hangs head

I don't even want to say what it was because

  1. I didn't know the girl
  2. it affects me not a damn bit

But... I was Shock, and I like to gas so here it is.

I looked out of the window and saw a young pregnant girl (about 7 - 8 months) walking down the street in pj bottoms and ugh boots (really) and what I can only describe as a crop top. I could see nothing but bi flaming stretch marks.
Not that stretch marks are to be judged because I am 31 weeks and am getting them too... But I was just so shocked to see them! In December! On display! This is in the north too so it is freezing, I nearly fell just going to the bin . I also didn't see the pint in the crop top because she was wearing a big coat over the top (although open).

And to cap it all off... (promise I'm not just ticking boxes) she was smoking too

I don't know why I mentioned she was young because I would have been shocked no matter of age but my stupid phone won't let me go back :S

I now feel awful and need to be told iabu. Ta

Each to their own but she must have been chilly!

JosieRosie · 19/12/2011 13:17

Kayano I would be pulling up my judgey pants too. Would never admit to it in RL though Wink PJs in public really irritate me, don't know why.

JamieComeHome · 19/12/2011 13:18

Am amazed this is the first time you've sported judgy pants. I wear mine quite a lot. But on the inside where no one can see them

nicknamenotinuse · 19/12/2011 13:18

I'd have had my judgey pants on too.

Kayano · 19/12/2011 13:18

I was just thinking just zip up the god damn coat and it won't be so fucking horrendous bad to look at

Only thing I would have judged there was the smoking.

Who cares what she was wearing, sounds like she was going for comfort over couture. And if she's maybe burning up like a furnace, I was when pg at this time of year.

Kayano · 19/12/2011 13:22

I get hot in pregnancy but may have put on a thin vest top or something, not put my massive flaming stomach on display :S it was really bad, like flames stretching up from her pants Confused

I can't remove this image from my mind

Don't kids up north wear next to nothing on a Fri night? :)

She'll be used to exposing it all in freezing winter......

JimbosJetSet · 19/12/2011 13:24

My God, as liberal and open minded as I try to be, I'd have judged too. About her and about the unborn baby's future. If for no other reason, I can't bear to see a pregnant woman smoke, so if she is being so selfish and careless about the baby's health now, that baby is going to have a tough life ahead of themSad

JamieComeHome · 19/12/2011 13:25

Am wincing at the stretch marks. It so painful when your belly is so stretched and itchy.

The smoking, I would judge. But then I pretty much judge anyone who smokes.

TroublesomeEx · 19/12/2011 13:32

OPIf it makes you feel better, I donned my judgy pants well and truly (I think I raised my eyebrows at the time! I certainly felt like I had...) about 3 weeks ago. I even started a post on here but deleted it before posting because it was like 'chav' bingo and I couldn't have tolerated the disbelievers!

I saw:

A woman and her partner/dad at local out of town shopping centre. Woman pushing her son around in a pushchair. Son looked too old to be in a pushchair (tick); he wasn't strapped in (tick); he had a Fruitshoot (tick); somehow the pushchair tipped up and he fell out onto the pavement. Rather than helping him up and checking he was ok, mum stood around laughing really loudly and somewhat exaggeratedly (tick); man put child back into buggy who turned to his still laughing mum and said "shut up will ya" (tick).

Ah that feels better! Xmas Wink

Kayano · 19/12/2011 13:36

Lmao folkgirl

I did think when I posted

  1. people won't believe me
  2. people would assume I was playing mumsnet bingo Confused

If only she had a child with a Greggs sausage roll lol

I saw a pregnant woman in the park drinking special brew the other day. Was Shock and Confused and v judgey pants. Was in the middle of the day too.

runningwilde · 19/12/2011 13:50

The PJ's don't bother me. The smoking when pregnant is disgusting and utterly selfish. It turns my stomach to see a pg woman smoking. I was a smoker before kids and even now, years after I stopped, I crave a ciggy, but stopped when I wanted to conceive and have never gone back. I have utterly no tolerance for smoking when pg, it is a vile thing to do. No excuses for it.

runningwilde · 19/12/2011 13:51

The secondcoming - if I had seen that my judgey pants would have exploded! Horrific!

The worst is when they are standing at the entrance to the hospital under a no smoking sign and doing it. I can't stand to see it ESP when I have to walk past them! No consideration

Kayano · 19/12/2011 13:55

the secondcoming when I worked in an off licence a regular came in holding his side and announced he had just been stabbed I. The pub across the road for stealing pints.

I was Shock and when I said I would call an ambulance he told me not to be stupid and he just wanted another can of special brew.

I refused obv but he wasn't even bothered!

That special brew HmmConfused

Maybe worth a bit of inward judging - especially the smoking. But I am judging YOU op because your main gripe seems to be that you had to view her unsightly figure and Shock stretchmarks. She can't really help that. Would it have been different if she had been a size 8 with a neat, unblemished bump?

Kayano · 19/12/2011 14:05

No!!!! I was shocked because it was December!!! And she was actually very small (probs was and 8 to 10 ) but it's not exactly something people want to see regardless of size.

I myself am 14 - 16 so have no issue with size at all actally, she was thinner than me. I can still judge on the horrible clothing choice though.

I got my first pair of judgey pants some years ago when travelling on a bus next to a woman who got out two cigarettes and lit them - then gave one to her son (aged about 10) sitting next to her Xmas Shock.
Since then I've bought judgey pants in bulk...

ChristmasFuckers · 19/12/2011 15:16

My judged pants are always on. I know I know, but can't help it
