hangs head

I don't even want to say what it was because

  1. I didn't know the girl
  2. it affects me not a damn bit

But... I was Shock, and I like to gas so here it is.

I looked out of the window and saw a young pregnant girl (about 7 - 8 months) walking down the street in pj bottoms and ugh boots (really) and what I can only describe as a crop top. I could see nothing but bi flaming stretch marks.
Not that stretch marks are to be judged because I am 31 weeks and am getting them too... But I was just so shocked to see them! In December! On display! This is in the north too so it is freezing, I nearly fell just going to the bin . I also didn't see the pint in the crop top because she was wearing a big coat over the top (although open).

And to cap it all off... (promise I'm not just ticking boxes) she was smoking too

I don't know why I mentioned she was young because I would have been shocked no matter of age but my stupid phone won't let me go back :S

I now feel awful and need to be told iabu. Ta

kayano at our hospital they stand under the sign with their drip trollies smoking. Some of the people have limbs missing, presumably through thrombosis and are still drawing on a fag.
Amongst them is invariably a pregnant woman.

At this point, and especially when other pregnant women, children and sick people have to thread through them and their drip trollies, my judgy pant are so high as to need eyeholes cut into them in the manner of a balaclava.

stubbornstains · 19/12/2011 15:23

Where can I buy these judgy pants of which you speak? Do M&S do them or is it necessary to go to a specialist shop? The balaclava ones sound particularly attractive in this chilly weather....

yellowraincoat · 19/12/2011 15:24

Ah well, it's not like you said anything to her. But still, a bit harsh to be bitching about a woman's figure on the internet.

Smoking when pregnant is grim though. Smoking in general is grim. I do it occasionally but why do people walk and smoke? It's so horrible, I hate getting some selfish prick's smoke in my face, esp first thing in the morning.

EnjoyResponsiblyIfSleighFlying · 19/12/2011 15:27

Stubborn, mine are knitted. They cannot be purchased. They are gifted upon you, at the point you master a cats bum mouth expression.

Kayano · 19/12/2011 15:27

I'm not bitching about her figure Hmm can people please read? I am the same amount pregnant as she was and I am a 16 and she was an 8

I was shocked at CLOTHES, exposed pregnant stomach in dec and smoking. I even said I am getting stretch marks myself so don't know how I am bitching about women's figures on the Internet?

Come to think of it I cannot help but think that MNHQ should have a pair of knickers emoticon.

stubbornstains · 19/12/2011 15:28

(Off to inspect the cat's bum for inspiration)

Kayano · 19/12/2011 15:29

stubborn my judgey pants are actually DH jogging bottoms from sports direct. Lol.

"big flaming stretchmarks - I was just so shocked to see them"

If she hadn't been pregnant, would you have judged her?

To me, it sounds like you're judging her on her figure and clothing choices in relation to that. Sorry if I misinterpreted you.

stubbornstains · 19/12/2011 15:31

I'm judging your judgy pants, kayano. I think I shall handcraft mine from vintage chintz. Edged with bunting.

Gonzo33 · 19/12/2011 15:32

I was in Germany when I was pregnant through winter in -21 degrees and I wore a coat undone. Mainly because my arms were cold, but my body was not iyswim. Never went out in a crop top and pj bottoms though, and never worn uggs. After I had my dd I had to wear a warm coat - far too cold.

Kayano · 19/12/2011 15:33

I think I was just shocked because I look at my stretch marks and think ' er no, where are my appropriate clothes that actually
Cover me?' I would never have thought people would actually have them out and about... It looked awful, just as mine
Would have. Blush

Oh god so what?
She's nothing to do with you, so let it pass over your head and get on with your day.

Kayano · 19/12/2011 15:36

I'm so sad I keep looking for her
Coming back and thinking 'she will catch her death!'

I've just started mat leave and am obv very bored lol

yellowraincoat · 19/12/2011 15:36

I don't think stretch marks look awful. I think they are just part of pregnancy. If she's happy with her body, good on her.

WinterWonderlandIsComing · 19/12/2011 15:37

I saw two very orange would-be-young women both pushing bling pushchairs yesterday in a shopping mall.

One was wearing a jacket emblazoned in multi-coloured diamanté with an offensive slogan on the back. Short. To display the Olivia-Newton-type spray-on trousers. The other was similarly-dressed but all in tangerine with shoes like this

I did judge a bit but redeemed myself when I very sensitively sidled up and told the lady that she had the majority of a McD's burger bun on the end of her shoe. She was grateful and I then felt mean and also annoyed at all the people who hadn't told her about it.

RomanChristingle · 19/12/2011 16:58

OK you weren't judging her weight just her 'flame-like' stretch marks that were 'fucking horrendous' to look at Hmm

WorraLiberty · 19/12/2011 17:04

I've never seen 'good looking' stretch marks I have to admit Confused

Oakmaiden · 19/12/2011 17:08

We should definitely have a pair of judgey pants emoticon. Far more useful than some of the others we have on here...

GoingForGoalWeight · 19/12/2011 17:19

YANBU - smoking ugh :(

RomanChristingle · 19/12/2011 17:30

Well there are lots of things that may not look great but coming on here to recoil in horror at them isn't nice. Fair play to the woman if she doesn't mind showing them.

FatGoose · 19/12/2011 17:34

poor kid being raised by that
