday afternoon diary secret. Clift in The Heiress, fab movie.

OriginalJamie · 21/12/2011 16:17

I'm not convinced about Monty. A bit Thunderbirds puppet

SantasCave · 21/12/2011 16:17

Young Oliver Reed looks like he could give you a darn good seeing to Xmas Grin

David Niven had a certain quality too.

Cross post, ShC, great taste! Grin

Dirk Bogarde (also gay) had a certain dark charisma.

No, well they are proper actors not sex objects. (some of the handsome guys could act too)

MrsRhettButler · 21/12/2011 16:20

Hmm, ok, he's sometimes sexy as a normal person.

And Katie, I'm not sure I can argue with myself. I'm a bit lost.

GrimmaTheNome · 21/12/2011 16:20

Dirk Bogarde (also gay) had a certain dark charisma.
I associate him more with the lightness of Dr in the House, not darkness at all.
