Can I just say that I am totally sick of Posters trying to manipulate opinions by reversing AIBUS?

WTF is wrong with just posting your issue or sour grape as it actually is, do you bloody have to try and see it from the other persons perspective, and post outrageous OPs to manipulate heated responses out of people?

It is totally unnecessary to twist an op. It is manipulative, and people waste time seeing it from one side, then somewhere along the way the op comes back and says "actually, it is the other way around".

It does not matter whether the aibu is reversed or not, the op does not come out looking great after first looking shit, this is no greek tragedy, where you go through some catharsis, and seeing the devastating or laughably pathetic truth at the end. It is wasting posters time.

Just stop. Ok

Thus Spoke Quint.

I agree with Quintessential.
Xmas Grin

MmeLindor. · 12/12/2011 10:38

Agree.

What one was it then?

IwishIwasmoresparkly · 12/12/2011 10:38

Well said.

squeakytoy · 12/12/2011 10:38

Completely agree. :)

sitandnatter · 12/12/2011 10:38

YANBU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pepper09 · 12/12/2011 10:39

I get all confused and then not everyone sees the confession and sigh what's the point?

Akiram · 12/12/2011 10:40

Agree.
Pisses me off no end when the OP in the reverse AIBU then admits it was reverse but refuses to answer any bloody questions!

SantasStrapon · 12/12/2011 10:41

Agreed. By the time I've read the thread and seen it's a reversi, I really CBA to post at all.

StellaNova · 12/12/2011 10:41

I agree. I read one where the poster was nice (once revealed not to be the mad person from whose POV the OP was written) and everyone was sympathetic, but I did think well, when you are doing a reverse AIBU as well as being confusing, you are ascribing the Other Person involved with motivations and thoughts that they really might not have ("I am jealous of X as she is so pretty" "I feel X is too much of a doormat") so any reply is almost bound to be on your side.

Although I must admit to a frission of competitive smugness when I'm proved right after calling reverse.

*Note to self - get a life.

Bloodymary · 12/12/2011 10:41

I agree as well.
I was just about to post on the 5 year old boy not seeing his Dad over Christmas thread, and guess what, it was a reverse AIBU. Grrrr Xmas Angry

MmeLindor. · 12/12/2011 10:42

Oh, found it.

And while you are at it, can you outlaw the posting of a reverse AIBU and then only coming back to say, "thought so!" and then fucking off again.

If people are going out of their way to comment on your thread, at least be polite enough to engage with them and perhaps apologise for getting everyone wound up.

wannabestressfree · 12/12/2011 10:42

What bloodymary said................. its annoying

ChristinedePizanne · 12/12/2011 10:43

Agree and there is an annoying spate of them at the mo

Hardgoing · 12/12/2011 10:44

Agree, my brain is too slow to see they are reverse, and even when it's pointed out, I can't then reverse them enough to comment sensibly.

Serenitysutton · 12/12/2011 10:44

I also think it's a waste of time. It's not possible for anyone posting an aibu to see it objectively from the otherside

LEttletownofBOFlehem · 12/12/2011 10:45

Which thread is it today? They are a bit irritating, I agree.

Akiram · 12/12/2011 10:46

What Mme said so much better than me.
LeBof t'is the thread that BloodyMary mentioned a couple of posts up.

MildlyNarkyPuffin · 12/12/2011 10:46

Disagree. I think it's a reasonable thing to do when there's a clear cut issue eg father seeing his child on Christmas day.

Morloth · 12/12/2011 10:47

YANBU, it is very dumb.

I pretty much just write the poster off as an idiot.

LEttletownofBOFlehem · 12/12/2011 10:47

Ah, ok, thanks.

Bossybritches22 · 12/12/2011 10:48

Quints right

Trills · 12/12/2011 10:48

YABU

In theory, if reasonableness or unreasonableness is a real thing (rather than just an opinion) it shouldn't matter what perspective you post the AIBU from, people should be able to tell who is being unreasonable.
